Russian River Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors Nominations and Elections • September 17th — Chamber Board Meeting@ The Chamber is accepting nominations for FIVE director positions on the Board of Directors. There are three (3) two-year terms and two (2) one-year terms available. • September 18th — RRROC 6pm at Guerneville Vet’s Hall • Every Tuesday—RR Rotary, 6:30pm at Highland Dell in Monte Rio • Sept. 8th & 21st — Friends of the Russian River Skatepark 6pm @ River to Coast Child Services • Next Mixer is October 1st Support all local businesses by shopping locally . Nomination forms are available at the Chamber Office and on the Chamber Website. Posted, delivered, or emailed nominations will be accepted until November 12th, 2008 until 12:00pm. After which, additional nominations may be taken from the floor of the General meeting conducted that evening at 6:00pm (location to be determined). Refer to Page 4 for the Nomination Form. September Chamber Mixer—Please RSVP! On Wednesday, September 3rd, the Chamber Mixer is going to be held at River’s End Inn & Restaurant in beautiful Jenner. Due to limited parking space we are organizing a Carpool for members wanting to join us on this lovely evening. Walnut Creek Farmers’ Market Report "Walnut Creek or Bust!" We have had 2 very successful Chamber booths down in Walnut Creek this Summer. They have invited us back next year for another round or two of advertising at their extremely busy Farmer's Market. Tons of brochures were handed out and over 400 Russian River guides. Box 331, Guerneville, Ca 95446 Calabash—Gourd Art Preview @ Quicksilver September 19--October 2 A Preview Exhibition benefiting Food for Thought - Sonoma County AIDS Food Bank CALABASH: A CELEBRATION OF GOURDS, ART & THE GARDEN Sunday, October 5, 2008, 1 - 5 pm 6550 Railroad Avenue, Forestville, CA (Map) Food For Thought, the Sonoma County AIDS Food Bank, and the Occidental Arts and Ecology Center present this fun event featuring a silent auction of fine gourd art, an exhibit of gourd instruments from around the world, live demonstrations in creating gourd art, tours of Food For Thought’s beautiful organic gardens, and seasonal organic food and wine from Sonoma County’s bountiful harvest. Throughout the day, musicians will entertain guests with a variety of hand-made gourd instruments. Over 100 artists have been invited to participate this year, including many well-known Sonoma County and Bay Area gourd artists, some of whom will be displaying their gourd art work for the very first time, bringing their own artistic sensibilities and magic to the gourd form.
