Geevs v7 - Feature Highlights
With thousands of channels deployed on-air and with an unrivalled integration with third-party solutions, Geevs
servers offer broadcasters and post-production users real benefits and return on investment. With the new
Geevs v7 release EditShare have further expanded the capabilty of this popular ingest and playout video server,
providing multiple new features and increased resilience and stability, especially for complex workflows.
The following highlights some of the key additions to this release. For a full review of Geevs v7

Geevs Server
All Geevs servers are now 2U providing either 2 or 4 channels and extra storage (8 * 4TB).
There is also the option to capture 6 channels for certain configs.
Geevs v6.6.0 introduced integrated functionality with EditShare Flow MAM platform, and
Geevs v7 now adds AirFlow compatible H.264 proxy files. This allow instant remote review
of media during recording.
Users authentication/log-in through EditShare v7 application on shared storage as well as
through Geevs server.
'Record local and push ' - Geevs now has the ability to record to a local cache folder and push
the data to another remote media folder. Metadata is always written to the central database,
so users in the shared environment can access and collaborate as soon as recording has begun
Support for EditShare v7 new Quality of Service/Bandwidth Reservation system ensuring that
real-time activities such as video ingest and playback, always receive the highest priority.
Closed Caption support for QuickTime, preserving data through the entire workflow.

Geevs Post
Multiple server support – playback and recording of channels from multiple servers is now supported
from a single Geevs Post clients application.
Channel viewer redesign now with three different viewing modes:
Playback viewing mode – revised and updated to now include adding markers to your media.
Playlist viewing mode – Playlist window now incorporatded into the Channel viewer providing
a more intuitive user experience.
Record viewing mode – the Record mode has been revised and now allows adding markers
during capture.
Customizable, colour coded Markers can be added to clips to signify different events during record
or review, to aid in post production.
New icons are available in the File Tree to identify various EditShare media space types such as
AvidMXF and Managed.
Playlist clips autoplay after trigger - clip list after a trigger now autoplay as standard.

Geevs Sports
Direct timecode entry without having to use the Shuttle control – just type a timecode and Geevs will
jump to the relevant position.
Revised Preferences tab for ease of use and increase productivity:
Record folder setting now in the Record tab for faster set up.
Create record folders directly in Sports Replay application.
Clip loading simplified allowing user to pre-specify set up.
Geevs Studio MC
Studio MC keyboard shortcuts for camera and Markers have been updated to increase flexibility
and speed to set up.
Geevs Live
Geevs Live now supports EditShare Flow sequences that have been created in Flow or Geevs,
speeding up media playout within an integrated workflow with shared storage.
