Beat The Heat
and Keep Cool!
Here are some hot weather tips
to keep in mind this summer.
1
Drink plenty of fluids:
Even if you do not feel thirsty, it is
important to stay hydrated. Avoid drinks
with caffeine or alcohol as these can
easily dehydrate you.
2
Wear loose-fitting,
lightweight, light colored clothing:
Avoid dark colors because they absorb the
sun’s rays.
3
Slow down, Stay indoors:
Avoid strenuous exercise during the hottest
part of the day. Postpone outdoor games
and activities.
4
Take frequent breaks:
If you must work outdoors be sure to take
breaks. Use the buddy system when
working in excessive heat.
5
Check on family,
friends and neighbors:
If you know someone doesn’t have air
conditioning, spend much of their time
alone or are more likely to be affected by
the heat, stop by and check on them.
