Lake River
Lake River is a
flat, 12-mile tributary, of
the Columbia River flowing north from Vancouver
Lake to the Columbia. It is
part of the 32-mile Lewis
River – Vancouver Lake
Water Trail linking Vancouver Lake to Woodland. Sections of the Ridgefield National
Wildlife Refuge border the entire length of
Lake River. A replica of a Chinook village
(“Cathlapotle”) plankhouse can now be seen
near its original location, where Lewis and
Clark landed in 1805.
Obstacle Course
Hilarious thrills, magnificent spills, and
larger-than-life obstacles combine to
make an epic, painfully funny experience
for all ages. Show your jumping, climbing,
and shimmying skills. No set start time.
No timer. Become an obstacle course hero!

Interpretive Paddle
Join the flotilla of kayaks, canoes and stand-up
paddleboards for a two-hour tour. Bring your own,
rent, or help paddle one of the 34’ canoes —
including a Chinook tribal canoe. The Paddle will
start and return at the Mill Street Boat ramp in
Ridgefield and will travel downriver to the
confluence with the Columbia, including stops at
Lewis & Clark’s campsite and the Cathlapotle
Plankhouse.
Totally Awesome Scavenger
Challenge
Turn Ridgefield into a giant game board with
this scavenger hunt that combines the excitement of The Amazing
Race with a sightseeing
tour of Ridgefield and the
Wildlife Refuge. As an
individual, with a buddy, or
as a team, you decipher
clues to find well-known
locations and overlooked
gems of the area while
completing fun and easy challenges, and
learning about wildlife and local history. All
participants receive prizes. Fun for kids and
adults of all ages! Begin at the Port or at
Farmer’s Market in historic downtown
Ridgefield.
