MISSION
To improve people’s lives by mobilizing the
caring power of our community
United Way of Will County is...
• ACCOUNTABLE- United Way of Will County partner agencies must adhere to an annual review process led by
community volunteers. These volunteers hold the agencies accountable by looking for measurable outcomes, ensuring
financial integrity, and by making sure programs and services are continuing to meet the needs of our community. Thus,
this committee allows us to be accountable to our donors, further ensuring that donor dollars are being utilized in the
most efficient manner.
• COSTEFFICIENT- 89.4% of all contributions to United Way of Will County are used to support the numerous
programs and services provided by our partner agencies and United Way.
•
$1/week provides year of school supplies for an elementary student
•
$2/week provides 2 sessions of developmental therapy for a child
•
$3/week provides 16 disaster victims with one meal
•
$5/week provides 13 women and their children with domestic violence services to help them recover from abuse.
• EFFECTIVE-United Way of Will County supports a network of local nonprofit agencies that provide programs and
services that address the most critical needs of Will County communities.

FRANK TURK, SR. OUTSTANDING CAMPAIGN ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
Frank Turk, Sr. called on local businesses for more than 70 years. He would enthusiastically ask each company and its employees to
pledge their support for our annual United Way Campaign. He also served for many years on our Programs & Allocations Committee.
Mr. Frank Turk, Sr. was a mentor and a trusted colleague. He served on numerous community organization boards and held several
distinguished offices. Our United Way Board of Directors created the FRANK TURK, SR. OUTSTANDING CAMPAIGN ACHIEVEMENT

PROGRAMS AND ALLOCATIONS
Our Programs & Allocations volunteers work toward informed funding decisions to best utilize the generous donations received from
individuals and corporations for our United Way Partner Agency programs. These volunteers invest a generous amount of their time
visiting each of the United Way funded programs, examining detailed financial reports, and ensuring that service providers are
accountable. After careful consideration, volunteers determine the most effective and efficient use of available resources to meet
local needs and responsibly invest donor’s contributions. We thank them for their dedicated service to our United Way.
