NOVOTEL PACIFIC BAY RESORT
NOVOTEL PACIFIC BAY RESORT ’ NOVOTEL PACIFIC BAY RESORT ‘ PRESIDENTS WELCOME • Location I can’t believe it’s state conference time again! PLA NSW/ACT would like to invite you to join us for our annual state conference being held in Coffs Harbour, 28-30 March 2012. Coffs Coast is the regional tourism destination taking in the Coffs Harbour and Bellingen areas on the North Coast of NSW, approximately halfway between Sydney and Brisbane. This is where the Great Dividing Range meets the Pacific Ocean, leaving a small pocket of paradise lodged between the mountains and the sea. We are again building on past conferences, and we fully expect the 2012 conference to be bigger and better than ever. Coffs Coast region encompasses the rainforest escarpments of Dorrigo to the golden beaches stretching from Hungry Head and Urunga to Woolgoolga to the blue waters of the Solitary Islands Marine Park. It boasts a wonderfully temperate climate all year round. As parks, leisure and recreation professional we are responsible for planning, developing and managing facilities that encourage our communities to “get moving”? Do WE need to “get moving” to meet the ever growing demand for facilities, services and programs? The impact of lifestyle choices on our health is constantly in the media. Not the least is the amount of and access to physical activity and healthy lifestyle options for the community. Our 2012 conference theme, “let’s get moving” will hopefully inspire you to think about where you are heading.... The conference will be held at the Novotel Pacific Bay Resort on the beach at Coffs Harbour, and home to the elite training facility for the Australian Wallabies, South Sydney Rabbitohs and Sydney Swans to name a few. Please have a look at the conference website for information and updates. I hope to see many old friends as well as meeting new ones.
