Study in Lublin!
„Lublin is a city where the majority of young people can
pursue their own passions. Additionally, it is a city open
to students and it is they who determine its characteristic
atmosphere in which each of us can find an idea for
improving oneself.”
- Jacek Świstowicz - student of University
of Economics and Innovation in Lublin
LUBLIN –
Academic city
Are you looking for a variety of education opportunities? Do you want to develop yourself in
one of the largest academic centers in Eastern Poland? Lublin is definitely the best place for
you. This is a truly academic space that exists for students!
In Lublin, there are 5 public and 4 private universities. Annually, they educate approx.
70 thousand students from all over the world. Every fifth inhabitant of Lublin is a student
who, with passions and creative potential, creates the image of the friendly, open and innovative city.
In Lublin, you can spread out your wings and do what truly gives you pleasure - from artistic,
to natural, social, legal, medical, and economic faculties.
Open city
The interest of foreign students in Lublin universities
is a confirmation of the quality of the academic offer
of Lublin. Today, we have about 6 thousand foreign
students. They are dominated by the representatives of
the USA, Taiwan, Ukraine and Saudi Arabia. Representatives of 96 countries from all of the inhabited continents
of the world are being educated at Lublin universities in the
academic year 2015/16. Studies for foreigners in Lublin are
characterized by a competitive cost of living, as compared to
other Polish cities.
The „Study in Lublin” project is to help attract talented young people from outside Poland
to our city through a range of instruments, a rich cultural life and scholarships, including the
Scholarship of the Mayor of Lublin. Just type www.study.lublin.eu in your browser to find
a wide range of Lublin universities for foreigners, as well as information about living in the city,
practical advice on the necessary formalities related to the stay, organizations or associations
which can be joined by students.
Cultural city
The culture of Lublin is a valuable part of the life
of our city residents and the natural method of
building bonds between them.
The culture of Lublin is unique, characterized by its
integrating and inclusive potential. It is authentic
and original, because it stems from the local community and the newcomers to the city, young people full
of passion and commitment. It is focused on participation and diversity, on meetings of cultures, religions
and ideas, stimulating residents to explore their own
SELF and other interesting people and the world.
A CITY OF PASSIONATE PEOPLE
Active city
In Lublin, you can definitely not be bored. Modern sports - recreation facilities provide various events the whole year round. Students can use great leisure - sports facilities, including,
among others: the Lublin Arena – a stadium for approx. 15.5 thousand spectators, Aqua
Lublin - the newest and the biggest swimming complex in Eastern Poland, or the Lublin City
Bike - the second largest, after Warsaw, city bike system in Poland.
Innovative city
The city that was recognized as a smart city
2015 combines science and business. The fundamental objective of Lublin is to develop the
city, that unites all stakeholder groups. Common
and coherent actions are to attract new investors to
the city, and the support offered is intended to encourage the creation of innovative projects. Lublin
is called the driving force of Eastern Poland and it is appreciated internationally and known as the European City
of the Future 2015/2016.
Lublin innovation is also reflected in the civic activity of its inhabitants. University teachers treat students as partners. Passing their knowledge and experience, they instill a passion for discovery in young people. As a result, students feel very comfortable
and they show the initiative of new research, experience
and activity.
Entrepreneurial city
Access to the expanded scientific - research facilities
and its geographical location make Lublin stand out
from other Polish cities of similar size.
Strengthening the capacity of companies in Lublin, increased competitiveness and innovation are possible
thanks to close cooperation between business and science.
Such cooperation results in, among others, the creation
of an electric Ekovolt bus, thanks to the cooperation of such
companies as Ursus SA, MPK Lublin Sp. o. o. and the Technical University of Lublin.
The most common areas of the university - business cooperation include the organization of student internships, traineeships with the subsequent possibility of employment, developing themes for theses, scientific research and development work
aimed at direct application in the economy and the organization
of joint presentations, symposiums and conferences.
