ModaPelle Academy is part of the ModaPelle Group,
a recognized leader in the field of leather fashion.
For over fifty years the ModaPelle Group has
been a leader in the leather sector and publishes
professional leather fashion magazines which are
distributed worldwide.
Through our editorial activity we have contacts to the
whole range of individuals and companies who are
involved in the design and manufacturing of leather
goods and footwear in Italy.
We offer very specialized and very intensive courses
on how to design winning shoe and bag collections.
The courses aim to give a 360° view of shoe or
bag design and its integration with the marketing,
branding and manufacturing processes.
Our aim is to transmit the best of Italian design
practices; instructors combine their teaching with
shoe and bag design work for international and
Italian labels. When they study in Milan students
benefit from being in the design/fashion capital and
from learning directly from Italian designers and
technical experts. Students have full time contact
with these designers and technical experts; they are
not "visiting faculty" .
The classes of regular courses are held Monday
to Friday 10am till 5pm each day and are taught
in Italian with English translation. Classes are
very small (max 10 students) and so each student
receives a lot of individual attention.
We simulate the conditions of a shoe and bag design
studio and students work at their own pace after the
necessary input from the instructors. Students end
the course with a professionally designed portfolio
and technical work on all basic shoe models. You
will be required to present your collection at the end
as if you were presenting to potential clients or the
sales/marketing department.
A diploma is issued at the end of the course.
