For the purpose of the policy, “use of tobacco” means a cigar, cigarette, smokeless tobacco, or pipe, or any other matter or substance that contains tobacco. ■ DANGEROUS WEAPONS ACT Since 1995, state and federal law requires school to expel students who possess dangerous weapons, or commit arson or rape in a school building or on school property. In compliance with state law, the Board shall permanently expel any student who possesses a dangerous weapon in a weapon-free school zone or commits either arson or rape in a district building or on school property, including school busses and other school transportation. For purposes of this policy a dangerous weapon capable of inflicting bodily harm is defined as a “firearm, gun of any type, including air and gas-powered guns (whether loaded or unloaded), knives, razors, clubs, electric weapons, metallic knuckles, martial arts weapons, ammunition, and explosives.
