ARKTIK is so-called due to the cool, white light the luminaire emits. This pleasing light output
offers a calm working environment that can be positively contrasted with the traditional bright and

ARKTIK-ME is a luminaire that is designed for the future commercial environment. Featuring cutting-edge LED
technology, the luminaire also incorporates a range of features ensuring the luminaire combines maximum
performance with design flair and stylish looks.
Uniformity of light
The luminaire has a discreet, flush look that is complemented by a curved, reeded prismatic diffuser that emits a soft, subtle and uniform light
output. The diffuser is designed to establish shadow-free light distribution and ensure the greatest visual comfort for the end-user.
Longer life and serviceability
Reliability and long-life are the cornerstone of an effective LED luminaire. ARKTIK-ME will achieve 50,000 hours of maintenance-free
performance to industry standard L70. Over the total lifetime of the luminaire, light output and reliability are maintained accordingly.
At the end of life, the boards are designed to be easily unplugged and replaced.
Low energy consumption
Lower energy bills are guaranteed for users of ARKTIK-ME. The luminaire delivers more light output for less energy than any comparative
luminaire on the market – this is without compromise to performance or reliability. As a result we can offer class leading lumens/watt/m2.
Thermal management
ARKTIK ME has an innovative design that protects the integrity of the luminaire electronics by safely and effectively dissipating all thermal gain
throughout the body of the luminaire. The luminaire is suitable for all types of ceiling void and recessed installation.
High performance
ARKTIK-ME is driven by a powerful on-board solid-state technology which delivers market leading light output. Manufactured and designed
in-house at our factory in Germany, RIDI’s new generation boards only use leading industry LED chips that have been tested to perform in
our luminaires. This performance ensures that required lux levels for work spaces and other zones are reached with fewer luminaires than is
traditionally needed for a standard office layout. Fewer luminaires = lower costs.

Arktik is the Cool Choice for
Bath Academy School
Pictured here, Oldfield School in Bath has included a
number of Arktik-LEDs to a newly constructed wing of
classrooms. The lighting scheme is extremely efficient with
the school opting for our Arktik-LEDs and combining them
with absence/presence detection and daylight sensors.
With an output of 5200 lumens, the project has just 8
luminaires per classroom – compared to 12 if a general
fitting had been selected – offering a saving on installation
costs and reducing the impact of the LED cost premium.
Coupled with a 50,000 hour lifespan and 5 year warranty,
the LED technology is extremely accessible and with the
addition of our Class Control lighting management system,
the payback time on the installation has been dramatically
reduced.
The Arktik-LED heralds the arrival of LED in a standard
modular lighting format and has found a natural home
on this academy project. It combines stylish looks and
exceptional performance with an installed load of just 360w.

Technical details, accessories and options
Design: Recessed LED luminaire for 600 ceiling module. Stable luminaire housing in white powder-coated steel, colour similar to RAL9016. Optical control held in the
luminaire housing with spring catches, hinges down on both sides with automatic connection to the earth conductor.
LED module formed as a circuit board. Mid-power LEDs ensure even illumination and maximum efficiency. Total luminous flux of the LED modules 5200 lm, colour
rendering index Ra>80, colour temperature 4000 Kelvin, other colour temperatures possible on request.
LED driver prefitted in luminaire housing. Operation at safety extra-low voltage below 60 Volt (SELV-conformity). Suitable for direct voltage operation and use in
emergency lighting systems.
Electrical versions:
• Electronic DALI converter for LED, 230 Volt, 0/50-60 Hz and internal connector block.
• Electronic converter for LED, 230 Volt, 0/50–60 Hz and internal connector block.
Mounting: Recessed mounting in different ceiling systems with suitable fixing kit, or lay-in mounting in ceiling systems with visible trunking and laid-in ceiling panels.
For lay-in mounting , no additional fixing accessories are required.
