One of the most recognized attractions in Long Beach is the Queen Mary, one of the world’s most luxurious ships that once sailed the Atlantic Ocean. The ocean liner features historical tours and several fine restaurants. You can book Behind the Scenes guided tours of the history ocean liner and World War II troopship. | queenmary.com Stroll down to Shoreline Village, a replica of an early California seaport that’s been in Long Beach for more than 25 years, with an array of shops featuring gifts, souvenirs, collectibles, hats, t-shirts, gourmet chocolates, candy and jewelry. You’ll also find restaurants for every taste and pocketbook. 4th Street Retro Row has earned two nicknames, Retro Row and Funky 4th Street, thanks to an avant-garde ensemble of kitschy shops that take us back to bygone eras by selling vintage clothing, antiques, books and collectible furniture. Adding to 4th Street’s Retro spirit is the Art Theater, just recently restored to its 1924 Art Deco glory. In addition to Long Beach’s own Aquarium of the Pacific and the Queen Mary, Long Beach is located near just about everything Southern California has to offer. No doubt you’ll recognize the names of the most popular attractions-Disneyland, Hollywood, Universal Studios and Knott’s Berry Farm. Drive to any one of them in about an hour or less. The number of CEUs to be received is still to be determined. Western University is a statutorily approved CE provider. Humane Officer Training Hours Many of the sessions are designed to provide the education and training required of humane officers under Corporations Code section 14502. Please check the conference website in the coming months for more details as we finalize the schedule. It is important to note that the final decision as to whether a course of training complies with section 14502 rests with the Superior Court having jurisdiction over the humane officer. Questions may be directed to Erica Hughes, Executive Director at SHAC ([email protected] or 510.525.2744). Who should attend? The Animal Care Conference (ACC) brings together all types of professionals who work in California’s shelters to share issues, experiences, and network and learn from one another. The ACC program is structured to allow each attendee to select educational sessions that are pertinent to his or her role in the animal shelter profession. Attendees may choose from sessions, which provide the most current shelter-specific training on animal welfare, best management practices, animal behavior and veterinary treatment. ACC presenters are experts in their field and attendees will leave each session with practical information on how to address their communities’ animal issues. The ACC is the essential conference for animal shelter professionals, from intake specialists to veterinarians. 12/30/15 12:16 AM Collaboration, Cooperation & Partnership Animal Care Conference 2016 Animal Care Conference 2016 Animal Care Conference Registration Form March 6 – 8, 2016 • Long Beach, CA PLEASE USE ONE REGISTRATION FORM PER PERSON Animal Care Conference 2016 Registration & Program Information Please check one: ACO ASO CPT DIR DVM FSO LT MGR OFC Humane OFC RVT SGT Other: Attendee Name (Dr. Mr. Mrs. Ms.): Company/Agency: Payment Contact: Mailing Address: Work Home City/State/ZIP: Fax: I plan on attending the following tracks: Early Bird by Feb 5 Behavior & Training Field Services Standard Onsite by After Feb 22 Feb 22 Saturday, March 5 $150 $150 *$170 9:00 AM–5:00 PM Presented by Core Body Language, with John Wilson (Lunch Included) Regular Registrations Early Bird by Feb 5 CACDA SHAC NON-MEMBER FULL-TIME STUDENT $250 $250 $300 $100 Standard Onsite by After Feb 22 Feb 22 $300 $300 $350 $150 $320 $320 $370 $170 One Day Registrations (circle one: Sun CACDA $150 $175 SHAC $150 $175 NON-MEMBER $200 $225 Mon Tues) $195 $195 $245 Sunday Evening Event Sunday, March 6 5:30 PM–7:00 PM $35 $35 $35 Shelter Management Shelter Medicine Fees Please enter the subtotals from each applicable section below: Pre-Conference Workshop $_____________________ Regular/One Day Registration $_____________________ Evening Event $_____________________ Guest Badges $_____________________ TOTAL DUE $_____________________ Payment Enclosed is a check for $ P.O.
