Low Permeation Certified. A United States CARB/EPA
regulatory time line has been established by the Federal
and State agencies that set the permeation level requirements for all Marine Tank Fuel Hoses. This change took
effect January 1, 2009; all fuel hoses must meet the following permeation requirements: < 15 g/m2/day. Permeation can be described as a “wicking
effect” in which the hydro carbon molecules, in the fuel, migrate through the wall of the fuel
line. Canada has introduced MERV legislation governing emission compliance standards for
selected marine products made and/or sold in Canada on certain 2012 and later models. For
additional information visit the Scepter marine website (www.sceptermarine.ca).
All Moeller & Scepter “Low Permeation” hoses will be certified and an executive order will
be present on the hose to indicate the hose meets Federal and State compliancy regulations.
Look for this “Low Permeation” icon on our new fuel lines.

Topside Fuel Tanks
We’ve revolutionized the marine industry standards for topside fuel tanks above 12
gallon capacity, providing engineering that looks and performs better than any other fuel
tanks available. Moeller and Scepter are your one source solution for innovative fuel tank
technology.
We’ve added our new barrier technology to the Low Perm certified topside tank options to meet
these new requirements. This new low perm technology is being used today by the marine industry’s leading boat builders.
Moeller’s topside tanks are manufactured with tough rotationally molded, cross-linked polyethylene plastic and are well suited to today’s highly corrosive ethanol fuels. Topside tanks are available in 6 different
fuel capacities and models that meet the needs of boats manufactured prior to 2011 as well as boats manufactured after 2011 requiring the new “BR” (barrier version) for low permeation standards....”BR” tank models
include an EPA complaint two way auto vented fuel cap and include a manual swing arm sight gauge. Add our
optional electric capsule (Part No. 035760-10) shown on page 25 to the sight gauge and you can direct connect to
a fuel gauge on your dash. The pre-2011 topside tank options include the more traditional cap/sight gauge option without the “BR” technology..Tank capacities are
measured at the full fill line molded in the side of each tank.

Swingarm Mechanical Sending Units
with a direct site gauge or with the
conversion capsule gathers fuel level
information with the float. While
accurate, the gauge will fluctuate as the
fuel in the tank “slosh” around the tank
when boating because of the moving
parts - the float.
Swingarm Electric Sending Units
gather fuel level information the same
way as the mechanical sending units. It
does however connect to a dash mounted
gauge without a conversion capsule.
They are also a DIY product, letting the
consumer measure their tank depth and
make the swingarm the correct length.
