Our Church News
Special thanks to Jim Rynberg for his extra work in arranging our
beautiful thanksgiving display. And Thanks to Jim and to Jack
Butterick for preparing our sanctuary for the Advent / Christmas
season. It’s a time consuming job but the end work is so beautiful.
Do you have someone special on your Christmas List that you are
looking for just the right gift? We have four sterling Circle of Life
crosses that would make the perfect gift. Call Georgia at 924-5913.
Altar Flowers - Coffee Hosts - Ushers - 2016 is just around the corner
and new calendars have been made for your convenience to sign up for
Altar Flowers, Coffee Hosts, Ushers and Greeters. If you are able and
willing to help in any of these capacities please sign up or call the
church office and Lorene will sign up for you. Today the calendars are
located in the church office. After December the calendars will be on
the bulletin board in Fellowship Hall. Thank you!
Put a smile on a child's face ... several children in the Walkerville
schools really need socks, mittens, under and outer garments, etc.
especially as the temperature falls and snow begins to fall. The
Deacons ask that we extend our Christian caring to these children.
Please ask Michelle Sweet for the name of a child (includes age, gender
and specific need). Return a wrapped gift (around $20) with the child's
name attached to church by December 17 (note date change). The
children will be glad you did, and so will we!
For the Deacons, Jack Butterick.
Special Performing Arts Program for Youth - All youth 8 years and
older are invited to participate in “The Christmas Juggler,” a Christmas
drama for worship based on an old medieval legend. It tells the story
of a juggler who has no gift to offer the Lord except for his ability to
juggle. The program will include circus arts, comedy and dramatic
scenes, and colorful costumes. The presentation will be Sunday,
December 30, 10:00 - 1:00 a.m. Practices are Tuesdays, 6:00 - 7:30
p.m. beginning November 3. The location is in the church fellowship
hall.
A Children’s Christmas Nativity Play will be included as part of
“The Christmas Juggler” on December 20. Kids of all ages are invited
to participate in the Nativity Play. The story of the birth of Jesus will
be read and acted out. There will be a one time rehearsal for the
Nativity Play on Saturday, December 19, 10:00 - 12:00 p.m. Please
call Mat Emerick at 231-924-4710 to confirm your child’s participation
in either “The Christmas Juggler” or Christmas Nativity Play or if you
have any question about either program.
Christmas is Coming, and the SCRIP committee hopes that you have
approached your families to get ideas of cards that you can purchase
from us that will be just what they want waiting for them under the tree.
We ask that you turn in your orders to us by December 13 so that we
can be sure to have the cards to you before Christmas. Thanks for
helping us earn the $2,500 that we pledge to the church budget!

“The Power of Your Love”
Lord, I come to You, let my heart be changed...renewed...
Flowing from the grace that I found in You.
And Lord, I’ve come to know the weaknesses I see in me
Will be stripped away by the pow’r of Your love,
Chorus:
Hold me close, let your love surround me;
Bring me near; draw me to Your side.
And as I wait, I’ll rise up like the eagle
And I will soar with You ,
Your Spirit leads me on in the pow’r of Your love.
And I will soar with You ,
Your Spirit leads me on in the pow’r of Your love.
Lord, unveil my eyes, let me see you face to face,
The knowledge of Your love as You live in me.
Lord, renew my minds, as Your will unfolds in my life,
In living ev’ry day in the pow’r of your love. (to Chorus)

Look-a-way beyond the blue
Go, tell it on the mountain, Over the hills and everywhere;
Blue Hymnal #258
Go, tell it on the mountain That Jesus Christ is born!
Do Lord, Oh do Lord, oh do you remember me (Oh Lordy)
Down in a lowly manger The humble Christ was born,
Do Lord, Oh do Lord, oh do you remember me (Oh Lordy)
And brought us God’s Salvation
Do Lord, Oh do Lord, oh do you remember me...ee
That blessed Christmas morn.
Look-a-way beyond the blue
Go, tell it on the mountain, Over the hills and everywhere;
Go, tell it on the mountain That Jesus Christ is born!
I’ve got a home in glory land that out shines the sun
I’ve got a home in glory land that out shines the sun
I’ve got a home in glory land that out shines the sun
“We Are Called to Be God’s People”
Look-a-way beyond the blue.
We are called to be God’s people, Showing by our lives His grace,
One in heart and one in spirit, Sign of hope for all the race.
Let us show how He has changed us And remade us as His own;
Let us share our life together As we shall around His throne.
“Morning Has Broken”
Morning has broken like the first morning.
We are called to be God’s servants, Working in His world today;
Blackbird has spoken like the first bird.
Taking His own task upon us, All His sacred words obey.
Praise for the morning.
Let us rise, then, to His summons, Dedicate to Him our all,
Praise for them springing fresh from the word!
That we may be faithful servants, Quick to answer now His call.
Send the Light
Sweet the rain’s new fall sunlit from heaven,
There’s a call comes ringing o’er the restless wave,
Like the first dewfall on the first grass.
“Send the light! Send the light!”
Praise for the sweetness of the wet garden,
There are souls to rescue; there are souls to save.
Spring in completeness where His feet pass.
Send the light! Send the light!
(Refrain)Send the light, the blessed gospel light;
Let it shine from shore to shore! Send the light,
Mine is the sunlight! Mine is the morning,
the blessed gospel light; Let it shine for evermore!
Born of the one light Eden saw play!
Let us pray that grace may every where abound’

O refresh us, O refresh us,
Would you o’er evil a victory win?
Travelin thro’ this wilderness.
There’s wonderful pow’r in the blood.
Refrain:
Thanks we give and adoration
There is pow’r, pow’r, wonderworking pow’r
For thy gospel’s joyful sound;
In the blood - of the Lamb - .
May the fruits of Thy salvation

In our hearts and lives abound.
In the precious blood of the Lamb
Ever faithful, ever faithful
To Thy truth may we be found.
