It has been a busy fortnight in Middle Years, with PLT 3 getting ready to go on camp to Marysville this week, and
PLT3 getting organised to go in Week 8 to Campaspe Downs in Kyneton. Camps are always a great learning
experience for our students, and we wish students and staff good luck and happy camping in the next few weeks.
A big thank you as well to the staff who are staying back with students who are not going, and other staff members
for their flexibility in regards to placing students and Yard duty coverage.
Last Friday the Whole School Sports day was the big event at Warringa Park, with all students participating and
enjoy a range of activities in hat were both exciting and tailored to students different abilities. Students loved the
experiences, and a big thank you to Sports teachers and helpers who made it all happen.
Week 6 is Science Week, and PLTs across the Learning centre are holding a variety of exciting, hands on
activities, and student led experiences around the STEM Inquiry Units being taught in Term 3. Invitations have
been sent out to parents in all teams, and we would love to see you here to see the wonderful work being done by
our students, and have a look around your child's classroom and talk to their teachers.
In Week 4, an exciting addition has been made to the MYPLT 2 play area. New equipment, including a Basketball
chute and fitness zone equipment have been installed. This is a significant addition to the area, and students are
already loving playing on the equipment during breaks, and in designated movement breaks with their teachers and
ES staff.
We hope to see you at school this week for Science week celebrations, and for the upcoming Book week and
Literacy and Numeracy week celebrations in weeks 7 and 8.

Groups 10,11, 18 and 19
Groups 10,11, 18 and 19 had a fantastic time at camp. We
had fun swinging on the giant swing, riding around on bikes
and making our own pizzas with organic ingredients from the
camp garden. The food was fantastic for all the meals and it
was great to see so many students on their first camp.
In literacy ‘Pete the Cat’ was
rocking in his school shoes and all
the groups were looking at who,
where and what was happening in
the book. We are all moving onto
‘The very cranky bear” where we
are looking at when certain events
of the book will happen. In
numeracy we are learning about
ordinal numbers and number order.
Students are learning the language
of first, second and third and how
to position items in order using
numbers as help. This week is
science week and with many activities being offered
throughout the week we encourage all parents/carers if
possible to try and make it to an activity. With book week
next week and literacy and numeracy week in week 8, we
have a very busy and exciting time in all our classrooms.
Until next time happy
learning from groups 10,11,
18 and
19.
Groups 22, 23, 24 & 25
Groups 22, 23, 24 and 25 have had an
interesting two weeks making their own
commercials. They have been given criteria
to work off in order to make an
advertisement of a product of their choice. It
is related to building their ability to work
collaboratively in small groups and express
their feelings through their presentations.
Students used a range of applications to
form their commercials including IMovie,
Green screen and Puppet Pals and camera
roll.
Students and staff left for camp on
Wednesday the 17th of August and will
be returning on Friday the 19th of
August. Hopefully they are having a
joyful time, and we know they will
definitely need some rest and sleep on
the weekend after the fun few days
away.
Monday, the 15th of August was the
beginning of Science Week, with
students involved in several science
experiments around the school. We
would like to dearly
thank parents and
family
members
who
attended,
Daniel, encouraging students to participate in
Erin, the science activities.

students with more purposeful
and engaging exercise activities
which they are enjoying using.
Our Reading focus on words

Sports Day, and
our students had a
lot
of
fun
participating in the
many activities and
provided by Sports
staff in the Hall. In
our Inquiry Unit
'What can we use
to Create Art?'
students have been
experimenting with
different modes of
painting, including painting circles and using masking tape to
define and paint within shapes. This week, we are doing our
own 'Pendulum' paintings, which we are incorporating into
our Science week activities as well. For Science week, our
students will have an exhibition of this Terms STEM unit
inspired paintings in the deck outside Rooms 39-41, which
will start on Thursday.
We are having an open afternoon on Thursday 18th August,
and we would love to get parents to come and see the

This week students from Nancy’s Careers class together
with VCAL and BRC , went to the Wyndham Council offices
for afternoon tea and a chat about what it is like to work ,
how to apply for work and tips for interviews.
On Tuesday we went to Wyndham city centre for afternoon
tea and to talk some people about their work and what they
do at Wyndham city centre. I was interested to hear about
the pound dogs. I want to learn about different dogs and
the lady was nice. Her name was Rachel . We have interviews on the 31 August 2016 at 9:00 am. I have completed
my resume and cover letter.
I want work at pound dogs in Werribee. Others people
talked about different jobs. One job was for meals on
wheels, another rubbish collection, the dog pound and food
service. There was yummy cheesecakes and sausage roll.
I saw VCAL students and Bethany Rd campus students.
