ICNA SISTERS CANADA
Dear Sisters,
Assalam o alaikum
All praise and thanks to Allah SWT for helping us complete this
task. ICNA Sisters’ Canada Annual Planning 2015 is in your hands.
Jazakallah khair to all the sisters who participated with their
suggestions, time, efforts and duaas. We couldn’t have done without
you. The planning shura meeting was held on 10th and 11th of January,
2015, at Sister Zunaira Ishaq’s house in Mississauga. Every
suggestion given by you was presented with each agenda point.

HADAF FOR THE YEAR 2015:
The goal for this year was inspired by the
phrase of Ayah 110 Surah Al e Imran
“You are the best people”
In the light of this Ayah our HADAF will be:
To achieve this Hadaf, all the departments will plan for the
year 2015 according to the following points:
 The first building block of this exemplary community is
YOU. Begin with yourself.
 Practice Islamic values, like honesty, truthfulness,
punctuality, keeping promises, smiling, safeguarding the
tongue and remind others to do so.
 Stand up for justice everywhere. ‫قوامین بالقسط‬
ّ ‫کونوا‬
 Rate and evaluate yourself as a person and organization.
(Self-assessment and muhasibah)
 Focus on your family and your community equally. Both
should be a source of achieving your goals.
 Increase your knowledge of this society; enhance your
skills and professionalism.
 Teach other Muslim sisters and brothers to be a role model
of Islam in this society.

Build a community that sets path towards personal
excellence in faith, submission to Allah SWT and Islamic
moral values and shares basis for the moral, social, and
economic development of the Canadian Society.
TARBIYAH DEPARTMENT:
MGA TARBIYAH PLAN:
 An MGA should be a role model for her family,
community and especially for the members of ICNA.
 ‫صلحْ ذات بیْننا‬
ْ ‫ وأ‬،‫ف بیْن قُلُ ْوبنا‬
ْ ّ‫ اللّٰ ُه َّم ال‬In the light of this duaa,
all MGAs will focus on their personal relationship, create
strong bonds, and make duaa for each other.
 They must act like a mirror for each other, protect and help
when in need, not be judgmental and be able to correct
each other’s shortcomings in accordance with the hadith
that: A believer is the mirror of another believer.
 MGAs will learn time management, priority setting and
balance in their lives.
 ‫ربّ ز ۡدنى ع ۡل ً۬ما‬:
َّ (20:114) MGAs will be divided into buddy
groups of 4 or 5 for combine study of Tafseer and books
together, rotating every 4 months.
 Books about Dawah methods in West and Canadian
values will be added to the syllabus.

MGAs will be encouraged to attend their chapter/ regional
shura.
MGA programs should have more open discussions.
MGA report system will be modified after surveying for
MGA suggestions.
All chapter/ regional presidents will be in Tarbiyah team
this year.
UNIT PRESIDENTS TARBIYAH PLAN:
 There will be study circles for Unit Presidents to increase
their knowledge. .
 Unit Presidents will focus on their tarbiyah through Quran
 Unit nazimat will study books recommended by tarbiyah
department.
 Programs and workshops should be more interactive.
 Fact Sheets and Day to day documents will be compiled to
give better understanding of their responsibilities.
 Unit President meeting will be made more effective.
 For new Unit Presidents, Tarbiyah course should
be 3 month long, where needed
 Every program/ workshop should be recorded and those
who were unable to attend will receive these recordings.
 The understanding of the programs/workshops will be
assessed by questionnaire.
 Every chapter / regional / unit president should focus on at
least one more sisters’ tarbiyah who can be, in turn made
responsible in her position at the end of the term.

MEMBERS TARBIYAH PLAN:
Members will be sent monthly planner with calendar and
self-assessment form every month. This will serve as an
alternative to three month curriculum.
 Study of Quran with tafseer will be required by every
member.
 Adduha courses are available in person and on website, for
members to listen to and increase their knowledge.
 Unit presidents will be given tools and ideas to get ALL
members involved in the work and be active and motivated
 Think of different ways to make unit members meeting
more effective.
 Person to person Tarbiah will be emphasized and members
will be encouraged to show love, respect and care for each
other.
 The ideology and program of our organization will be
discussed before making new members.
 New members’ welcome package will be prepared.
 More tarbiyati programs will be introduced for members.
 Topics about current affairs concerning
Muslim Ummah and youth will be prepared and delivered.
TARBIYAH CONFERENCE:
 A two day Central tarbiyah conference will be held in
May 2015 for zimmadaran only.
 Chapters/ regions will hold their
Tarbiyah conference for members
and zimmadaran in the month
of October of 2015

DAWAH DEPARTMENT:
Connecting
Creation to Creator
Central, Dawah among Muslims department will no longer
work this year. Chapter/ regional nazm will be
responsible for dawah among Muslims.
1- Daroos preparation:
Daroos will be made more effective with new
ideas and practical points.
 Daroos guidelines will be uploaded on the website
with power point presentations and details of each
slide.
 Links to prepared daroos and important books and
authentic websites will be provided on ICNA sisters
website.
 Daroos topics will be made more attractive, modified
and will be presented with
Audio visual aids where ever possible.
 Current events will be highlighted with full
preparation, knowledge, hikmah and solutions
whenever needed.

Important issues of today’s world will be discussed,
for example homosexuality, increase in divorce rate
and its reasons etc.
Mudarrisat teachers training workshops will be held
on central and chapter level as needed.
2- Ramadan and Eid Milan Guideline:
 East and West region dor e Quran will have different
timings and starting dates.
 Every juz completion will be followed by a
questionnaire about the important points and
practical issues.
 More English language dor e Quran will be held for
sisters and youth.
 Units may hold full Quran dor or selected surahs
dor e Quran as suitable.
 Family eid milan at unit/chapter level, in person and
online will be held.
CARRY THE LIGHT CONFERENCE:



Sisters and Youth will participate with full
enthusiasm and dedication in the conference.
Youth will be encouraged to participate in the
planning.
MYN sisters will be encouraged to plan and
participation in the conference.

NEW MUSLIM SISTERS PLANNING:







Online classes for new Muslims throughout the year
will be arranged.
They will be provided with buddies, moral support
and financial help.
Zakat will be used for their financial support.
Eid day part and get together for new Muslim sisters
will be arranged.
Collaborate with other organizations that are helping
our sisters.
Data base of all the new Muslim sisters will be
collected at chapter level by chapter nazm.
Info about social welfare and legal issues will be
collected to help new Muslim sisters.
OUTREACH and HIDAYA DEPARTMENT
Community Outreach department and
Hidaya department are merged into one
department this year. The new name is
OUTREACH DEPARTMENT:
Outreach department will be responsible to
make connections with different organizations
and give guideline to all the ICNA Sisters
departments to work on different projects in the
community.
 8 week Dawah training workshop: 2 hr./ week. All
MGAs and members will be invited.

Outreach will continue the projects from the last year
and make them more effective and improved.
Outreach department will collaborate with printing and
publication department (PPD) to make sure all the chapters/
regions have the required Quran, flyers, brochures and other
dawah material on hand.
 This department will collaborate with PPD to
publish flyer and brochure on new topics like,
friendship, neighbors and more.
 Ramadan gift boxes will be bought from ICNA
brothers as last year.
 Members should carry dawah flyers and brochures
with them all the time.
 On special occasions organize family gatherings and
invite your Muslim and non-Muslim neighbors.
 Participate in University events, get to know your
Muslim neighbors, set up dawah booths in Flea
Markets and Canada Day.
 MCNA, MYN and sisters will participate in volunteer
cleanup projects for parks and beaches and the
outreach department will provide dates and
guidelines.
 This Department will work in coordination with
Brothers whenever needed.
 Multiple work lists will be given to Chapters &
Regions and they can choose whatever is suitable for
them.

This department will make events calendar in the
beginning of the year and it will be added to Central
Calendar.
Department will send updates and information about
different events to chapters and regions.
Chapter or Regions will share the details of their
successful projects to this department and other
chapters and regions.
MYN girls will be encouraged to get involved in
outreach projects.
SOC IAL SERVICES DEPARTMENT:
Social services will work with close collaboration with
outreach department. This department
will perform the following duties to fulfill its goal:








Follow up on matrimonial matches.
Form will be made available online.
Email groups will be created.
Hospital visits.
Program will be conducted to teach ghusal of
maiyat and CD made for this purpose, circulated.
Foster parenting in collaboration with ICNA relief and
children aid society
City will invite sisters who are interested in getting
trained for hospital visits.
Get well soon card with masnoon duas will be made
for these visits.

Seniors get together will be arranged in collaboration
with ICNA relief in major cities.
Counseling training will be provided to selected
MGAs and members.
A data base will be made to organize the work and
members can join any of the activities mentioned
above.
PRINTING and PUBLICATION DEPARTMENT:
The printing and publication departments are merged into
one department this year.
The following items will be made available to members
throughout the year for their personal use and distribution.
Printing and publication department will be responsible
for their availability.
1. ICNA sisters’ intro. brochure.
2. New membership and associate forms.
3. Members’ manual/Rahnuma e safar.
4. Chapter and region newsletter.
5. Noor magazine (Quarterly)
6. Companion magazine for children. (Quarterly)
7. Books audio CDs. (Daee kay ausaf and Nafs ka tazkia)
8. Ayadat, taaziat , istakhara, hajaat duaa cards.
9. Greeting cards for wedding , newborn, friendship and
other topics with masnoon duaas in Urdu and English
10. Duaa, fridge magnets.

Members are requested to make efforts and inquire
about these items’ availability with their unit
presidents, chapters or regional nazm.
BOOK SERVICES:
 Book services department is responsible for ordering
books, keeping record of book sale and collecting
book money.
 All units will have a book incharge who will keep a
record of books coming to the unit, sale, distribution,
collection of cost of books and handing the record to
chapter book incharge.
 Syllabus books will be made available to members
before the end of syllabus term.
 Each chapter will assign a book resource center
where all the books including syllabus books will be
available for sale. Unit incharge can collect syllabus
books in case their unit did not receive the books.
 Members will benefit from the book store where
Quran, tafseer and books will be available at a very
low cost. A list of books for sale will be sent to all
the members.
 Books will also be on sale at members meetings,
tarbiyah conferences and other city programs.
 Members are highly recommended to buy books for
personal use and make it a trend to give as gifts to
muslims and non muslims for dawah purposes.

SOCIAL MEDIA PLANNING:
This department will work on:
Website: www.icnasisters.ca, Facebook page, Twitter.

All the information about ICNA sisters Canada,
ideology, goal and departments is
available on the website.
The following books/info will be uploaded:
1. Dor e Quran recording and videos related to Quran.
2. Links to interesting lectures, books and you tube
videos.
3. Books: Rahnuma e Safar/ Members manual
Awaz e Fitrat/ Voice of nature
 All report forms can be printed out from the website.
 Monthly planner for members and MGAs.
 Chapter/region newsletter with important
information and program details.
Please Visit the website frequently and promote it
among other sisters.
 ICNA face book page will be made and members will
be requested to visit and like the page.
 Members are requested to send their suggestions for
making the website and face book page interesting
and useful for dawah and tarbiyah purposes.

MYN:
MUSLIM YOUH NETWORK
(for sisters)








It is recommended by central nazm and shura to form
MYN executive teams in Chapters, where possible.
This year Brampton and Edmonton will make efforts
to establish an executive team by selecting girls from
different units with leadership qualities, who are
ready to work and spread Islam among other girls.
MYN classes will be conducted by older sisters
whereas MYN halaqas will be conducted by MYN
girls.
MYN Executive team will be included in making their
syllabus.
MYN team will prepare a document on "How to start
MYN Halaqah". MYN girls will be advised to decide
membership criteria and start the process of
membership.
ICNA sisters will help and assist MYN in planning
their camping trip.
It is recommended that MYN executive team members
will visit, MYN West region.
MYN girls will be encouraged to participate in ICNA
sisters projects like social services, outreach, tarbiyah
programs, CTL at all levels.

MCNA:
MUSLIM CHILDREN OF NORTH AMERICA:
• In person teachers training workshops will be held by
chapters every 3 months as
PD (professional development) days.
• Guidelines will be provided by central MCNA
department.
• MCNA teachers will be invited to programs and get
together with ICNA sisters, when possible.
• Volunteer appreciation day will be arranged for
MCNA teachers.
• Field trips for MCNA will be arranged by all chapters
• MCNA will be given awareness about issues like
homosexuality, sex education and current world issues
with hikmah; and only after writing and informing
parents about these topics.
• The projects, programs and activities of MCNA will be
promoted and advertised on website, face book and in
chapter newsletter.
• MCNA website will be up and running this year.
• All Unit will keep record of all collections of
fees and expenditures with receipts and give
quarterly report to central MCNA Department.

ADDUHA INSTITUTE OF ISLAMIC SCIENCES:
Adduha is a project of ICNA Sisters Canada whose
mission is to provide sound knowledge
and understanding of Islam to all the Muslim women as
defined in the holy Quran and exemplified by
Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).
Classes are held Tuesday to Friday in the
morning hours, on campus and online.

Full diploma course includes:
 Quran with tafseer, word to word meaning, and rootwords
 Grammar, Tajweed, Hifz of 30th juz
 Books on Islamic literature
 Seerah of the Prophet (pbuh)
 Fiqh and fiqh un nisaa
 40 Hadith
In Toronto, next batch will start in September 2015 at our new
location, inshaallah.
Members are requested to publicize Adduha institute
among family and friends.

AL-FAJR INSTITUTE OF ISLAMIC SCIENCES:
(Islamic Institute for women and, girls above age 13)
Teaching medium: English
Al-Fajr is a project of ICNA sisters Canada which imparts
Islamic knowledge through variety of courses in Quran
(complete with tajweed, root words and tafsir), seerah of the
Prophet Mohammad (pbuh) and fiqh. The aim of this
institute is to provide best possible experience for its
students in their pursuit of knowledge and self-betterment.
Classes are held every Saturday, from 10:00 am to 1:30 pm,
on campus and online.

 Al-Fajr institute is located in Milton.
 The first batch of Al-Fajr will graduate in September
2015.
 Al-Fajr diploma course will be completed in 3 years.
 Members are requested to publicize its courses to
their family and friends.
 Efforts will be made to start similar courses in Toronto
and Mississauga.

Our planning for the year 2015 is in your hands.
Now let us take a step forward to achieve our hadaf and
pray to Allah (swt) to provide us the knowledge, vision,
patience, courage, steadfastness and all the help we need to
fulfill our commitment towards our Deen .
