In its first year, the response was stunning. No less than 86% of the visitors judged the integration of mining with bauma to have been “good” or “excellent.” The high quality and quantity of visitors were proof of its success. The 514 exhibitors involved in the mining sector—about 20% of all the exhibiting companies—133 of whom took space in the separate mining area, were of the same mind. There is no doubt that bauma mining benefited from the massively global character of bauma itself and enjoyed being part of the strong demand world-wide in the construction and mining industries. 64xxx-Bauma07-Ausst-E.qxd 01.08.2005 11:38 Uhr Seite 5 GREAT PROSPECTS FOR BAUMA 2007 > More hall space: two additional halls are available in 2007 > More international: global partnerships > More synergy: closer links with the mining industry > More innovations: fantastic platform for launching new products 64xxx-Bauma07-Ausst-E.qxd 01.08.2005 11:38 Uhr Seite 6 AN EXTENSIVE PRODUCT RANGE BAUMA 2007 1. The international range of visitors is especially noteworthy, and especially those from Eastern Europe and Central Asia.” Graduated Engineer Peter Jochums, Managing Director of Hauhinco Maschinenfabrik “We had very good talks with customers both with respect to quality and quantity. The mood among German customers has improved. The orders received at the trade fair were satisfactory and in the threefigure range with a good project situation for trade fair follow-up business.” Wilfried Tschich, Managing Director of Komatsu Deutschland GmbH “We had very good customer response at bauma+mining 2004. The number of visitors from Eastern Europe and Central Asia was especially high. Those are markets with enormous potential. If there is one trade fair that is right for us, then it is bauma.” Jürgen Krekeler, Managing Director of DBT GmbH “bauma started brilliantly on the first trade fair day and ensured a good mood for all involved. On the side of exhibitors, we are very happy about the substantially higher number of visitors from foreign countries. It is especially pleasing to hear that numerous exhibitors reported an unexpectedly high number of orders received from Germany and particularly from foreign countries.” Dr. Reinhold Festge, Managing Director and Partner at Haver & Boecker “bauma offers a valuable opportunity for Caterpillar to showcase a sampling of our many products and services, to highlight innovations and technical advances we’ve made over the last three years, and to connect with a wide range of customers. We congratulate Messe München for the role they’ve played over the past five decades to showcase the everchanging marketplace in which we compete.” James Owens, Chairman & CEO Caterpillar Incorporation “bauma 2004 was a great trade fair, without doubt the number one in the world. Our Spanish members were able to conclude numerous business deals. The great number of visitors from Eastern Europe, Russia and the Near East was especially positive.” Jorge Cuartero, Managing Director of the Association of Spanish Construction Machine Manufacturers “The UK Construction Equipment Association has exhibited at Bauma for many years. We believe this show is unique because its exhibitors and visitors come from every part of the world. It is a global forum for the construction industry and should not be missed by any supplier or service provider in the construction world.” David Redhead, President, The UK Construction Equipment Association “We had a great number of visitors at our booth in the open-air exhibition area from the first day on. The business agreements concluded with customers from all over the world ensured a good atmosphere. Overall, bauma confirmed itself in 2004 as the leading international trade fair for our area too, machines for road construction and maintenance.” Jürgen and Stefan Wirtgen, Managing Directors and Partners at Wirtgen Group “The number of visitors from foreign countries at our booth at bauma has never been so high. It was especially interesting that many interested persons came from the countries that are new members of the E.U., but also from Russia and Dubai. The numerous new contracts and the signals for orders were extremely good.” Wolfgang Fehr, Marketing and Sales Promotion at Peri GmbH “We are very satisfied with how things went at the trade fair. We had substantially more visitors than at the last bauma, which is also reflected in the orders we received. Our increases are in the two-figure percentile range. In spite of our reservations due to the distance between our booth in the hall and on the open-air exhibition grounds, our concept turned out to be a real success.” Ulrich Meyer, Managing Director of Volvo Construction Europe GmbH “We have been exhibiting at bauma since 1986, and the growth of this show has been tremendous,” said Ralph H. Leonard, President of NUMA, a Connecticut-based manufacturer of Down Hole Hammers and Bits for mining applications. “This is the best show in the world for our industry because everything and everyone is here under one roof. No other show boasts such an international audience and can produce worldwide connections that companies could not find elsewhere.” Ralph H.
