Stories of War These are some of the tours that the National Heritage Board is presenting with heritage experts, community groups and its Museum Roundtable member-museums to commemorate the 74th anniversary of the battle for Singapore. Tours on: Feb 13, 14 and 27 In Remembrance of WWII at Bukit Brown Cemetery Adam Park is the site of the last battle for Singapore. After the British surrender, it was used as a prisoner-of-war camp. Delve into the exciting world of battlefield archaeology and learn more about the site through the archaeological materials unearthed. Tours on: Feb 14 and 21 Discover untold tales of locals buried at Bukit Brown Cemetery, including the story of a young girl who was about to marry. Her life was cut short while attempting to protect her family from Japanese bombs. Battle of Pasir Panjang Tiong Bahru WWII Stories The Pasir Panjang Ridge was a strategic location of military importance as it overlooked south-western Singapore. It is also the site of one of the last battles before the British surrender of Singapore. Join Tiong Bahru heritage volunteers on a tour of the neighbourhood’s pre-war structures as they share stories of war experienced by residents of one of Singapore’s oldest public housing estates.
