Creative Partnership
Program—
Dance Ontario's Creative Partnerships
Program will provide $2,000 in production/
creation support to each of two choreographers
for NEW work to be premiered at DanceWeekend'14 next January. An additional $2,000 in performance fees per choreographer will also be
provided.
Choreographers whose membership is
current at the time of submission are eligible to
apply. All forms of dance will be considered and
two works each approx 15 minutes in length will
be selected.
The Association's Selection Committee
looks for applications that:
- demonstrate excellence and professional
integrity;
- bridge diverse forms and/or disciplines;
- take creative risks;
- connect with and are relevant to a broad-based
audience;
- enhance the artist's repertoire.
Please submit a description of the
proposed new work together with a C.V., creation
budget and two cued videotapes or DVD's* of
past or relevant work to:

Award for Lifetime
Achievement— Dance Ontario's Awards Committee invites you to submit
nominations for the recipient of the Dance Ontar-
io Award For Lifetime Achievement.
All submissions must be received by April
30, 2013 and will be passed to the Awards Committee who will initiate the process of selection by
appointing a jury of peers appropriate to assess the
nominations received.
Your submission should include the following information::
- Name, address and contact information of the
suggested recipient.
- Why you feel that this person should be considered as a possible recipient [max. 2 pages]
- Biography or CV plus any materials such as press
clippings, or references to academic papers that
will assist the jury to fully assess the nominee's
impact on their community and the discipline in
general.
- Name, address and contact information of member in good standing making this nomination.
Given to those who have contributed
significantly to the development of dance in this
province, past recipients have included Charlotte

PASO activities in
support of arts funding—In recent weeks artists from across Ontario have been meeting with MPPs regarding sustaining funding for the Ontario Arts Council. Participants recommended by PASO members from within their own memberships resident in specific constituencies have now met with 32 MPPs - 16 Liberal
(including 4 Cabinet Ministers), 10 Progressive Conservative and 6 New Democrat.
At the meetings, there were 10 advocates
from dance communities across Ontario.
We will endeavour to further develop
these relationships and advocate for the broader
arts community for increases in funding for the
sector in the leadup to an anticipated provincial
election.
