Buyer must transport from South Carolina. Contact [email protected] or (864)244-3434. __________________________________________________________________ Overall view. Loom was custom built to my specifications, and the frame is similar to that of the production dobby loom, a “four-poster.” There is a foot of extra space built in between the shafts and the warp beams, so that the weaver may comfortably sit inside the loom when tying on new warps behind the shafts. Bench has been removed as I found it too low for me, but will be included with loom and can easily be reattached. I use a barstool-height chair when weaving. Front of loom with chair in place. Breastbeam showing sandpaper surface and auto cloth advance. Left side view of auto cloth advance. Spring assembly of cloth takeup roller, on rt. side of loom. Sectional beam viewed from inside of loom. All 40 shafts in rest position. Underslung beater with thumb button which controls e-Lift. Spring mechanism beneath shafts. Controller box for e-Lift motor. It sits under the loom. Shaft-lifting cam with e-Lift behind it. Rt. side of loom showing dobby box and sliding weight for cloth storage roller. Compudobby IV, AVL’S most recent version. Networked double weave woven on this loom. Further information: The loom was modified for hands-only control, with a thumb button on top of the beater to activate the dobby advance; this can be easily converted back to foot pedal control if desired. Original partial width bench was replaced with a full width built-in bench; both benches were subsequently removed and I use a bar-height chair for weaving. Chair not included, but both benches are included and can be easily reinstalled if desired. Date of loom manufacture is 2002. Original loom came with CD III, but I upgraded to CD IV, which is included. Computer not included. Measurements: 40” weaving width, loom frame is 46” wide, and outside width of beater frame is 55.” Loom is 78” long from front to back, with an additional 6” where sectional warp beam pokes out. Allow extra space in back for when raddle is attached. Loom is 66” high with additional 3 1/2” for shaft mechanism. Buyer must transport from Greenville, South Carolina or arrange for loom disassembly, crating and shipping.
