Military Toy Figure from Dollar Stores
Date of recall: January 6th, 2010
This mini military toy set is packaged on a blister card and includes a male
figure about four inches high with various military accessories. They were
sold in Dollar Stores and other discount stores from November 2008 until
April 2009.
Reason for the recall:
The surface paint on the toy has too much lead.
What should you do?
Immediately take the figure and accessories away.

“Big Rex and Friends” Cloth Book
Date of recall: January 8th, 2010
The book has a black and white striped border with a red dinosaur on the
cover.
The phrase “Big Rex and Friends” is printed on the cover as well. ISBN
numbers 031249260X or 9780312492601 are printed on the back of the
book.
The books were sold at Barnes & Noble, Toys “R” Us, Amazon, Borders,
and other booksellers from May 2004 until November 2009 for around $9.
Reason for the recall:
A red plastic dot sewn in the book contains too much lead.
What should you do?
Immediately take the book away.

Horse Toy Figurines by Blip Toys
Date of recall: January 26th, 2010
This particular recall involves the Nature Wonders HD Pinto Horse toy figures with model number
92093. This plastic horse is white with brown spots and measures around 4 inches high.
The model number and “Nature Wonders HD” can be found on the retail tag wrapped around the horse’s
leg. They were sold at Walmart stores from January 2009
through July 2009 for around $4.
Reason for the recall:
The surface paint on the horse contains too much
lead.
What should you do?
Immediately take the horse figures away from
children.

replacement toy.
Danbar Knight Hawk Toy Helicopters at Radio Shack
Date of recall: January 26th, 2010
This recall is in regards to the Danbar Knight Hawk 3D Remote Control Toy Helicopters, model number
006047, which can be found on the back of the controller. There is a Knight Hawk 3D logo printed on
the front of the controller.
The product was sold at Radio Shack as catalog number 600-0566 (60-566) for ages 8 and up from
October 2009 until December 2009 for about $60.
Reason for the recall:
The battery housing under the helicopter canopy can overheat while charging, creating a fire
hazard.
There has been 1 report of a fire that started when a store demo was charging.
What should you do?
Immediately take the helicopters away.
Return the toys to the nearest Radio Shack for a full refund.

Princess and the Pea Necklaces at Walmart
Date of recall: January 29th, 2010
These recalled necklaces come in two
designs. The first is shaped like a crown.
It has a model number of 4616-4187 and a
UPC # of 72783367144.
The second is shaped like a frog and has
model number 4616-4190 and a UPC # of
72783367147.
Both pendants are on a metal link chain
and come in a crown hinged box.
The packaging has the phrase “Princess
and the Pea” on it and contains the model
and UPC numbers above. The necklaces were sold exclusively at Walmart from November 2009 through
January 2010 for around $5.
Reason for the recall:
The necklaces contain high levels of cadmium, which is toxic to young children.
What should you do?
Immediately take the necklaces away.
Return the jewelry to any Walmart store for a full refund or replacement product.

Papyrus Greeting Cards with Bracelets
Date of recall: February 2nd, 2010
This recall involves Papyrus brand greeting cards that were sold with an attached wooden bead bracelet.
The front of the card says Happy Birthday to You, and includes a attached heart-shaped bead that says
smile on it.
The bracelet is made of very colorful beads, one of which is a butterfly. The back of the greeting card
says “BD 6340CAN1 | © Jean Card & Gift Company” and the card insert says “USA $6.95 | CAN $10.50
| Made in China | © Jean Card & Gift Company” and includes the UPC number 734524634013 in the
lower right corner.
These cards were sold at card stores and other retailers from February 2004 until September 2009 for
about $7.
Reason for the recall:
The surface paint coating on the bracelets sold with the cards contain too much lead. Lead is
toxic to young children.
What should you do?
Immediately stop using the bracelet.

Tiny Tink and Friends Children’s Toy Jewelry Sets
Date of recall: February 2nd, 2010
About 252,000 Tinker Bell and Friends Children’s Toy Jewelry Sets are being recalled. These sets
contain a tiny charm that is attached to a cord using a metal ring and cylinder. The charm was included as
a separate accessory that children can attach to the toy necklace, bracelet, or key chain.
Those charms that have plastic tabs, rather than metal rings and cylinders, are not being recalled. These
sets were sold nationwide from November 2008 through November 2009 for between $6 and $8 each.

Reason for the recall:
The cylindrical metal connector on the charm (see
picture right) has too much lead, and violates Federal
standards. Lead is toxic to young children.
What should you do?
Immediately take the charm and cord away from
children and discard them.

Special Forces and Police SWAT Toy Gun Sets
Date of recall: February 3rd, 2010
The toys being recalled here are sold as Special Forces
Weapons and Accessories Set and a SWAT Police Play
Equipment Set.
Both sets include two toy guns and related accessories.
The number 48JQH09 is printed on the right side of the
larger gun.
The gun sets were sold at Dollar General stores in 35 states

Reason for the recall:
The orange tips located at the end of the toy gun barrels, and are designed to distinguish them as
toys and not real guns, can come off, creating a choking hazard.
What should you do?
Immediately take away the toy guns.

Wind Chime Toys by Tiny Love
Date of recall: February 10th, 2010
This recall involves wind chime toys manufactured by Tiny Love, Inc. The recalled toys were sold
individually or as part of a set as Gymini Kick & Play Activity Gym and Tiny Smarts Gift Sets. The toys
produce the sounds of a wind chime.
The phrase “Tiny Love” is printed on a tag located on the toy. You can see the item numbers and picture
below. The wind chimes were sold at Toys R Us, Walmart, Target, Buy Buy Baby, and TJ Maxx stores
nationwide from February 2002 through February 2010 for about $8 separately, $22 for the Tiny Smarts
Gift Set, and $70 for the Gymini Activity Gym. (Wind chimes sold with other activity gyms are not
being recalled.)

Reason for the recall:
The wind chime toy can be pulled apart, exposing sharp metal rods, which creates a puncture and
laceration hazard.
There have been 5 reports of babies pulling the wind chimes apart and exposing the sharp metal
rods.
There was one 24-month-old baby who punctured his cheek with the rods.
What should you do?
Immediately take away the recalled wind chimes.

Manhattan Toys Pull-Alongs: Toucan, Alligator, and Sharky
Date of recall: February 10th, 2010
This recall involves three different styles of pull-along toys manufactured by Manhattan Toys: Pull-ALong Friends Toucan (with lot code 210720GB), Pull-A-Long Friends Alligator (with lot code
210750GB), and Pull-A-Long Friends Sharky (with lot code 210530GB).
The toucan has a large yellow and black beak and blue striped wings. The alligator is green with a red
ridge on his back. The shark has blue swirls painted on its wheels and an orange wooden fish on the pull
string. You can find the lot codes printed on the bottom of each toy.
The toys were sold at gift and specialty stores nationwide, online, and through catalogs from September
2009 through January 2010 for about $22 each.

The toys have wooden compartments that can break off, creating a choking hazard.

Date of recall: March 2nd, 2010
These spoon and fork sets are white plastic with cartoon images on the handles. They were sold at Dollar
Tree Stores and Deals in January 2010 for $1 per set.
Reason for the recall:
The middle two prongs of the plastic fork can come off, creating a choking hazard.
There has been one report of a middle prong coming off, with no injuries.
What should you do?
Immediately take the set away from children.
Return them to Dollar Tree or Deals for a full refund.

Date of recall: March 3rd, 2010
These bracelets were sold in packets of 24 and are gold
with stripes of red, maroon, black, orange, or green.
They were sold at Chandigarh Fashion Stores in
Flushing, N.Y. and Sonia Selections stores in Chicago,
IL from May 2007 through August 2008 for about $2.
Reason for the recall:
The surface coating on the bracelets contain
high levels of lead, which is toxic to children.
What should you do?
Immediately take the bracelets away.
Return to the store where purchased for a full refund.
Children’s Metal Charm Christmas-Themed Bracelets
Date of recall: March 11th, 2010
This is a warning, not a recall, involving Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer brand children’s Christmas
and winter-themed bracelets. The two styles being affect are the Bumble Snowman and the Rudolph the
Red-Nosed Reindeer.
The bracelets were sold for winter and Christmas-themed charms including a snowman, Christmas tree,
candy cane, and snowflake. They were sold at discount and dollar-type stores nationwide from 2006 and
March 2009 for about $1.
Reason for the recall:
The bracelets contain high levels of cadmium. Cadmium is extremely toxic to young children.
What should you do?
Immediately take them away from children and throw them away.
The firm that made them (Buy-Rite Designs of New Jersey) is no longer in business, so no
contact information is available.

April, 2010 Recalled Toys
Gund Baby Paperboard Books
Date of recall: April 6th, 2010
This recall involves three miniature children’s paperboard books with plastic
handles designed as baby rattles. They include “Animals” (item number
059174), “Numbers” (item number 059175) and “Colors” (item number
059176). The books were also sold as a three-book set (item number 059173).
The phrase “Gund” and the item number are located on the back of the books.
The books measure 4.5” by 7”.
The books were sold at gift and specialty stores nationwide from January 2009
through March 2010 for about $8 or $20 for the set.
Reason for the recall:
The foam used to fill the book binding can detach, creating a choking
hazard.
There have been three reports of children mouthing the Styrofoam that
detached from the books. No injuries have been reported.
What should you do?
Immediately take the books away.

Step 2 Basic Rhythms Drums
Date of recall: April 27th, 2010
These toy drums were intended for preschool children
and were sold with two drumsticks that can be stored in
clips on the side of the drum. A red “Step2” logo is
printed on the side of the drum. The toys were sold at
Toys R Us, Burlington Coat Factory, and other stores
from August 2009 through March 2010 for between $10
and $15.
Reason for the recall:
The plastic clips used to attach the drumsticks
to the drum can break. Those small broken
pieces are a choking hazard.
What should you do?
Immediately take the drum away.

May, 2010 Recalled Toys
Fly Dragonfly / Queen Bee Remote-Controlled Helicopters
Date of recall: May 12th, 2010
This recall involves the “Fly Dragonfly” (also known as “Queen Bee”) remote-controlled helicopters.
The helicopters are black and yellow plastic, and measure about 19 inches long by 6.5 inches high. The
helicopters have a rounded front yellow cockpit with bee decals and a narrow black tail assembly. They
were sold with remote-control unit and a separate charger. The phrase “Fly Dragonfly” and SKU # 51727
are printed on the packaging.
The helicopters were sold at book/gift fairs held in schools, hospitals, and office buildings from August
2009 through January 2010 for about $38.
Reason for the recall:
The rechargeable battery inside the helicopters can overheat, igniting the helicopter and posing
fire and burn hazards.
There have been 49 reports of the batteries overheating, including 6 reports of flames coming out
of the helicopter, and 1 report of minor property damage.

Push Around and Whisper Ride Buggies by Step 2
Date of recall: May 12th, 2010
The Push Around Buggy and the Whisper Ride Buggy are ride-on toys. The buggy comes in various
colors: orange, blue, red, blue, pink, and green. They have the red “Step2” logo on the handle of the
buggy. Those buggies that have a handle attached by a bolt with a plastic white or black head and nut are
NOT included in this recall.
The buggies were sold at major retailers and specialty stores from August 1999 through March 2010 for
between $29 and $59.
Only buggies with pins that have yellow knobs are included in this recall.
Reason for the recall:
A pin attaching the yellow knob on the handle of the buggy can come off, separating the handle
from the buggy.
There have been 28 reports of the handle coming off; 2 required professional medical treatment
and 26 resulted in minor cuts and bruises.

Toy Dart Guns sold at Family Dollar Stores
Date of recall: May 17th, 2010
The recalled toy dart guns were sold exclusively at Family
Dollar stores. The “Auto Fire” toy target set is sold with
either an orange and yellow toy gun (item #P238) or a blue
and yellow
toy gun (item #9328), eight orange darts and a
small target with numbers from 1 to 20.
The gun’s item number is located on one side of the handle in
raised lettering. The soft plastic darts measure just over 1 inch
in length and have a small suction cup at one end with a
diameter of about ½ inch. The target board is black, yellow,
red, and green, and measures 5 inches in diameter.
The phrase “Gordy Toy” and “Ages 8+” is printed on the
packaging. They were sold from September 2005 through
January 2009 for about $1.50.
Reason for the recall:
If a child places the soft pliable plastic toy dart in his
mouth, it can be inhaled into the throat, causing
asphyxiation.
There have been 2 deaths by asphyxiation involving a 9-year-old boy from Chicago, IL and a 10year-old boy from Milwaukee, WI.
What should you do?
Immediately take away the toy sets from children.
Return the guns to any Family Dollar store for a full refund.

June, 2010 Recalled Toys
“Shrek Forever After 3D” Collectible Glasses from McDonalds
Date of recall: June 4th, 2010
The “Shrek Forever After 3D” glasses are 16 ounces and came in four designs: Shrek, Fiona, Puss ‘n
Boots, and Donkey. They were sold exclusively at McDonald’s stores nationwide from May 2010 into
June 2010 for about $2.
Reason for the recall:

The designs on the glasses contain cadmium. Long term exposure to cadmium can cause adverse
health effects.
What should you do?
Immediately stop using the glasses and return them to any McDonald’s for a refund of $3 each.

Beado Handheld Bead Toys
Date of recall: June 10th, 2010
This recall involves the Beado hand-held beaded play toy with model number 1501 and date code 02910
04323A. The product measures 6 inches in diameter and is composed of 4 blue plastic “hubs”, 6 white
plastic “wires” and 12 multi-colored beads that slide along the wires. The model number and date code
are printed on the bottom of the packaging and the date code is also inside one of the blue hubs.
Beados that have a different date code than 02910 or have a date code of 02910 and an inspection sticker
on the bottom of the packaging and a black mark by the date code inside the hub have been inspected and
are NOT a part of this recall.
They were sold in specialty toy stores from March 2010 through May 2010 for about $12.
Reason for the recall:
The toy’s plastic wires can come off the hubs due to poor adhesive. This allows the beads to slide
off, creating a choking hazard.

Date of recall: June 30th, 2010
The “Happy” Charm bracelet contains colorful beads on a small elastic band to which a metal charm
bracelet in the shape of a butterfly, moon, or sun is attached. The football ring is a small adjustable metal
band to which a football charm (made of metal) is attached.
They were given away at doctor and dentist offices nationwide from June 2005 through March 2010.
Reason for the recall:
The metal substrate in the jewelry contains high levels of cadmium, which is toxic to young
children.

The recalled coin purse has rainbow stripes and the
jewelry (earrings and necklaces) have blue, pink,
red, white, and yellow colored droplets.
You can find the phrases “The Coin Purse” and
“Mobile Case Coin Purse” printed on the tag
attached to the purse.
The phrases “Colorful Drop Accessory Bracelet”
and “Colorful Drop Accessory Piece” can be seen
printed on the front of the packaging.
The tag and the packaging have the phrase
“Produced for Daiso Japan” printed on the front or
the back.
The items were sold at Daiso stores in California
and Washington from May 2009 through December
2009 for about $1.50.

Little People Play ‘n Go Campsite
Date of recall: August 5th, 2010
This 7-piece playset includes Sonya Lee, a tent, and other accessories.
Product number R69 35 is printed on the toy’s package. The name
“Sonya Lee” is printed on the underside of the figure.
Only those Sonya Lee characters that bend at the waist, have a green
sweater and a purple camera around her neck are being recalled. No
other Sonya Lee figures are being affected. The remaining pieces of the
Play ‘n Go Campsite are not affected.
This set was sold at major stores nationwide and in Puerto Rico from
October 2009 through August 2010 for about $15.
Reason for the recall:
The plastic Sonya Lee character can break at the waist,
exposing small parts that are a choking hazard.
What should you do?
Immediately take the Sonya Lee figure away.

Magnetic Maze Boards
Date of recall: August 26th, 2010
These magnetic maze boards are made of wood and have a clear plastic sheet that covers small wooden or
plastic pieces located inside a maze. A plastic wand with a magnet on the tip is attached to the board by a
cord. The wand is used to move figures inside the maze.
The top of the board has the phrase “Who’s Hiding in the Garden,” “Who’s Hiding in the Ocean,”
“Magnetic Counting Maze,” “Magnetic Alphabet Board,” or “My Community Magnetic Board” printed
on it.
The boards were sold by Lakeshore Learning Materials stores nationwide, through their catalogs, and
their online store from January 2009 through May 2010 singly or in sets from between $30 and $40.
Reason for the recall:
The plastic wand can separate and expose the magnet located at the tip. Besides being a choking
hazard, small magnets can cause serious digestive damage. If more than one magnet is
swallowed, they can attach to each other inside the intestines and cause a very serious, even fatal,
blockage.
What should you do?
Immediately take the maze away.

Date of recall: September 7th, 2010
This toy is a standalone play station for children ages 2 and up. The toy station consists of a round blue
plastic table, including train tracks, train cars in blue, red, and yellow, toy sailboats, and a hand
rake/shovel.
A red “Step2” logo is printed on the side of the
table. Train cars with grey wheels are not being
recalled.
The toy stations were sold at Target and other
major retailers from December 2008 through
June 2010 for between $49 and $59.
Reason for the recall:
The light blue plastic wheels on the train
can come off, creating a choking hazard.
What should you do?
Immediately take the train cars away.

“Play with Your Veggies” Toys by Land of Nod
Date of recall: September 8th, 2010
This play set contains vegetables made of felt wool. The
toy set has six vegetables: a radish, an onion, an
asparagus, a tomato, lettuce, and a carrot. The asparagus
is the only toy being recalled.
The sets were sold at Land of Nod stores in Illinois and
Washington, in the Land of Nod catalog, and in their
online store from October 2007 through February 2010
for about $25.
Reason for the recall:
The metal wire in the toy asparagus can become
exposed, creating a laceration hazard.
There has been one report of an exposed wire in
the asparagus, with no injuries.
What should you do?
Immediately take away the toy asparagus.

Click Bracelets, Klick Klick Balls and BoBo Balls by Fun Stuff
Date of recall: September 14th, 2010
The items being recalled are the Click Armband Bracelets, Klick Klick Balls, and BoBo Balls. They are
all made of stretchy, rubber material and have hard plastic colorful balls attached at the end of the toy’s
arms. They have orange, green, pink, purple, and blue colored balls. The BoBo balls have a flashing
lighted ball encased inside the stretchy material.
The item number for the Click Armband Bracelets is FS1842. The item number for the Klick Klick Balls
is FS1734. The item number for the BoBo Balls is FS1814. You can locate the item numbers on the
products packaging.
They were sold at beach resort stores nationwide from January 2009 through August 2010 for between $2
and $5.
Reason for the recall:
The small balls on the end of the toy’s arms can come off, creating a choking hazard.
The toys were marketed for children 3 and over. However, the CPSC has designated these toys
as being made for children between 19 and 35 months of age.
There was one report of a ball detaching in a 21-year-old girl’s mouth in Charlotte, NC. No
medical attention was required.

Chuck E. Cheese Light-Up Rings and Star Glasses
Date of recall: September 15th, 2010
Light-Up Rings:
These rings were distributed as part of a promotional product offering
or during parent-teacher association conventions.
They measure 1 1/8 inches across and is made of plastic with a black
elastic band. They come in a variety of colors: blue, green, purple,
yellow, and pink. The back of the ring is secured with either screws
or glue.
They were distributed between April 2009 through June 2010.
Star Glasses:
The glasses were distributed as part of a birthday package. They
measure about 5.5” across by 2.5” tall and are made of a red translucent
plastic. They have the phrase “Chuck E. Cheese” painted on the side.
They were distributed between April 2010 through August 2010.
Reason for the recall:
If crushed or pulled apart, the plastic casing can break into
small pieces, exposing the battery and creating an ingestion
hazard.
There have been 2 reported incidents involving the Light-Up
Rings. One involve a child swallowing the battery. The second
involved a child inserting the battery into his nostril.
There are no reported incidents with the Star Glasses.
What should you do?
Immediately take both the rings and the glasses away.
For the Light-Up Rings: Return it to any Chuck E. Cheese to
receive your choice of either a refund of $1.00 plus 4 tokens,
OR a Soccer Promo-Cup plus 4 tokens.

The giant stars in these building sets are 5” in diameter and are made of opaque plastic. Each star has six
knobs protruding from a ring-shaped center. The Giant Starbuilder set contains red, green, yellow, and
blue stars. The Giant Star set contains red, yellow, green, blue, orange, and pink stars.
The sets were sold at small retail stores nationwide and online at Target.com, ToysRUs.com,
Amazon.com, and CSN through Walmart Marketplace from January 2007 through May 2010 for between
$25 and $35.

The plastic knobs can break off from the center,

The metal rings and necklaces contain high levels of lead. Lead is extremely dangerous to the
brain-development of children.

Spa Factory Aromatherapy Kits
Date of recall: October 15th, 2010
This is a reannouncement of a product recall of the Spa Factory Aromatherapy Kits that was in January
2009. Since that recall, there have been additional injuries, which have prompted this second
announcement.
The injuries were caused by the Spa Factory Spa Fantasy Aromatherapy Fountain & Bath Benefits Kits
that were sold at Sam’s Club, Walmart, Target and other stores nationwide from August 2008 through
August 2010. They sold between $13 and $50 and are currently available for purchase in some stores.

Reason for the recall:
Pressure from the buildup of carbon dioxide in the jars of Bath Bombs/Balls or Bath Fizzles that
come with the kits can cause the unvented lids to blow off, posing explosion and projectile
hazards. The flying pieces can also cause property damage.
Also, the mixture of water with Bath Bombs/Balls or Bath Fizzies can create citric acid. This
acid can get into consumers eyes when the jars explode, posing a risk of eye irritation.
Since it was original recalled in 2009, there have been 12 additional reports of exploding
unvented jars of JAKKS’ Bath Bombs/Balls and Bath Frizzies, including 13 reported injuries.
The new injuries include irritated eyes, irritated skin, and one eye injury from projectile jar lids.
What should you do?
Immediately take away the toy’s jars and caps without vent holes away from children and throw
away any jar lids that do not have vents.

Date of recall: October 18th, 2010
These bathtub subs are battery-operated and are yellow, have a smiling face, turquoise windows, and
orange propeller and an orange periscope that turns the toy on and off. The intake valve has a water
pump that sucks in water to propel the submarine. It is intended to be used during bath time.
They were sold at mass merchandisers from November 2009 through September 2010 for about $7.
Reason for the recall:
The intake valve on the bottom of the toy can suck
up loose skin, creating a laceration hazard.
There have been 19 incidents of lacerations to boys’
genital area. One of the incidents required medical
attention.
What should you do?
Immediately take the toy away.

Date of recall: October 19h, 2010
These flashlights are about 6.5” long and have the Wolverine, Spider-Man, and Iron Man characters and
names printed on them. They come with five extra mini discs that attach to the flashlight to project
various images. The back of the packaging lists the number 16879-20012-003-1003 and UPC 6 39277
16879 5.
They were sold at various dollar stores from August 2010 through October 2010 for $1.
Reason for the recall:
The flashlights can cause the batteries (and/or the blub) to overheat, creating a fire and burn
hazard.
There have been 3 reports of incidents where the batteries overheated. One incident involved a
flashlight that melted and in another incident the battery started on fire. No injuries have been
reported.
What should you do?
Take the recalled flashlights away immediately.
Discard the batteries and return the flashlights to the store where purchased for a full refund.
