I had been contacted a week before the meeting by a detective from the Allegan County Sheriff Department. He had asked me if he could come to the meeting and say a few words. Several of us had met the detective from an evidence recovery that we had been asked to help with, in the spring of this year. While at the meeting he presented the club with a plaque as a thank you for the clubs service to the Allegan County Sheriff Department Investigative Services Division and the citizens of Allegan County. The plaque will be displayed in the display case in the entrance of the Plainwell Community Center. We also found out at the club meeting that he was excited enough about metal detecting that he had purchased a new detector and at the meeting became a new club member. We later presented him with a 2013 Silver Eagle as a thank you for including us on such an important case. As it so often happens to our new members he won several things before the meeting was over! Way to go Martin. Mike W. Look us up on the web! www.swmss.org Page 3 1. 14K WHITE GOLD MANS WEDDING BAND..TOM B 2. Thank you for all the work that you did for the club, and for going above and beyond when it was needed. Thank you, John, Brian, Anna, Deb, and Tom. We are blessed in this club to have such great people who are willing to serve in so many ways. It takes a lot of time and effort to help make a club this size run smoothly. I also want to thank all the folks who show up early to help set up, to the folks who take care of the find of the month entries, those who run the slide show, tally the find of the month slips, the ones who sell tickets, run the kitchen, bring snacks, bring door prizes, tear down and clean up. This is a long list of people, and most do not want recognition so I will just say thank you. You know who you are! Lastly I want to thank those who ran for and are now serving as board members, and to the people that make our newsletter happen! Mike W Look us up on the web! www.swmss.org Page 5 It is always encouraging to see everyone’s finds at the meetings. Please bring in your finds, even the ones that are not entered for Find of the Month at any regular meeting. At the June meeting, a motion was made to adopt the following rule; “A lost item that is asked to be found and returned, be allowed to be entered in the FOTM” A vote was taken by show of hand, to adopt this rule. Majority vote opposed this rule. If any information is incorrect or you are not receiving the newsletter by US mail or email, and you are a member, please let me know. Thanks, Leslie Beilby You may fill out the information form in the newsletter or there will be forms available for you at the meetings.
