Extreme Makeover Home Edition
H2 Builders was selected by ABC-TV to be Beaufort County’s Official Extreme Makeover Home Edition
Builder.
In early January 2011, ABC’s “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” selected H2 Builders to build a dream home
and renovate the lives of a deserving Beaufort County Marine and his family. The house was around 4,000 sq.
ft. H2 Builders owner Todd Hawk said his custom homebuilding company was thrilled to have been selected
to participate in this exciting and rewarding project. “’Extreme Makeover: Home Edition’ was a natural fit for
H2 Builders,” Hawk said. “We’re both in the business of making dream homes come true.”
When it comes to the construction business, the process of making a dream home come true usually takes
months. With “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” however, Hawk and his team of community volunteers
did it in the short space of 7 days, working around the clock. And though he does admit that tearing down
one home and building another in a week can be a daunting task, Hawk said he knew that he, his crews and the
people of the Beaufort County community were up to task.
As with each “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” build, all labor and materials must be donated, and Todd
Hawk was responsible for facilitating all donated materials and labor. Approximately $850,000 worth of labor
and materials were donated for the house. Between 3,000-3,500 volunteers worked varying 24 hour shifts on
the house and were managed by the H2 Builders team.
On January 13, 2011 the crowd shouted….”Move that bus”….and another example of H2 Builders’ giving back
to the community was on full display.
