When you log on to Picnick, on the left side of the screen you’ll see a Upload a Photo button. Click
on this and choose the image that you want to make changes to.
2
Once you have chosen your image, it will open the Edit tab and across the top of the screen, you
will see a selection of options which include Crop, Rotate, Resize and Rotate amongst others. Firstly,
we are going to crop our image.
Click on Crop and a nine square grid will appear on your image. At each
corner of this square you will see a circle. You can grab each of these
circles and move them around, which resizes the square. Move this square
around the section of your photo that you want to keep and once you are
happy, click on the OK button. Your image will now be cropped to your
chosen size.

Using the Resize tool, we can change the overall size of our photo if it is too big, or to fit certain
restrictions. For instance, if we want to upload an image to AudioBoo, the size restriction is 300 x
300 pixels.
To do this, click on Resize. A menu will appear at the top of the
screen which allows you to type in the size you want your image
to be. You can also select Use Percentages which allows you to
change the size of your image by percentage, and Keep Proportions which allows you to change the
image without distorting it. When you are happy with your image’s new size, click OK.
5
If you click on the Create tab, you will see a new set of options appear above your image. These
include Effects, which allow you to change your image to black and white, boost colours, and
pixelate your image, and Stickers, which gives you the option to add fun stickers to your photos.
6
We are going to use the Text option. We can use this to add captions to
our images or to add a bit of extra information. Once you have selected
Text, you can type what you want to add in the panel in the top left
corner, then select your font from the options below. When you are
ready, click Add.You will see your text appear on top of your image. You
can change the size and colour of your text using the menu that appears on screen.
7
Once you are happy with your changes, click on the Save and Share button at the top of the screen.
A menu will appear on the left of your screen giving you the option to add a name to your image
and to save it to your computer. Give it a catchy name, choose where to save it and click Save
Photo. Your image is now saved to your computer!
