NEW STUDENT VISA APPLICATION PROCESS (POST-ARRIVAL) FAIL SCENARIO Passed WELCOME TO UCSI UNIVERSITY Failed Appeal Process RM 280 Failed Return home Student need to apply for special pass while waiting for appeal process (entry stamp valid only for a month) Return home and get necessary medical treatment Student must submit 4/26/2016 confirmed flight ticket to return home as a proof. Used in Peninsular Malaysia. iKad is NOT A REPLACEMENT of travel document. Renewal on annual basis Each iKad will contain the following information: Student Photograph Passport Number Nationality of the student Institution Name where the student is studying Duration of the Student Pass In the event that the iKad is lost or damaged, the following fees will be charged from RM150 (first time), RM300 (second time) and RM500 (third time, and onward) After the cancelation of the Student Pass or if the student has graduated, the institution is required to return the Ikad to EMGS. IIS ONLINE PORTAL INTERGRATED INFORMATION SYSTEM INFORMATION Update Malaysian mobile phone number Update student accommodation addresses in Malaysia Personal email address, for IIS verification purposes Parents/guardian’s contact details and home addresses. 23 UPDATING CONTACT DETAILS ON IIS STUDENT PASS APPLICATION RENEWAL Student MUST submit the required documents (renewal checklist items) to VPU 3 MONTHS BEFORE THE STUDENT PASS EXPIRES with AT LEAST 18 MONTHS PASSPORT VALIDITY. The RENEWAL application will not be approved if : The passport validity is less than 18 months; The class attendance is less than 80% ; The academic result is below the 2.0 CGPA; The student exceeded the programme duration; There is an outstanding fees; There is no course selection in the current semester INFORMATION To appeal for the renewal application, you should obtain a Supporting Letter from the Dean of faculty with the official faculty stamp Despite an Appeal Letter has been submitted, the Immigration Department might still reject the renewal application, or, issue a FINAL or shorter period of Student Pass. or next semester, which is applicable NOTE: NO RENEWAL APPLICATION = NO INSURANCE COVERAGE 25 SAMPLE OF RENEWAL CHECKLIST 26 STUDENT PASS APPLICATION RENEWAL PROCESS STUDENT SUBMITS DOCUMENTS TO VPU @UCSI Documents Requested - Passport Copy CTC - Passport-size photo - Educational Transcripts of CGPA 2.0 and above - Attendance Report of 80% and above - Supporting Letter from the Dean/Director (if required) Special Pass (SP) is triggered for late or expired passes Payment Requested - EMGS Processing Fee - Insurance Fee - Immigration Fees Student MUST submit the required documents (renewal checklist items) to VPU 3 MONTHS BEFORE THE STUDENT PASS EXPIRES with AT LEAST 18 MONTHS PASSPORT VALIDITY. RENEWAL PROCESS COMPLETE Actual passport is only needed when application is supported and ready to be sent to the Immigration 4/26/2016 STUDENT PASS APPLICATION RENEWAL PROCESS (REJECTION) Return home If the application is rejected, student will have return home and apply for New VAL should they decide to continue studying in UCSI. 4/26/2016 WHAT HAPPENS WHEN STUDENTS HAVE POOR ATTENDANCE & LOW CGPA Request supporting letter from faculty in order to support your renewal application. The final decision of the renewal application depends solely on Immigration of Malaysia Consequences of poor attendance & low CGPA: Duration of student pass shortened (less than 1 year) Student will be deported back to their country 29 LATE SUBMISSION AND OVERSTAY Late Charge by UCSI University If your Student Pass expires on the 16th of August 2016, you should submit it to the VPU on the 16th of May 2016. Should you submit it on the 16th of July 2016, you are late for 61 days. So, RM30 x 61 days = RM1830 will be charged by the university. Overstay (staying in Malaysia without a valid Student Pass) Will be fined;1st offence RM1000, 2nd Offence RM3000 and/or detention (imprisonment). Deportation VARIATION (APPLICATION OF NEW VAL) MASTERS FOUNDATION FOUNDATION DEGREE DEGREE MASTERS Variation refers to a situation where the student wishes to either change: • Their course of study, or • Their institution of student. Students are ONLY ALLOWED to do a variation (in the same level – from Degree to Degree, or, Foundation to Foundation) TWICE. On their third attempt, it will be rejected. Kindly submit the application document and pay the EMGS 31 Processing Fees ( Refer to Visa Processing Unit ) PROGRESSION (APPLICATION OF NEW VAL) MASTERS DEGREE DOCTOR MASTERS FOUNDATION DEGREE •Refers to a situation where a student have graduated from one level of study and would like to move on to a higher level.
