POWERgraf Premium 1, 3, 4, 5, Grafkote materials are made exclusively from high purity GrafTech Grafoil, with minimum
content of undesirable elements, which increase oxidation and decrease operating temperature. Moreover due to unique
processing technology, these materials contain so-called passive corrosion and oxidation inhibitor, which constantly
reduces galvanic corrosion of flange faces and increases temperature resistance in oxidizing atmosphere up to 525°C
(additional 80°C !). Standard foil specific gravity is 1,12 g/cm3. Thanks to these, the products have higher gas-tightness,
higher recovery and lower compressibility.
We also offer foil sheets in nuclear quality with purity of 99,9 % C.

Unidirectional expanding
Multidirectional expanding
PTFE materials are used where high chemical resistance is required. The following materials have different physical
properties to meet various application demands. Historically these materials divide into:
Sintered PTFE pressed sheets
They are manufactured from pure or recycled PTFE without any filler. As other thermoplastics, PTFE is characterized by
increased flow when under stress (cold flow). This flow tends to increase as the temperature rises. It is necessary to retighten
the gasket regularly to prevent any content leakage.
Expanded PTFE sheets and tapes
Expanded PTFE enabled the suppression of undesirable material cold flow on-load. The gasket is expandable: in one
direction, resulting in unidirectionally oriented filamentous microstructure (UNI, HD, FR tape) or into more directions,
resulting in multidirectionally oriented filamentous microstructure (BG tape, BG-S sheet). Expanded PTFE has high
chemical resistance, good compressibility and surface adaptability. It is ideal for fragile (glass, enameled) flanges.
Restructured PTFE with inert fillers sheets
Restructured PTFE with inert fillers sheets have been developed to eliminate cold flow under stress. In order to construct
highly filamentous structure with direct molecules, the material is laminated prior to its sintering. This ensures an increase in
the material‘s strenght. Mineral and synthetic silica, barium sulphate or hollow glass micro bullets, e.g., are used as Fillers.
PTFE cold flow at low and high temperature is nearly eliminated by this way.
Gasket Teflon jackets
The PTFE makes suitable the envelopes to be used in chemical, pharmaceutical
and food industries due to its excellent physical-mechanical characteristics:
excellent resistance to acids with the protections of inserts / is certified to be
used in the food sector / does not leave residue on flanged surfaces and can
be easily substituted/ resistant to temperature changes (-200 +260°C) /
excellent dielectric characteristics / low porosity.
Insert materials: based on inorganic and synthetic aramidic fibres, armed
graphite, ceramic fiber, elastomere, ondulated ring usually supplied in INOX
AISI 316 (1.4401), etc.

POWER®flon HD
Expanded PTFE joint-sealant-tape of higher density for special applications.
Well suited for the compensation of out-of-parallel and/or damaged sealing surfaces,
and where a certain remaining thickness is required.
Application: Heat exchangers, large containers, tank lids, pump housings, flanges,
hand- and manholes, etc.
Dimensions (mm):

POWER®flon
Joint sealant tapes
POWER®flon FR
Self-adhesive joint sealant tape of higher density with stabilizing fillers from expanded
PTFE
Basic material of higher specific gravity is reinforced by anorganic fillers. It possesses
properties of higher quality than in POWERflon UNI and HD. This is especially evident in
higher temperatues, periodical temperature changes, and/ or uneven flanges.
Application: heat exchangers, large containers, tank lids, pump housings, flanges,
hand- and manholes, etc.
Dimensions (mm): 6×2,5 • 8×3,5 • 10×5
POWER®flon BG
Self-adhesive flange gasket tape made from multidirectionally oriented expanded PTFE.
The lowest cold flow, the highest resistance against flow under pressure. With virtually
no width grow, it is also suitable for groove and tongue connections. Convenient for
sealing of uneven and damaged flanges by the lowest possible tightening torque.
The best proportion of compressibility and recovery from all our supplied types. High
comformability and flexibility - optimal for enamelled flanges sensitive to tightening
torque pressures. For wide flanges with uneven surface or higher surface roughess.
Application:
POWERflon BG – sealability with gas

POWER®gasket
Spiral wound gaskets
with passive corrosion inhibitor
SWG–IR
SWG–OR
SWG
SWG–IOR
Construction: Gaskets are made of soft layers of expanded graphite with passive corrosion inhibitor, PTFE, ceramic or mica
inserted in the steel spiral and steel rings - see various types.
• Ceramic or mica is designated for extremely high temperatures, it is suitable to combine with graphite, zone gasket
• High blow out resistance - up to 320 bar.
• Inner ring protects sealing material against overheating (-200°C to 1000°C) and reduces medium turbulence in pipeline.
• Outer ring centralizes the gasket within flange, prevents gasket damage by tightening and enhances its blow-out resistance.
• Basic types are in accordance with DIN, BS, API and ANSI Standards.
• Applied graphite UCAR GRAFOIL permanently protects from buildup of both; galvanic and pitting corrosions of the flanges.

POWER®gasket
Heat Exchanger Gaskets
Structure: Carrier unit is composed of corrugated metallic core, which is then covered with layers of graphite of different
densities and thicknesses. The structure provides better sealing qualities when compared to standard types of sealing.
Its corrugated shape enhances the gasket‘s ability to regress, reducing the surface area when tightening is initiated. It
reduces the pressure valve needed for sealing functionality achieving at same time. This implies good bolt stability and
adherence pressure increase during temperature cycles. The manufacturing process of graphite spreaded onto the metallic
core surface ensures its application without gas bubbles, which occurs by graphite sheets.
Application: Dynagraph solves the problems originating from insufficient gasket elasticity and hinders harmfull pollutants
from leaking into surroundings. It is suitable for low starting tightening torque applications and/or where flange cooling and
re-warming occures. It is an economical solution for low emission leak requirement.
Graphite is applied onto metall core in one density only and provides herewith the advantage of this density only.
DynaGraph has graphite with high and low density and is getting the advantages of both densities.
Primary type used is expanded graphite GrafTech Grafoil with passive oxidation and corrosion inhibitor.
DynaGraph™
Advantages of high density graphite (1,84 g/cm3)
• High recovery
• Low porosity, good sealability
• High temperature resistance
• High pressure resistance
• High tensile strength
• Good wear resistance
Advantages of low density graphite (0,64 g/cm3)
• High compressibility
• Good sealing characteristics in applications requiring
low tightening torque
• Highly conformable to uneven surface types
Material composition:

Metal Ring Joints for high Pressures
Ring Joints metal type gaskets have been originally designed for high temperature and high pressure applications in
petrochemical industry. Today, they are commonly found in valve and pipe systems, and high pressure receptacles/ tanks.
They are divided into three basic groups.
Type R
R ring type joints come in two cross-sectional areas: the oval type and the octagonal type. Both configurations are
interchangeable by modern groove and tonque flanges.
Standard metal ring joints R type are manufactured in dimensional lines according to API 6A and ANSI B 16.20.
The oval type
The octagonal type
Type RX
The RX ring joint differs from the type R in that its cross
section shape is designed to take advantage of the fluid
pressure to achieve a seal. It utilizes the same groove profile
as is common in API 6B at pressures of up to 15 000 psi.
Type BX
Type BX utilizes the build up of internal pressure to
achieve desired increase in tightness efficiency. It is
manufactured according to API 6A and is designed
for pressure up to 20 000 psi (1 380 bar). If the BX is
installed correctly, it enables a direct touchdown (fit?) of
the flange surfaces on to the inner and outer diameter

Proper stuffing box installation influences in critical manner the good function and long lifetime of the packing.
1. R
emove all the old packing from the stuffing box by packing extractor. Clean the box and shaft thoroughly.
2. Examine shaft or sleeve (stem, plunger) for wear and scoring. Replace shaft or sleeve if wear is too excessive. Airspace between
the shaft and the stuffing box must be minimal to prevent packing extrusion. Maximal value of this gap must be lower then 0,03
× s (s = packing). Maximal shaft run-out shall not exceed the value 0,001 × d (d = ø stem or shaft).
3. C
ut packing rings (square or 45°skive cut) in correct lenght (see fig.) and ring shaped packing insert moving round 180°
or 90° into stuffing box space. Use packing cutter.

POWER®pack - inject
Injectable packings compounds
• Pumps, Mixers and Valves Packing
• Seal Cage System
Patented Seal-Cage-System
POWER®pack-inject significantly improves functionality,
integrity and reliability of injectable packing compounds.
Material composition:
injectable packing compound for pumps, mixers and valves sealing is based on high
quality syntetic fibres blended with carefully selected mixture of lubricants. This unique
fibres and lubricant combination allows attain almost zero (visible) leakage.
Properties:
POWERpack-inject packing compound may be injected during operation of machinery.
Does not depend on product leakage and/or flush water for lubrication or cooling, the
frictional heat build-up that so often leads to gland packing failure is effectively avoided.
The sealing compound has extremely low coefficient of friction and non-stick properties
help extend equipment life by reducing shaft and sleeve wear.
Benefits:
• easy to install - easy to use
• repacking made easy
• repacking while equipment is operating - no interruption of production, considerably
less downtime, longer continuous working periods of equipment
• e xtremely low coefficient of friction saves the energy, reduces heat build-up and shaft wear
• saves on water and waste water because no flush (cooling water) is required
• operates virtually leakfree
• works well with slightly worn shafts or sleeves because of excellent shape adaptability
• reduces operating costs and extends equipment life
Seal-Cage-System:
POWERpack - inject 20
A blend of exfoliated graphite particles
and high-temperature sacrificial
lubricants for extreme service
applications.
400°C (steam 600°C)
The idea to use a soft, shapeable packing compound instead of - or in conjunction with
- relatively tough braided packing rings is not new. But especially the end rings were
shifted and shaped in stuffing box without any control and this reason their lifetime was
reduced and injectable packing compound consumption was increased. POWERpack
Inject patented system improves packing shape stability and compactness considerably,
reduces injectable packing compound consumption intensively, increases this sealing
system reliability and durability. Shaft wear is reduced.
POWER®pack-inject Seal-Cage-System consists of the following parts:
• POWERpack-inject gun kit
• POWERpack-inject packing compounds
• POWERpack-inject Seal-Cage-System
