BC 4-H Provincial Scholarships
Open to all 4-H members who are completing grade 12 (or have completed grade 12), have not previously

BC Recreation and Parks Association Scholarships
The objective of the BCRPA student scholarship program is to ensure future quality leadership through the

Be The Boss
Over the past decade, Be The Boss has experienced tremendous success in helping savvy investors purchase
the right business for their lifestyle. To give back to the community and foster the next generation of
entrepreneurs, Be The Boss has developed the Future of Franchising award.
Four awards, valued at $1000 each, will be awarded on August 1, 2014 to post-secondary students with an
interest in franchising. To be eligible, you must be a Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident full-time in postsecondary studies.
Please submit a 500-600 word commentary on the importance of franchising, including what it means to you
and your community. This should be a unique piece of writing to you. Entries must include the following to be

Brian Grant Award
The Ministry of Environment, the Recycling Council of British Columbia (RCBC) and the British Columbia
Chapter of Solid Waste Association of North America (BC Chapter SWANA) have established a posthumous
award to recognize the work of Brian Grant in advancing solid waste management in British Columbia. The
Brian Grant Award is for $1,500. Eligible students must be currently enrolled in a full-time college or university
program and have completed at least one undergraduate year in environmental science, engineering, or other
suitable major related to the field of solid waste management, industry product stewardship or recycling.

CHF BC Scholarship Fund
The Co-Operative Housing Federation of BC works to support the community of housing co-ops in BC. The
purpose of the CHF BC Scholarship Fund is to support the educational goals of co-op members, particularly
young co-op members who are already making a contribution to their communities. Scholarships can be
awarded to students graduating from high school and planning to enrol in a college, university, or
apprenticeship program students already enrolled in a college, university or apprenticeship program; and
students returning to school after a break in their education.

Commissionaires BC Bursary Opportunities
Commissionaires BC is a Canadian not-for-profit organization and one of 16 divisions across the country that
offers a wide range of security services. Everything we do to protect our community and country supports
those who serve and have served. Therefore, we aim to provide meaningful employment to former members
of the Canadian Forces and RCMP. Must be a person, an immediate family member or descendant of a person
who works or has worked for Commissionaires BC, OR who served in the Canadian forces, the Royal Canadian

Frank Knox Memorial Fellowships at Harvard University
Up to three (3) Frank Knox Memorial Fellowships will be awarded to students from Canada for graduate study
at Harvard University in the academic year 2016-2017.In establishing the Frank Knox Memorial Fellowship
program at Harvard University, Annie Reid Knox sought to honor her late husband and his lifelong

Government Finance Officers Association – Scholarships for Full and Part
Time Students
The Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) of the United States and Canada, which serves
government finance professionals throughout those countries, is pleased to announce the Daniel B. Goldberg
Scholarship, Frank L. Greathouse Government Accounting Scholarship, Minorities in Government Finance
Scholarship and the Government Finance Professional Development Scholarship.
Candidates for these scholarships should have a superior record of academic achievement and/or job
performance and show promise of completion of their studies at a high level of performance. In addition,

Irving K. Barber Transfer Scholarship
The Ike Barber Transfer Scholarship program is open to students who after completing two years of study at

James Craig Reid Memorial Scholarship
Given to one student who graduated from a District 69 secondary school or lived in District 69 for at least
three years. Candidates should be entering their fourth year of study or beyond in a Canadian university
academic program. Preference will be given to candidates specializing in Music, Fine Arts, Liberal Arts or

The Ken Dobell Public Service Education Fund Scholarship has been established to encourage students with an

Live Your Dream Award
The Live Your Dream Award is an annual program that begins at the local Soroptimist club level, where award
amounts vary. Club recipients become eligible to receive region–level awards, which are granted through
Soroptimist’s 28 geographic regions. Each Soroptimist region grants one first-place award for $5,000. Eligible
applicants must be women who provide the primary financial support for their families, and who are enrolled
in or have been accepted to a vocational/skills training program or an undergraduate degree program.
Applicants must demonstrate financial need, and cannot have already earned an undergraduate degree. Only

Lotus Light Charity Scholarship
The Lotus Light Charity Society’s annual scholarship program has recognized some of the brightest and most
community-conscious students since 1993. The scholarship recipients had achieved excellency in academic

The Margaret McNamara Memorial Fund (MMMF)
Since 1981, the MMMF, a US based 501(c)(3) nonprofit public charity has awarded over 285 education grants
to women from developing countries who demonstrate a commitment to improving the wellbeing of women
and children in the developing world. The purpose of these grants is to provide financial resources for the
completion of academic degrees to women who are enrolled in designated universities. Since 1981 many
MMMF grantees studying at universities in the US and Canada are from over 70 developing countries, but we
seek to provide financial support to more women students.

Masonic Bursary Fund – Grand Lodge of British Columbia and Yukon
The Grand Lodge of British Columbia and Yukon, through their Bursary Fund, annually grants a number of
bursaries to students residing in British Columbia and Yukon and attending institutions in British Columbia and
Yukon. Consideration will be given to students attending other institutions if similar programmes or courses
are not offered in British Columbia and Yukon. Masonic Bursaries are intended to assist the advanced postsecondary education of promising young people who otherwise would not be able to continue their education
in full-time graduate and/or diploma courses. Although consideration is given to scholastic standing, Masonic
Bursaries are granted primarily on the basis of financial need.

Veronica Bailey Chapter AQ British Columbia Award
The Veronica Bailey Chapter AQ Scholarship was established in 2005 in memory of Veronica Bailey who was a
charter member of P.E.O. Chapter AQ on the North Shore. This award has been established to provide
financial assistance to women whose education has been interrupted and who wish to resume their postsecondary studies. The award is open to women attending Capilano University and residing in Greater

Burnaby Historical Society Scholarship
Annually available to an undergraduate student attending an accredited BC university or college and enrolled
in a major or an honours program that specializes in Canadian history, with preference given to the history of

current academic transcript plus letters of recommendation from two instructors at the university or college

ISEE Western Canadian Chapter - Dick Shaw Memorial Scholarship
The scholarship will be awarded to a full-time student attending a college or university in Western Canada
who is studying a subject with some relevance to the non-military use of explosives or blasting. We are flexible
about the subject providing the applicant has an interest in pursuing a career that could involve blasting.
Students may be at any level. The applicant does not need to have any link to the Chapter or explosives
industry and does not need to come from Western Canada, providing he or she is studying here.

The C.D. Howe Scholarship Endowment Fund National Engineering
Scholarship
The C.D. Howe Memorial Foundation is offering up to two undergraduate scholarships (one to a male student
and one to a female student) valued at $7,500 CAD for students enrolled in an engineering program in a
Canadian university. The candidates must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents who have completed
the first year of an engineering program. Each Dean or Department Head from each eligible institution may
nominate one male and one female candidate.

BC Export Award for International Business Studies
In a continued effort to foster an export culture in Canada, and create a workforce that is globally minded, the
BC Export Award Committee is pleased to offer the 2014 International Business Studies Award.
This Award recognizes students who have demonstrated leadership, excelled in their international business
studies (be it international business, finance, relations or economics) and have made a significant contribution
to the export community in BC. To be eligible, students must be attending a post-secondary school in BC in
their final two years of the program and be actively involved in programs that involve international studies.

CGA Continuing Education Tuition Scholarship
The Certified General Accountants Association of British Columbia annually awards CGA Continuing Education

Hornby Island Blues Society – Scholarships and Bursaries
The Hornby Island Blues Society’s (HIBS) Blues Music scholarship, Banky Bursary and Casat Bursary were

awareness of the dynamic nature of the structure, history and creative components of Blues and Roots music.

James Lee Foundation Scholarship
The scholarship is open to emerging creative talent from across Canada wanting to enter into the advertising
industry. Entrants must be non-professional Canadian residents over the age of 16. All fields of creativity

2015 Kwi Am Choi Exhibition Scholarship Fund
In 2007 the family of talented artist Kwi Am Choi endowed the Port Moody Arts Centre Society (PMACS) with
funds to create the Kwi Am Choi Scholarship Fund. The fund was established to provide encouragement and
support to emerging artists between the ages of 15 and 30. The objectives of the fund are to further the skills
and experiences of student artists, to expand their artistic careers, and to enable them to better promote their
work. This is to be done by covering the costs of mounting a solo exhibition of their work at the Port Moody
Arts Centre.

Music BC Charitable Foundation - Burt Harris Memorial Scholarship
A minimum of one scholarship award will be given to an individual age 25 and under who can show financial
need and exceptional ability, to help pay for private instruction in Canada for a musical instrument. And a
minimum of one scholarship award will be awarded to an individual age 25 and under who can show a
financial need and exceptional ability, to help pay for tuition for a music program at a post-secondary

Musicians’ Dream Aid Scholarship
Musicians’ Dream Aid is proud offer an annual scholarship for young musicians. The MDA Scholarship must be
used towards the tuition of a music school or program. Applicants must submit videos of two contrasting
performances, and these are judged by an adjudicator. This year we are offering our winner a scholarship of
$500 CAD and our runner-up a scholarship of $200. The deadline for applications is June 11th, 2016.

The Vancouver Opera Guild will disburse a $6,000 Career Development Grant. This Grant will be available to
Canadian Citizens and those with Landed Immigrant status between the ages of 20 and 33 years. The purpose
of the Grant is to help people involved with, or preparing for, a career in the performance area of opera, to
improve their skills or to work on a personal project related to opera.
The 2015 Grant is available for singers only. Those involved in Production (stage management, directing,

The African Leaders of Tomorrow Scholarships Fund
The African Leaders of Tomorrow Scholarships Fund will be funded in equal part by Foreign Affairs, Trade and
Development Canada (DFATD) and the MasterCard Foundation. In recognition of the importance of a strong

Victory in Europe Scholarship
The Victory in Europe Scholarship was established in 2015 to mark the 70 th anniversary of the liberation of the
Netherlands by Allied troops, including many Canadians, during the Second World War and is in recognition of
the strong bond that exists between to the two nations today. This scholarship is offered to Dutch students
who possess Dutch citizenship and be accepted into a Master’s of Doctoral level program at a British Columbia
