I am extremely happy to release on-line editions of our college news letter
“VAAGDEVI VAHINI”. Through this news letter, the students and their parents along
with industries and various share holders shall observe complte transparency in our
day to day programmers.
We conducted three workshops namely
(i) Workshop on power quality problems and solution
(ii) Workshop on ERP and business intelligence
(iii) Workshop on Role of English Teachers in professional college to face the
challenges
as faculty development programmes. A national youth festival “Festivites-2K12” was
conducted to bring out the talents. skills creative thinking present in engineering students who are bringing with
dynamic energy NSS units of our college conducted various activities in order to develop holistic personality of
students and to introduce/imbibe service concepts in tendered minds of Engineering students.
We are planning to conduct health awareness and preliminary screening camp in our college camp
and surrounding villages
We are indeed grateful to our college faculty members and students for success they brought to the
college, but we cannot rest assured of future success, for the academic journey ahead is highly competitive
therefore in order to be productive, we need to continue to work hard to maintain the already achieved status
and to attain future success by excelling our own standards. I welcome all first year B.tech , M.B.A and M.Tech
students who are joined our vaagdevi family as members.

FESTIVITES 2K12
Addressing the gallery by Sri.K.N.Rao in Alumina Welcome Function
A National youth festival “FESTIVITES-2K12” was
conducted on 17th March 2012.The significance and soul aim of
this festival is to bring out the talents, skills, creative thinking present
in engineering students who are brimming with dynamic energy.
In his experience, he said that students are learning first
theory then they perform practically in laboratory during college days,
but in real life, first they perform activities then they learn the concept beyond the activity. So each student must learn the things with
bold, courage, honesty, enthusiasm, which brings “BRAND” to the
college.
In his address, Principal advised the final year students
about career development after completion of studies, don’t do the
job for the sake of money or anything else. Do the job with spirit
and involvement which brings growth and development for society
and personally.
Releasing of CD proceedings in Festivities by dignitories
The “FESTIVITES-2K12” was inaugurated by Chief Guest
Prof.K.Soundarajan, Ex-Rector ,JNTUA, Anantapur. In his speech,
he expressed that there is a gap between industry and education
institution regarding technological aspects and utilization of
modern technology. He emphasized the need to reduce the gap
between these two organizations.
Cultural activities conducted on the occasion of welcome function
In this function, the chief guest Sri.K.N.Rao was released
the CD of alumina update directory.
All HOD’s and senior faculty members advised students
regarding Alma mater. Some of the new alumni members shared
their experiences in four years B.Tech and three years MCA life
with juniors in college campus.
As a part of FESTIVITES-2K12, Paper presentations,
sports and various cultural events were conducted. For paper
presentation, 65 technical papers out of 400 received from various
institutions were presented. Sri.K.Rama Sekhar Reddy, Assistant
Professor, JNTUCEP, Pulivendula was acted as subject expert for
EEE Department. Sri.C.Chandra Mohan Reddy , Assistant
Professor, JNTUCEP, Pulivendula, was acted as subject expert for
ECE Department. Prof. Subba Rao Professor, AITS, Rajampet
was acted as jury member for CSE & IT departments.
For sports and games events, 11 teams of volleyball,
6 teams of throw ball are participated from different institutions.
For Cultural activities, 14 teams were participated from different
institutions. Cash prizes and certificates were given to best papers
presented, best Volley ball team, Throw ball team and best cultural
team.
Principal Dr. N. Kumara Swamy, presented the annual
report of this institution by highlighting achievements of academic,
curricular and co-curricular activities. Sri. G. Hussain Reddy,
Secretary & Correspondent advised all the students to put their
efforts and energies to achieve their goals and he said that opportunities of jobs were slowly increasing towards industrialization

COLLEGE DAY CELEBRATIONS
The College Day of Vaagdevi Institute of Technology &
Science was celebrated on 5th April 2012. Sri.R.Nagaraju, VicePresident &Plant Head, ICL Chilamkur has attended as a Chief
Guest for this celebrations and he congratulated management, Principal and faculty members for their continuous concentration on
student performance, studies and other activities. He appreciated
the Management for giving Cash Awards to the teaching staff and
students for their excellent performance. He suggested that students should come out from colleges with innovative ideas which
need the present society and he advised the students to utilize the
facilities available in the college campus. Sri. Ramana Rao Chief
general manager, SBI, Proddatur attended as Guest of Honour.

1.Work Shop on Power Quality Problems and Solutions
Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering
conducted a National level one day workshop on “Power quality
problems & Solution’s using simulation models” on 12th march
2012. Sri P.Ramanuja Babaji, director of administration acted
as chief guest for this workshop. Dr.N.Kumara swamy, principal
acted as a chairperson for this workshop. The resource person for
this workshop was Dr P.Ram kishore Kumar Reddy, associate
professor, MGIT, Hyderabad.

He explained about various power quality problems in
encountered in day to day life due to the increased use of Power
electronic devices such as Sag,Swell,Hormonics,Transients,etc.
He simulated Power quality problems in MATLAB/SIMULINK for
analysis and mitigation.
2. Workshop on ERP and Business Intelligence :
Department of management studies conducted a
National level one day workshop on “ ERP & Business
intelligence” on 10th march 2012.

acted as a chairperson for this workshop.The resource persons for
this workshop were Sri.S.Sampath Kumar, MD, Propel
technologies, Hyderabad & Sri.M.Sudharshan Reddy, Director,
Leaf consultancy ltd, Hyderabad.

The workshop was focused on latest software’s on sound
and language demonstrations, challenges before language teachers in rural colleges.VIT Professors created awareness and orientation to execute the tasks successfully in laboratory. The students

He explained about ERP, SAP, Business Intelligence and
their methodology & Implementation strategies. These methods
provide deserved services to customers by making necessary
decisions for production and distribution. Further , he stated that
optimization of cost and demand forecasting are essential for successful running of business.
3.Workshop on Role of English Teachers in Professional
Colleges to face the Challenges
Department of Basic sciences and Humanities
conducted a state level one day workshop on “Role of
English Teachers in professional colleges to face the
challenges” on 31st march 2012 for making the language lab
more effective and enhancing employability skills among rural
students

based on parameters such as workload,students feed back, University exam results ,paper presentations and contribution to college

Sri K. Appa Rao, Chief guest addressing the gathering
in eradication of drug addiction program organised by
NSS unit - I
In order to eradicate drug addiction and its abuse,
a workshop was conducted on 24 th August 2012. Sri
K.AppaRao , Anti-Drug Addiction All India Vice President
acted as chief guest and resource person. He addressed
the NSS Volunteers how the present day youth is involving
in the drug addiction and explained the impacts of drug addiction with real time examples which are happened recently
in our
country. He advised students that every student
should be away from drugs and unethic behaviours. His
speech transformed the minds of students such that they
can avoid drugs.
2. Mother Teressa Birth Day Celebrations
Dr.N.Kumara Swamy , Principal interacting with old age people at
Veerabramhendra Swamy old age home , Proddatur.
NSS Volunteers Celebrated “Mother Teressa 103rd birthday” at Veerabramhendra Swamy Old age Home in Proddatur
town on 27/08/2012. NSS Volunteers served food and fruits to all
intimates of old age home. At end of program , students realized
that their parents should not suffer after become old.
3.Donation of Rs20,000/- to physically
handicaped person :
NSS Volunteers collected and donated Rs20,000/- to
Physically Handicapped R.Venkateswarlu who lost two legs
in train accident on 18/08/2012.
4.Serving old age people at old age home to take
care of their parents in future:
On the eve of Gandhi Jayanthi on 2nd October 2012 ,
“BLOOD GROUPING PROGRAMME” was conducted at
Sivalayam Temple ,Proddatur. Blood samples of 300members were tested with the help of Biotechnology students
from Rani Tirumala Degree College , Proddatur and the donors list with their corresponding blood group and their contact details were given to govt hospital , Proddatur and other
private hospitals for any emergency cases and whenever
blood is needed.
6.Program on Sanitation and "Nirmalgram Puraskar Award " :
On the eve of NSS Day Celebrations, an awareness
program on Sanitation and Nirmalgram Puraskar Award was
conducted at Peddasettypalli village on 24/09/2012. The sanitation measures to be taken by the villagers to get Nirmalgram
Puraskar Award and benefits to the villagers were explained
to them by providing pamhlets

NSS unit have been conducting number of blood donation camps through out the year at various location in the

met with accidents for subjected to the operations or in any
