Coffs Harbour
Located between Sydney and Brisbane, Coffs
Harbour has the advantage of gorgeous weather,
tranquil rainforests and long, sandy beaches. Coffs
Harbour also provides many attractions from
diving in the Solitary Islands Marine Park to bush
walking in the world heritage listed sub-tropical
rainforest at Dorrigo National Park. You can also
partake in activities such as whale watching,
surfing, fishing, snorkelling, beach and bush
walking, white water rafting or sky diving.
Otherwise you can just relax and enjoy the
ambience of this beautiful part of Australia.
town and the airport. Aanuka Beach is a four star
resort with direct beachfront access and nestled
between two headlands and is surrounded by
wide open parklands.
You can kick back and enjoy great food and wine
at one of the two onsite award-winning
restaurants set right on the sands of Diggers
Beach. You can get active at the resort's three
tennis courts and four swimming pools, or hit the
beach for a swim or surf. After all that activity why
not pamper yourself at the day spa, with beauty
treatments for all.
Legend has it that the first Europeans to the area
were escaped convicts taking refuge. Timber
getters were the first to settle in the area in 1841
and the town was originally called Korff’s Harbour.
It was renamed Coffs Harbour because of a
spelling mix up when the town site was officially
reserved in 1861. In the early 1900’s the banana
growing industry superseded the timber industry.
Coffs is now well known for its banana plantations
and is the home of the “Big Banana”.
Coffs Harbour is 530 km north of Sydney and 391
km south of Brisbane, within easy reach by car
from both capital cities. Coffs Harbour is serviced
by QantasLink, Tiger & Virgin Blue who collectively
provide up to 8 commercial flights a day to and
from Sydney.
You can unwind to the sounds of the ocean and
the fresh sea breezes in the spacious selfcontained accommodation at Aanuka Beach.
TriLine GRC Workshop (Day 3)
