AT 54 years of age and no
grandchildren to fawn over,
I’m feeling a tad stressed
out at the impending rush of
Christmas. All that cleaning,
cooking and panic shopping
– I’d happily throttle the little
fat man in the red and white
suit. So this grumpy journalist
decided to try out a relaxation
therapy whilst also reducing
the bags under my eyes and
my tired, middle aged look.
The Beauty Rooms recently
opened at the Keadeen Hotel
seemed the perfect location
after an afternoon’s shopping
in Whitewater. Sereena Conroy, the manager/beauty therapist was exceedingly helpful
over the phone and when I explained I needed to combine
a relaxation body treatment
and a revitalising facial, she
patiently went through the
salon’s range of massage and
facial treatments before we
agreed on the Liss Age Excellence Facial.

It was, I fell asleep before

aromatic oils and candles totally seduces one’s senses and
for me, erased the hectic day
that had preceded my booking. Having done an in-depth
analysis of my skin, Sereena
began with a face and neck
massage using drainage movements which also increases
circulation.
After cleansing and exfoliation, a lovely balm was applied, a ‘plumping’ mask to
hydrate and smooth fine lines.
I was in Heaven, totally chilled
and mind blanked out, a rare
occurrence for me. My treatment included a hand and arm
massage plus a scalp massage
before an Excellence lip and
eye cream was applied. Oh,
the seductive indulgence of
it all! Finally a soothing Ex-
cellence Rejuvenating Cream
completed my treatment and
Sereena left me snoring peacefully in the facial room.
The Christmas shopping
has still to be done, the house
needs to be cleaned, the dogs
need to be groomed but for
last weekend, I forgot about
the stress of Christmas and
totally ‘chilled’ after that
