YK BULLETIN FOR YORK AND GRANNING SHOES Technical Bulletin Subject: Granning and Hendrickson Shoes and Lining Fitment Brake Lining References: YK/12/1 and YK/13/1 Service Issue: Fitment Differences On the following page you will find the first picture showing the original brake shoe which with the above two brake lining part numbers had one lining with its chamfer being in the centre of the shoe. This shoe fits the York/Hendrickson Brake However there is a second option with the same brake linings fitting onto the shoe in the more convention way, with both chamfers being at the ends of the shoe as shown in the second picture. This shoe fits the Granning Brake The two versions of this shoe are drilled differently to allow the linings to be fitted in this way, as there is a difference between the rivet pitching as shown in each picture. TMD Friction Services GmbH Schlebuscher Str. 99 · 51381 Leverkusen/Germany www.don-brakes.com YK BULLETIN FOR YORK AND GRANNING SHOES The above shoe is based on the original York/Hendrickson layout with the lining on the right hand side having its chamfer in the centre of the shoe. As can be seen the distance between the rivets at position 1 is smaller than those at position 2 with the largest distance being between the rivets at position 3. This is the Granning version of this shoe has the chamfers at the ends of the brake shoe, and as a result the shoe is drilled to accommodate the one lining being the opposite way around. The approximate measurements from hole centre to hole centre being as below:1 = 34mm 2 = 38mm 3 = 44mm TMD Friction Services GmbH Schlebuscher Str. 99 · 51381 Leverkusen/Germany www.don-brakes.com
