T
he construction at Grand Solmar resort is now complete! The stunning new motor lobby
and reception are open and fully functional. We would like to thank all of our members for
your patience and continued patronage. We know this has been a long awaited announcement
for many of you. The addition of the motor lobby with a lounge and sports bar means a new
comfortable area is available for members to enjoy from the moment you arrive at
Grand Solmar at Land’s End.
Relaxing lounge chairs are located in the motor lobby for members waiting for transportation
or valet service. On the other side of the reception area, right next to the sports bar, there are
new outdoor patio chairs and lounges. These outdoor areas overlook the ocean and the resort
grounds off the main lobby, so you can relax indoors or out from the moment you arrive.
The lobby area itself features beautiful fireplaces and fine attention to detail throughout. There
are luxurious touches everywhere you look. Located in building D, the main reception area is
all air-conditioned space with breathtaking views of the ocean. It is the perfect location to be
shuttled to your building and start enjoying your suite.
We would also like to update you on the new deli and market that are open and operating. Both
serve as a very welcomed option for members looking for a quick casual bite or snacks for the
room. The new market is located right in front of the reception area in a convenient central
location.
As construction is officially complete at Grand Solmar, a new exciting project is gearing up on
the Pacific coast just north of Cabo at Rancho San Lucas. More information is available in
this newsletter.
For Grand Solmar members, this section of the newsletter has served as a “construction update”
column. We will continue to use this space to inform members of any changes at Grand Solmar.

hat’s going on in Los Cabos?
From the moment members arrive in Los Cabos, you can see there is a lot going on. With
new construction, infrastructure upgrades, more activities and restaurants to explore, there
really is no shortage of news to report. Added flights mean there are even more opportunities
to make the most of your time in Los Cabos and experience new events and attractions.
We wanted to offer a few ideas for your next visit to Cabo. For Cabo veterans, these may be
old favorites or maybe something new for you to enjoy!
•Adventure Tours – Spring and early summer bring the best weather of the year to the local area.
Cool temperature and refreshing ocean breezes create the perfect climate to enjoy outdoor
activities. Wild Canyon is a park that the adventurous will love. A true desert paradise full
of fun. Wild Canyon even has bungee jumping options for the brave of heart. For the less
adventurous, there is a reptile and bird center where you can see some of the local desert
dwellers. Or, you can relax and enjoy the incredible canyon and ocean views and a great
restaurant. Wild canyon is an interesting, fun spot to check out.
•Turtle nesting season. From May through September, an amazing event can be witnessed
on the many beaches of Los Cabos. Large sea turtles will crawl up and lay their eggs in the
sand right in front of the resorts. There are dozens of special beaches where the nests are
protected to maintain the ecological continuity of the species.
•Fishing. As most members know, Los Cabos is world famous for fishing. Dubbed the Marlin capital
of the world, Cabo is a great option for professional anglers, or for people just wanting to
experience deep-sea fishing. As the summer progresses, many notable tournaments take place in
the waters off of Cabos, including the Bisbee Tuna Tournament, Stars and Stripes Charity
tournament, and so many more. Check out the fishing options on your next visit and get
ready for a scenic and exciting day on the water!
There are other fun events going on this spring and summer if your vacation timing allows:
•Los Cabos Open of Surf in June–Professionals from all over the world come to Los Cabos
to show off their skills and compete in this exciting surf competition.
•The Dorado Shoot Out fishing tournament will also be in June 2016.
•Be on the lookout for more dates to be confirmed on our member website including details
on the Los Cabos Comedy festival in mid to late summer 2016.

site with fresh events and seasonal activities so you can plan ahead for your next visit!

Internal Exchange
One of the major reasons so many people purchase a membership with Solmar Resorts is the
flexibility. Fixed week members choose to purchase a specific week or weeks of the year in specific units.
This vacation style is popular and works for thousands of members. But the fixed membership
also allows flexibility through the Internal Exchange benefit. By exchanging your week internally,
you can choose to use the same size of unit but travel during a different time of the year. If a
scheduling conflict arises or if you simply wish to visit your home resort at a different time, you
can call Member Services and exchange your week for another time!
*New policy regarding Internal Exchange*
Members can actually plan to exercise their internal banking option 12 months in advance, but
no less than 15 days prior to the check-in date.
Contact Member Services as soon as possible regarding the minimal internal exchange fees
and availability. You can plan your vacation back to your home resort today. Remember, just
because life happens, it doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy your home away from home at a different
time.
Leap Year Reminder – For Fixed Saturday Check-Ins
2016 is a leap year! As a quick reminder to everyone who owns fixed weeks with a Saturday check-in, we recommend you look at your check-in calendar and contact Member Services if you have questions or concerns about exact check-in/out days. Leap year dates shift, in particular for those members who happen to own consecutive
fixed weeks that may contain a different check-in date.
Please contact Member Services. We can provide options that work for you and help you plan for these extra days. With this in mind, we also ask that you make sure
there are no issues with your airline reservations. We want to eliminate or minimize any
inconveniences that may get in the way of your vacation time at your home resort.
The Meal Plan Has Been Upgraded Again
The meal plan has been a very popular option for members. It has also received rave reviews.
The most popular method for reserving the meal plan has been to purchase the three
or four-day option. This option is popular because it gives one or two-week plus members
the opportunity to enjoy the first three or four days on site and truly relax. Later in your
vacation, you can still experience your favorite restaurants and bars downtown.
There are some amazing new additions to the meal plan for members to experience.
•Multi Property Dining– You can experience Playa Grande Resort as well as dining options at
Grand Solmar at Land’s End.
•Addition of Theme Nights to the Meal Plan – Theme nights are a favorite of many members,
including Mexican night, Italian night, Seafood night and more. With the new upgraded meal
plan, the nightly theme parties and dining options are now included! This applies to both resorts, so
if you love the Mexican party at Playa Grande you can go, or, you can check out the Mexican Night
at Grand Solmar at Land’s End, which is more of a Mexican culinary experience.
•The new Lobby Lounge is also included in the meal plan. The Lobby Lounge features live
acoustic music every day and a fun and vibrant atmosphere. Members can sample both savory
and sweet creations such as the Big Lobster Raviolis, the Crab Fondue and the decadent
Chocolate Soufflé.

In our ongoing effort to protect our members from fraudulent travel clubs and other scams,
here is the latest information on the movements of some notorious operations.
Members should be aware that several fake companies have been created to look like government
agencies. The purpose of this is to gain your confidence and then offer you a “trusted”
source to sell or rent your timeshare. It is, of course, a scam!
To date there is no Mexican governmental agency in existence that was specifically created to deal
with timeshare issues. Furthermore all official Mexican government emails come from an address
containing a “gob.mx” extension.

olmar Foundation Looks Ahead to a Strong 2016!
There is never a shortage of Solmar Foundation news. Donations collected from generous
members and guests are, of course, applied to many needy causes throughout the community
of Los Cabos. Due to the efforts of employees and the generosity of guests, the Solmar
Foundation has truly helped effect change in Los Cabos and made the community a stronger
and healthier place to live and vacation!
Amazingly, we are already in the spring of 2016. As time marches on, the constant efforts
of the Solmar Foundation and the goals we set for 2016 are starting to take shape in the
local community. It is exciting to vacation in Cabo and witness firsthand your donations at
work. That’s why it is always a good idea to join one of the tours that visits the neighborhoods.
Many members have participated and helped deliver food and everyday items directly to
the needy.
Members can also visit the center for the elderly, or the clinics that have been built to provide
dental services for children. There are also ENT clinics that help improve the lives of so
many children. Most of these centers did not exist in Cabo, but thanks to Solmar Foundation
grants, many of the causes we support have upgraded their infrastructures and truly changed
the community for the better.
One project taking shape is a new center spearheaded by the Solmar Foundation.
The purpose of the facility is to help people with disabilities that have difficulty finding
employment. The center helps them gain the skills needed to work and earn a living and
contribute to their families. The center assists both the men and women of Los Cabos.
To help disabled students find gainful employment, the center will also feature a full-size
replica of a villa in order to provide hands-on training in housekeeping and maintenance.
Please remember that special donations can be made and tax-deductible US receipts are
provided.
Ongoing Solmar Foundation Tours and Projects for 2016
Celebration of Life Food Drives – Participants can assist through the entire process of collecting and delivering the food. If they wish, they can even visit the center and help with
ongoing maintenance tasks.
The Helping Hands Tour – This is a great way to see first hand the efforts made by the
foundation and visit the many neighborhoods and groups in Los Cabos the Foundation
assists. Group activities organized by Solmar Foundation are free of charge. The developer
pays all administrative costs for the entire Foundation. As a result, 100 percent of the donated funds and labor go directly to those in need.
Participants are encouraged to make small monetary contributions or donate gently used
clothing.
