A perfect climate with warm dry days and cool summer nights makes for extra sweet watermelons. Founders, Ed and Ethel challenged their son Bob (while still in middle school) to test his farming skills. With 4 acres under his watch he prepped the soil, planted, tended, havested and sold the final crop with no assistance from his proud parents. Later Bob and his family expanded the farming operation into 450 acres, which included 130 acres of watermelons.
