Flo Max
Flo-Max and Flo-Max II feature “swing style” check valves that provide a wide
open through bore in its operating position. Available in 1-1/4" or 1-1/2" FNPT
size for flow hungry applications.

Squibb-Taylor’s Safety Device Featuring Pressure Balanced Design. The Flo-Max safety couplers are a unique safety
device that provides nurse tank break-away protection for NH3 toolbars.
The Flo-Max couplers are designed to safely disconnect the nurse tank hose from any tool bar in the event of a pull-away from
the nurse tank, a nurse tank roll over, or any occurrence that would cause the nurse tank hose to become taut. When the FloMax Coupler disconnects, two check valves immediately close. The inlet check valve, located on the male half of the coupling,
remains with the nurse tank hose and protects the nurse tank from releasing NH3 from all piping or vessels located on the tool
bar. A minimal NH3 release (between 100-150cc) occurs at separation due to trapped liquid between the two check valves.
The Flo-Max coupler’s stainless steel construction eliminates corrosion, which means replacement after 3 years is no longer
necessary. The Flo-Max coupler is available in 1-1/4" or 1-1/2" NPT. To further enhance ease of installation, the coupler
mounts directly to your existing full swivel bracket. Installation of the Flo-Max coupler halves requires only 25-30 pounds of
force.
The Flo-Max also features an internal pressure balanced design, so break-away separation force is unaffected by tank
pressure. Depending on the NPT size of the R-B, the separation force required to activate the coupler is anywhere from 250400 pounds of force. In addition, separation is unaffected by wind-blown dirt or grit. After a break-away, the Flo-Max is easily
reconnected within minutes. Squibb-Taylor makes it easy to ensure safety and reduce maintenance costs.

Poppet type valves assure positive shut-off. Steel body material, Buna-N O-ring, poppet seal is neoprene cadmium plated
finish. UL approved for anhydrous ammonia in accordance with OSHA regulations. UL approval is voided if coupler is serviced
or rebuilt in the field. Manufacturer suggests removal after three years.
1-1/4" Pioneer breakaway coupler provides more than 15% additional flow potential compared to the 1" coupler. It can be
adapted to 1" Acme adapter separately. Includes bracket and bleeder valve, bracket and coupler cannot be purchased
separately.

FEI Aux Implement Hitch
This rugged, heavy duty hitch clamps to the rear frame member of your cultivator or chisel plow. It is designed to eliminate excessive
maneuvering when attempting to hook-up auxiliary implements. This hitch is ideally suited for towing anhydrous ammonia trailers during
fertilizer application. Manufactured of heavy bar and plate, to take shock and abuse, this hitch fits frame sizes from 2 1/2" to 6" square.

Hook Up Procedure
1. Release lock pin.
2. Extend hitch up to 9" – swing left or right 9" from center.
3. Attach trailer tongue with draw pin.
4. Back up cultivator to automatically return hitch to rigid, locked position.
Optional extensions are available to increase reach of hitch, if harrow is used behind cultivator. To determine
which extension is required for your implement, measure distance from rear member of cultivator to rearmost
point of harrow. Example: FE-4 for 1 bar drag; FE-6 for 2-3 bar drag; FE-7 for 4 bar drag.

The "Express Hitch" PW4002 will allow you to quickly and safely attach trailers, wagons, tanks or anything else you pull to your pickup.
The units are DOT certified, and have been tested by an independent testing facility to meet and exceed the DOT standards. The 2"
standard model DOT Certified for 12,500 lbs. GVWR, 1,200 lbs. tongue weight.

SCOTT's S3 NH3 tank winch and hitch system has been designed for easy installation, safety, long life and enough power to pull even the
biggest anhydrous tanks. Our winch has been field tested for over 19 years with refinements made along the way that have made
SCOTT's the industry leader. The S3 design incorporates more safety features, less maintenance and easy spool tension control for no
cable winding troubles. Each winch comes standard with its own mounted control valve with detent for power out and an easy to operate
free-wheeling spool for faster long distance hook ups. Each unit comes with 40' of 5/16" aircraft grade cable. The winch is capable of over
10,000 lbs. of line pull however our safety shear pin will snap at approximately 8,500 lbs. The average line pull when pulling a 2,000 gallon
tank in a spiked field is between 4,000 and 5,000 lbs. of tension. Each unit is made to bolt to YOUR implement, for easy installation and
has a 5 year warranty.

FEI can customize knives for every application and we also offer custom bending of dry tubes. We carry quality knives from Shield
Agricultural Equipment and Wiese Industries.
AK94 heavy duty knives have a unique design with solid alloy chromium carbide insert that shatters the soil and
protects the knife shank for many acres of wear. The AK94 series are the number one applicator knife for your money.
The offer full 2-1/2" blank from top to bottom of knife and are constructed from 5160 spring steel, which is stronger
and longer lasting than the steel used in most conventional knives.
APK knives are field proven and guaranteed against breakage. 1/2" x 2-1/2" heat treated, oil quenched carbon steel with chromium
carbide insert and tube protector offered for a great everyday low price.
The DF-1 and DF-2 deep furrow knives have excellent sealing characteristics and have a chromium carbide point and tube protector. They
work well in heavy trash and all types of soil.
DF-3 and DF-4 are dual placement deep furrow knives.
The ST-16 strip till point id designed specifically for 8-12" working depths and acts as a subsoiler point to alleviate compaction which
allows creation of the optimum berm desired.
The “Shrew” K-4TSDF features a narrow profile that pulls easily requiring less horse power. A light and narrow wing creates soft pockets
for immediate combination of soil with minimum lift and fewer disturbances at ground level for better fertilization retention.
CPK-1PO chisel plow knife with replacement chromium carbide tip and 3/8" tube.
RV series knives are an economy twisted chisel knife with excellent wearing and longevity features. The 3/4" wide tip laces a band of
anhydrous 4"-6" deep with minimal soil disturbance. The chromium carbide insert adds increased life. Standard with countersunk hole
and slot, it will accommodate any chisel plow shank with hole centers from 1-3/4" to 2-1/2" apart, giving you to option of using standard
plow bolt mounting hardware.
CP65 series is a heavy footed knife for chisel plow applications. 2" top width matches to shank. 12" overall length,
1/2" hole punching, 2-1/4" to 2-1/2" hole centers. Use 1/2" x 2-1/2" hex head bolts.
CP70 knives feature a thin profile twisted knife for chisel plows. 14" overall length with 1/2" hole punching with 2-1/4" hole centers. Use
1/2" x 2-1/2" hex head bolts.

field, they should be welded 3" to 4" above discharge outlet at a slight downward angle, not more than 1/4" as shown.
FE-INS is for use between shanks and conversion tubes to eliminate metal to metal contact which sometimes causes a freezing effect
when exposed to anhydrous ammonia for long periods.
RV2A tube can be welded on any knife to be used for seed placement or dry fertilizer.

Anhydrous Ammonia Tubes
The 1-0174, 1-0174-2, 1-0175 and 1-0180 series replacement tubes for applicator knives are schedule 40 pipe and are OD
measurements. Available with open pipe or pinched and drilled.
45790-3340 is used on Dickey John Systems and the 214-0002-002 is for Raven.
Use the B100 for dispensing liquid anhydrous in a cold flow system. 1/2" OD tube x 10-1/2" length, one piece tube comes with a separate
attaching clip for bolt on behind cultivator or chisel plow spike or sweep. NOTE: Mounting bracket B100-1 is included.
CPI, FCI and CPI-1 have a patented self-clearing delivery port for continuous flow and a wear resistant cross tube.

6006-6007 series manifolds were designed for the budget-conscious farmer in mind. They are simple in their design but, keep in mind,
the distribution on these manifolds are not near as good as the MVD series.
The MVD is great budget line even distribution system that going to get you within 6-8
percent accuracy. It is the biggest bang for your buck. Other manifold systems are twice
as much for the same results.
The manifold first creates a vortex by throwing the ammonia into a counterclockwise
direction (see letter A) around the vertical dam (see letter B). This forces the liquid to the
outside of the vertical dam (see letter C) and channels the vapor through the center of
the manifold (see letter D). At this point, the liquid evenly divides to each outlet because
there is little vapor to interfere with the path of the liquid. The vapor then rejoins the
liquid inside each outlet port (see letter E).

The Equalizer A-2000-EQ uses the principle of removing the heat from the system, which is required to lower the temperature of the liquid
ammonia to its related pressure as it moves through the system, in effect, isolating the system into two separate systems. The two
systems can be considered the supply system and the metering system.
The present system of applying ammonia can be considered a series of orifices (or points of resistance) with the meter having the ability to
compensate for pressure variations both upstream and downstream, but the meter has no ability to read or compensate for any vapor in
the system. The ability of the Equalizer to remove vapor from the system just prior to the meter provides a consistent system from the inlet
of the meter on into the ground under most all desired operation conditions, provided the system can support it.
The principle of meters in use today controls a pressure difference across an adjustable orifice (meter barrel) independent of the pressure,
either upstream or downstream. As the meter setting is reduced for a given set of conditions, there is an increase in the ability to control
the system.
The 45790-1610S1 flow sensor provides information to console for NH3 application rate display, and detects plugged nozzle conditions for
liquid control systems (optional component).
45790-2320S1 remote switch is a powerful mini-computer that compares ground speed and application rate and regulates the control
valve to maintain a constant rate. This pressure based system ensures proper spray pattern. It provides a dual digital readout of pressure
and pressure per acre (flow rate and pounds per acre for NH3 and stabilized N application). Featuring non-volatile memory so constants
will remain stored without power. It provides a plugged nozzle indicator when the optional flow meter is added and mounts in any
convenient location.
The 46709 series control valves feature a stainless steel ball valve, provides high speed response as ground speed changes (full open to
full close in less than two seconds). It may be used with liquids, slurries, NH3 or stabilized N and provides full, no-leak shutoff.
Radar II ground speed sensor is a microwave sending and receiving unit that measures true ground speed under actual field conditions (a
hub sensor may also be used when accuracy is less critical).

FE320 manifold bracket assembly is designed for mounting of Continental manifolds. The bracket is punched for 1/2" bolts on 4" centers.
Mounting bolts are not included.
The FE305 one piece stand is designed for mounting 2500 and 4100 series Continental ammonia meters on 3" and 4" bars. Mounting
bracket on meter stand side accommodates a NH3 quick coupler and the schedule 80 fitting on top of the stand allows for mounting of the
hose from the coupler to the meter. The meter attaches to the opposite side of the coupling mounting. Bolts are not included.
FE310 is a one piece stand that is punched for mounting of John Blue, Squibb or Continental series 9500 ammonia meters. Mounting
bracket on meter stand side accommodates a NH3 quick coupler. The hose from the coupler attaches directly to the meter. A manifold or
optional flow splitting tee mounts direct to meter stand. Mounting bolts are not included.

Back check valves allow flow in only one direction and are normally closed. They are installed in liquid filling connections on stationary
storage tanks, bobtail delivery trucks and liquid transfer lines.
Type G100, used mainly in tank inlet connections, are offered in two styles of seat construction: metal to metal or soft seat. The soft
seated construction is for the filling connection on bobtail delivery trucks. Because the valve gives tight shutoff, piping on the bobtail can
be depressurized for maintenance or repair without leakage.
Type G200 back check valves are specifically intended for heavy duty inline service at the bulk plant’s transfer area. The valves are
suitable for LP gas or NH3 service. Flow moves the spring loaded poppet to the open position as soon as a pressure differential is
created. When flow stops, the poppet closes. A soft seat construction gives tight shutoff so that piping can be blown down for
maintenance. With a body designed to reduce flow resistance, flow capacity is high. The 2" body size gives 350 GPM LP gas at 10 psig
(0,69 bar) differential pressure. The G200 series is built to stay on the job with all internal parts of plated steel or stainless steel.
Type G201 has a built-in flow indicator mechanism which can be used to replace sight flow indicators.

capabilities, the factory installed O-ring provides a leak free, soft seat seal which enables repair and maintenance to be done on

Blackmer bypass valves have no small, easily plugged sensing passages and with only two moving parts, their operation
is simple and reliable. They open precisely at the preset spring pressure and they close smoothly and quietly, thanks to
a patented dash pot design. A small chamber in the valve stem fills with liquid when the valve opens. This liquid then
provides a hydraulic cushion preventing the valve from slamming shut if pressure is suddenly released. It also

The ZV200 bypass valve is a low pressure build-up bypass designed for applications requiring protection of the positive
displacement pump. The ZV200 is rated for 250 gpm (946 lpm) at 120 psid (8.27 bar) and is equipped with a standard

Designed for bypass on 2-4" size pumps, the N100 series is widely used on both LP gas and NH3 applications. The
throttling action of the N100 allows only surplus pump discharge to be returned to the tank. A venturi flow passage
gives a boost effect, permitting a greater valve opening for increased flow at the lower pressure buildups when
bypassing full pump output. These features help to give rapid, stable liquid transfer and reduce dangerous pressure
pulsations.
The valves contain only one moving part, the piston style inner valve. An external sensing line is not required because
tank pressure registers through a hole in the inner valve. Complete field servicing can be made without removing the
valve from the piping.
All N100 bodies have a 1/4" FNPT tapped and plugged boss on the side inlet for either a pressure gauge or a
hydrostatic relief valve.

Emergency Shutoff NH3
Snappy Joe® Emergency Shutoff Valves for Bulk Plants - Snappy Joe type N550 emergency shutoff valves are designed for in-line
installations, usually near a bulkhead. The valves provide a means of shutting off gas in the event of a hose rupture or piping break at the
transfer area to avoid a large scale loss of LP gas or NH3. The valves can be manually opened and closed at the installed location or
closed remotely by either cable or air. A remote operating actuator is also available.
High Flow Capacity – The main poppet moves completely out of the flow stream for extremely low restriction to flow.
Fertilizer - NH3
Operational Ease – Moving the operating lever to the vertical position opens the valve, making it simple to tell if the unit is open or
closed. A pilot valve in the poppet opens as the lever is moved upward to pressurize the hose. Once equalized, the poppet moves quickly
to the open position. The valve is closed by simply pushing the lever down without first having to trip a latch. The operating lever is easily
reached from across a bulkhead. All sizes look similar and operate exactly the same, an important point in an emergency situation.
Type P164B – a release assembly that uses 50 feet (15 meters) of cable housing which does not require elaborate guiding like uncovered
cables.
Pneumatic Operation – Remote pneumatic closure is available with type P327D release. Depending upon valve inlet pressure, a
minimum supply pressure of 30 to 70 psig (2,1 to 4,8 bar) on the P327D allows the valve to be latched in the open position with manual
closure possible at the valve. Loss of supply pressure to the cylinder permits the ESV to close. Air, nitrogen or CO2 can be used for the
cylinder supply source. Maximum inlet pressure to the cylinder is 125 psig (8,6 bar). Operating temperature range -40º F to 212º F (-40º C
to 100º C).
Type 539 pneumatic actuator permits opening and closing of the N550 Snappy Joe® emergency shutoff valves (ESVs) both at the valve
with the use of a pneumatic four way valve and from a remote location. The actuator opens the valve when pressure is applied. Minimum
pressure is 20 psig (1,4 bar) and maximum pressure is 30 psig (2,1 bar). Upon loss of pressure, the N550 closes, assisted by the spring in
the pneumatic actuator.
Snappy Joe® Emergency Shutoff
Valves for Railroad Tank Cars - Snappy
Joe® type N562 Emergency Shut off Valves (ESVs) are designed
for railcar protection and attach to the shutoff valves on railroad
tank cars (refer to installation drawing). Typically three N562s
are used – two on the liquid lines and one on the vapor line.
NFPA 58 regulations call for ESV protection on both sides of the
transfer hose or piping.
Pneumatically operated, the valve is opened and closed by
means of a standard quick disconnect coupling (furnished).
Approximately 20 to 60 psig (1,4 to 4,1 bar) is needed to open
the valve, depending upon tank car pressure.

Hardened Threads – The 2" FNPT threads on the nipple portion are of hardened stainless steel to reduce wear from repeated use.
Excess Flow Valve – With a poppet design similar to the internal valve series, an excess flow spring is available. The spring has a closing
flow of 200 GPM propane at 13 psid.
Dual Service – With all internal parts either stainless steel or plated steel, the valve can be used on NH3 service as well as LP gas.

Excess Flow NH3
Fisher
Excess flow check valves are intended to close upon excessive discharge of vapor or liquid resulting from a break in the
hose or piping system. They are used to protect cylinder, tank, and piping systems, and are available in a large variety
of sizes and body configurations. Standard temperature rating is -20° to 160° F (-29° to 71° C).
When flow exceeds the valve’s setting, the valve remains closes and remains closed until the system equalizes. A
built-in equalizing passage automatically opens the valve once pressure on both sides of the poppet is equal. Valves
larger than 1/2" threaded NPT have a drill size number 60. Valves with a 1/2" threaded NPT and smaller have a limited
bypass to comply with NFPA 58.
WARNING: A break or leak downstream of an excess flow valve that does not allow a flow equal to the valve flow
rating will not actuate the valve and could cause a hazardous condition. For this reason, system operators should be
familiar with the shutoff valves in the system so that necessary precautions can be taken in an emergency.
Fertilizer - NH3
Care must be taken to be sure the valve’s closing rate is less than the capacity of the LP gas or NH3 system in which
the valve is installed. Brass valves are not suitable for NH3 applications.

The A480 series of valves are for use in nurse tank or other vapor pressure driven service. The offering includes:
 A484N-45 with 1-¼" NPT inlet and 1-¼" NPT outlet.
 A480N-60 and A480-45 with 1-½" NPT inlet and 1-¼" NPT outlet.
 A482-60 and A482-45 with 1-½" NPT inlet and 1-½" NPT outlet.
The “-60” and “-45” designations on the valves will allow nurse tank users to specify an excess flow gpm rate closer to the maximum NH3
application rate they expect to use.
The replacement valve for riser service will be the 1-½" NPT inlet by 1-¼" NPT outlet A490-95 valve which has an excess flow rating
equal to the older AL479 valve. This valve will be for riser or other pump driven service only.
It should be noted that the choice of a lower excess flow rating will NOT affect flow characteristics below the excess flow setting. For
example, an A480N-60 and an A480-45 will both flow 35 gpm of NH3 at the same differential pressure. Also, an AL479, an A490-95 and
an A480-60 (all with 1-½" NPT inlets by 1-¼" NPT outlets) will all flow 55 gpm of NH3 at the same differential pressure. This makes a 60
gpm 480 series nurse tank valve ideal for even the most demanding NH3 flow requirements from a nurse tank outlet.
The industry has moved in this direction to provide the user with choices that will ultimately increase NH3 application safety in the field.

A1597R and A1598P valves consist of a service valve and an excess flow valve with a container connection of 1-¼" MNPT and outlet
connection of 1" FNPT. The built-in tri-guard internal relief valve on the A1597R bleeds product back to the tank when hose pressure
exceeds tank pressure by 50 psig. In this way, hose life is extended, chance of hose rupture is reduced, and personnel are protected. The
1598P has a ¼" FNPT plugged side outlet connection that can be used to install a hydrostatic relief valve.

The Flo-Check visually indicates flow in the liquid lines and also functions as a back check valve. Flow indicating and back check valves
feature all ductile iron construction with a 400 psig (27.6 bar) rating. Standard O-rings are Buna-N.
Sight Flow swing check valves are designed with the most durable, impact resistant glass in the industry. This sight flow valve allows
bulk plant operators an inspection point to visually monitor liquid flow conditions which allows the operator to achieve maximum pump
efficiency. Also features a soft seat swing away check valve which limits flow to one direction. This check valve is usually closed until
pressure activates the valve when flow is directed into piping or containers causing the valve to open. When flow stops or reverses, the
check returns to the closed position minimizing product loss in the event of a line failure.
Installing a sight flow valve upstream of a plant pump, allows the operator to observe product flow and make pump adjustments for
maximum flow without the liquid forming vapor bubbles causing uneven flow patterns and significantly reducing efficiency. Additionally,
installing a sight flow valve at the loading arm of a plant allows the operator to maintain consistent observation of pump conditions. This
valve is suitable for stationary and mobile applications.
Installing this valve on a compressor operation will provide a visual indication of when the tank car or transport is emptied of liquid and
ready for vapor recovery.

Pneumatic Actuator Accessories – All Fisher internal valves can be ordered with a pneumatic actuator that
permits the valve to be opened and closed from a remote location. When air pressure is applied to the actuator, it
moves the actuator’s rod and internal valve operating lever to the open position. Upon loss of air pressure, the
valve’s operating lever returns to the closed position. Besides air pressure, nitrogen or carbon dioxide can also be
used to pressure the actuator. Use of a pneumatic actuator permits the opening and closing of the internal valve to
be tied into the air brake of the transport or bobtail. Pneumatic actuators can also provide a convenient way to
remotely operate a number of internal valves on stationary storage tanks at bulk plants.
Type P341 – Fits 1-¼" threaded NPT C407 internal valves, also available factory installed, type C407M10.
Type P313 – Fits 4" type C404-32 internal valves, also available factory installed, type C404M32. The type P315 remote release should
be used with this release.
Type P315 – On manually actuated 4" valves (C404M32), type P315 remote handle release can be used to close the internal valve from a
remote location. Cable linkage and mounting hardware are included.
Type P650 or P651 Primary Cable Control – Capable of actuating all Fisher internal valves except the 4" C404-32, the P650 or P651
opens and closes the valve from a remote point, usually the rear of the bobtail or transport. Pulling the handle of the primary control opens
the internal valve, pushing the handle closes the valve. There are three notches on the primary control that give a travel of 4", 5" or 6"
depending upon the travel required by the valve’s operating lever. Included with each P650 primary control is a 20' cable, type P134
fusible links, a return spring and mounting hardware. If just the primary cable control is needed, order type P651, which is available
without any of the other accessories.
Type P163A or P164A Auxiliary Remote Release – These units allow the internal valve to be closed from a location other than the
primary control point (P650 or P651). Pulling the auxiliary release handle trips the release mechanism on the primary control to close the
internal valve. The two assemblies are identical except for the length. Type P163A has an untrimmed length of 25' and type P164A has an
untrimmed length of 50'. Both cables can be trimmed to any length and can be installed through mounting brackets up to 3/8" thick.

Flanged valves provide a sturdy and compact means of directly mounting a pump or piping connection. Special stud
bolts, weakened with a groove on the outside diameter, are furnished with the valves to permit the pump or piping to
shear off in the event of an accident, leaving the valve intact. A built-in excess flow valve reduces the chance of
uncontrolled product discharge when flow exceeds the rated flow capacity.
All flanged valves have an internal screen for pump protection that can be easily removed if the valve is used
primarily for filling the tank. They also contain PTFE packing to resist stub shaft leakage. These valves can be
activated manually, by cable control, or by an air cylinder.
3" Flanged Jet Bleed internal valves target speed of opening issues commonly encountered in the operation of internal valves. Enlarged
bleed ports provide faster equalization of tank pressure and downstream line pressure, giving a faster response time for quick valve
opening.
Type C483-24 double flanged internal valve is intended for special bobtail truck applications where the pump must be lowered to clear the
truck frame or other obstacles. A shear section in the lower body permits the valve to shear off in the event of an accident, leaving the
shutoff parts within the tank.
Type C484-24 single flanged internal valve is widely used on bobtail trucks with direct connected pumps. It can also be used on in-line
applications.
4" Flanged (Stainless Steel Construction)
Type C404-32 widely used on transport trucks and large storage tanks. The 4" flanged unit comes standard with all stainless steel
construction for maximum protection against rust and corrosion. For easy field maintenance, the seat ring is field replaceable. The C40432 is the only internal valve that cannot be opened and closed by the type P650 cable control. Factory installation of an air cylinder or
manual operating handle (with remote release mechanism) is available on the 4" flanged valves. Refer to ordering information below.

All Fisher internal valves can be ordered with a pneumatic actuator that permits the valve to be opened and closed

Types P613, P623, P639 and P614 also available factory installed (type C404A32), the actuator attaches directly to the valve after
removal of the cable operating lever. Included in each assembly is an operating lever and mounting hardware.
These actuators can only be used with the internal valves as specified on the table below. Minimum pressure is 20 psig (1,4 bar);
maximum pressure is 125 psig (8,6 bar).
Marshall Excelsior internal valve actuators are designed with a heavy duty stainless steel frame to withstand the
toughest conditions. These actuators are intended to be used at remote locations or operated directly off the air
brake system of the bobtail or transport applications.
The actuator’s smooth acting cam opens the internal valve lever when air, nitrogen, or carbon dioxide is applied to
the line. When pressure to the line is released, the internal valve automatically closes. In case of a fire the factory provided thermal plug
melts at 212º F., releasing pressure allowing the internal valve to close. These actuators require no modification and all hardware needed
for installation is provided.

Threaded
Fisher offers the widest variety of threaded internal valves in the industry. While their most frequent use is in the
liquid and vapor openings of bobtail and transport trucks, the valves can also be used in stationary storage tanks,
complying with NFPA 58 requirements. Designed as primary shutoff valves, the units are designed with several
features that help control product discharge.
Steel and stainless steel construction are standard throughout with total stainless steel construction available. The
valves have spring loaded PTFE packing for an effective seal against leakage. Standard disc material is Nitrile (NBR), but PTFE,
Perfluoroelastomer (FFKM), and Fluorocarbon (FKM), Ethylenepropylene (EPDM) and Neoprene are available (Note: PTFE seats are not
bubble tight).
All Fisher internal valves are suitable for LP gas or NH3 service. Special construction is available for other compressed gases. All of
Fisher’s threaded internal valves have a compact, one piece body design. They can be actuated manually, by cable control, or with an air

valve combines a pressure gauge mount with a fixed tube liquid level gauge provision. This combination valve is designed for bulk storage

Vapor Relief and Bleeder Valves NH3
A400 hydrostatic relief valves are designed to relieve liquid pressure in valves, hoses, or piping wherein liquid may be trapped. Pressure
set at 400 psi. Note: All safety relief and hydrostatic relief valves must be changed five years after date of manufacture.
The A411 bleed valve has a T-handle and is designed to bleed off trapped liquid or vapor NH3 in hose valves, couplings and piping. It is
also for installation in tanks as an 85% liquid level gauge. Part number A410 is the same valve with a 12" dip tube factory installed.
A1301 and A1310 series vapor relief valves are safety valves designed to open when the tank pressure rises above 250 psi. Used on
applicator, storage and nurse tanks. They will protect tanks, piping or hose from excessive pressure caused by overfilling or fire. Relief
valves should be replaced 5 years after the date of manufacture which is stamped on the valve. ¾" valves are used on applicator tanks
and nurse tanks. 1-¼" valves are used on storage vessels.
The A1415 relief valve manifold is used on large NH3 tanks to allow removal of a relief valve for inspection or replacement without the
need of evacuating the tank. Adequate relief protection is provided by the remaining relief valve in the manifold. Bleeder valves relieve
vapor pressure under each relief valve after closing the manifold port, and each port can be closed separately, meeting code requirements.
The H722 flush mounted internal relief valves are primarily used for trucks transporting LP gas, NH3 or compressed gasses. Type H722
stainless steel relief valves resist rust and corrosion, including a 300 series stainless steel spring for additional resistance to product
contaminants. A thickly molded main seal improves service life and resistance to severe applications. Easy to remove the valve from the
tank for periodic testing as prescribed by DOT and permits standard tank couplings instead of the more costly flanged tank openings. Field
repairable valve seats allow for seat replacement without affecting relief set point. Standard product temperature rating is -20º F. to 160º
F./-29º C. to 71º C.). Tight fitting protective caps (types P297 and P298) are standard on the valve to ensure no debris blocks the valve
discharge. Standard set points listed with UL include 125, 156, 250, 265, 275 and 312 psig / 8.6, 10.8, 17.2, 18.3, 19.0 and 21.5 bar. All
set points between 100 and 400 psig/6.9 and 27.6 bar are available with ASME approvals. The flow area is 1.39 square inches. A 1-½"
and 2-½" hex size wrench (type P304 or P305) can be inserted into the valve socket when installing/removing the valve to provide a
means of attaching a standard wrench.

A2031 and A2031 steel relief valve adapters are used when the NH3 hose assembly is left on the toolbar instead of the nurse tank. Install
the adapter between the NH3 quick coupler and the NH3 hose assembly. Install a ¼" hydrostatic relief valve, A400 into the relief valve
adapter. This will give vapor relief to the NH3 hose assembly under excessive pressure situations.

AL345 and LP-AL361 are single boy quick acting shutoff valves. A special locking clip on the valve’s operating handle minimizes the
chance of accidental opening. Ball bearings in the seat disc assembly allow the entire assembly to rotate when the disc touches the seat.
This helps to prevent wear and cutting of the disc, giving longer service life. The operating handle can be moved to any position without
cutting the seal. It comes with a ¼" FNPT plugged side outlet. The body is ductile iron and the valve handle is aluminum.

Smart-Hose assemblies are designed and engineered with a valve integrated in each end fitting. If the hose assembly experiences a
catastrophic hose failure, the Smart-Hose Safety System is designed to instantaneously shut off the flow in both directions. Designed as a
passive safety device, the Smart-Hose Safety System needs no human intervention to activate.
The Smart-Hose Safety System is integrated into NH3 transfer hose assemblies and designed to meet the most rugged applications found
in the Fertilizer Industry. All NH3 transfer hose assemblies are designed to meet DOT HM 225 Standards.



Each hose is tested under water with dry air or
nitrogen to working and test pressure.

Wonder Wrap Tape is sticky, stretches just right, and won’t tear or unravel. It comes in 2" and 4" rolls. There are plenty of pipe wrap
tapes on the market but it is hard to beat Wonder Tape. It is UPC Approved/ IAPMO Listed, provides excellent insulation with a durable
polyethylene backing. It is ideal for iron and steel and is corrosion resistant. It has a super tack adhesion for extra holding power. It is used
a lot by underground pipe contractors and plumbers to protect iron and steel pipe from corrosion due to high acidic or “hot soils”. It is also
used to protect PVC pipe from corrosion due to ultraviolet rays in above ground installations.

NH3 A-1000 needle valves are designed for use in flow metering application such as ammonia tanks to provide a shut off for the pressure
gauge. Its purpose is to allow the operator to remove the gauge for repair or replacement without evacuating the container. Because the
flow rates are so low, shutoff needle valves are not used in simple shutoff applications. The A-1000 needle valve is also used on
applicators to shut off the supply of NH3 to one or more knives.
The UL Listed ME830 all stainless steel internal components allowing for use in both LP gas and NH3 applications. The combination valve
combines a pressure gauge mount with a fixed tube liquid level gauge provision. This combination valve is designed for bulk storage
container and transport tank installations.

Rotary
Rotary Gauges – Fisher rotary gauges can be used on stationary or mobile tanks to visually indicate the amount of LP gas or
NH3 in the container. They are also used in filling the tank to the proper liquid level. On mobile applications and some large
stationary storage tanks, hangers are recommended to support the horizontal length of the dip tube. The gauge is operated by
opening the small bleed orifice when the tube is in the vapor space of the tank. Moving the pointer on the dial causes the end of
the tube to move until it contacts liquid in the container. At that point, discharge from the bleed orifice turns from vapor to liquid
and the rotary gauge dial gives the volume percentage of liquid in the tank.
Fertilizer - NH3
J31 Series – consists of heavy duty gauges that
minimize vibration effects (swaying, bouncing) by a long
(68 inches / 1.73 meters) stem tube extension. Gauges
fit 1-inch / 25.4 mm coupling container connections. All
gauges have stem and dip tubes with an extra-large
inside diameter. This assures that the correct liquid level
can be obtained quickly. A nylon packing sleeve and a
friction ring for the pointer indicator gives smooth
rotation and long service life. Steel and stainless steel
materials resist rust or corrosion. Standard product
temperature rating is -20 to 160° F. / -29 to 71° C.
+Basic stem tube length; a dip tube is soldered to the
stem tube on longer lengths.
*Add length to type number, i.e., if 18" stem and dip tube
is desired, specify Type J31L-1/18". Add suffix “B” for
bends, i.e., J31L-1/8B.

Roadmaster
The Roadmaster – Unique for mobile applications, the RM series Roadmaster gauges were designed to withstand the vibration and shock
inherent in mobile service. Their service life in over the road, transports and bobtails, carrying liquids from LP gas to anhydrous ammonia,
is unsurpassed. These gauges allow a continuous reading between 5% and 95% of tank contents. Roadmaster gauges are to be installed
in the side or end of mobile tanks at the centerline. They are equipped with a spring controlled shock absorber on the float arm which
substantially reduces the stress that quickly destroys conventional gauges. Angle mounting gauges are also available. The standard
model mounts in an 8 bolt adapter and incorporates a 4" dial with an available 8" dial. When necessary, the dials are easily replaceable.
The Roadmaster gauges are designed for working pressures ranging from atmospheric to 450 psig (31bar).

Turbine Meter System
Fertilizer - NH3
The FEI NH3 Turbine Meter System is an inexpensive method for dispensing and metering anhydrous ammonia. This
cost effective system eliminates the need for platform scales or expensive high maintenance metering systems. FEI
has developed this economical turbine meter system and gained North Dakota state approval after extensive testing
and is available to the agricultural market.





Simple - This system utilizes a stainless steel turbine that uses the latest in pulse sensing technology with very few moving
parts.
Reliable – The ammonia does not come into contact with the sensors or the computer connections.
Accurate – The flow of ammonia turns the turbine and sends a pulse to a mini computer that translates the pulse beats into
pounds or gallons. An optional printer is available to record the transaction.
Inexpensive – The system has a minimum of working parts, which translates into lower initial cost and less maintenance.
Each system includes a control panel module, a stainless steel turbine flow meter, a vapor eliminator, a differential valve and necessary
fittings and wiring. Systems can be designed for single or multiple riser installations.
Prices do not include freight, installation, electrical work or applicable state and local taxes or additional plumbing parts that may be
needed during installation.

product is left in the tank car (often 3% or more of the tank’s capacity). Recovery of product with a compressor is a simple
operation.
To select a compressor that best fits your application requirements, use the chart shown. The data provided is based on
approximate delivery rates when handling propane or anhydrous ammonia. Actual capacities will depend upon line
restrictions, size and length of piping. Horsepower requirements for both liquid transfer and vapor recovery applications are

How vapor recovery is accomplished - Vapor recovery is accomplished with the use of a four way valve. By rotating the
valve handle 90°, gas flow is reversed and the vapor pressure within the supply vessel is reduced. At this point, the remaining
liquid vaporizes and is quickly recovered. As the tank pressure is drawn down further, vapors are also recovered to an
economical level. Recovered vapor is discharged into the liquid area of the receiving tank and then condensed back into a
liquid state.

A1206 and A1206F are primarily used for liquid withdrawal in nurse tanks. Liquid withdrawal excess flow closing rate is 42 gpm at no
more than 15 psi differential closing pressure. They feature a stainless steel stem with Teflon V stem packing. Container connection: 1¼" MNPT, outlet connection: 1" or 1-¼" FNPT.
The A1406F and A-1406-G are extra high capacity valves, 45 gpm, with excess flow check. 1-1/4" MPT inlet, 1-1/4" outlet, spring loaded
handwheel.
The A-1507-F is 1-½" MPT x 1-¼" FPT with a 60 gpm flow rate. The A-1507-G is 1-½" MPT x 1-½" FPT with a 60 gpm flow rate. For
riser or nurse tank use, it features a fast opening spring loaded bonnet, stainless steel stem and excess flow check.

The A1205 combination valve provides a new safety feature for a combination valve. The old automatic style back flow check filler
connection is replaced with a positive manual shut off stem and seat. The 1" female pipe thread liquid withdrawal outlet is equipped with
a bypass stem assembly for the protection of hose or metering device. The A1205 features a stainless steel stem, nylon seat in swivel
poppet retainer, Teflon V stem packing, all steel excess flow and ductile iron body with 400 lb. WOG. NOTE: The handwheel area of the
valve requires a 5-½" swing radius clearance for installation.

A1597R and A1598P valves consist of a service valve and an excess flow valve with a container connection of 1-¼" MNPT and outlet
connection of 1" FNPT. The built-in tri-guard internal relief valve on the A1597R bleeds product back to the tank when hose pressure
exceeds tank pressure by 50 psig. In this way, hose life is extended, chance of hose rupture is reduced, and personnel are protected. The
1598P has a ¼" FNPT plugged side outlet connection that can be used to install a hydrostatic relief valve.
The A480 series of valves are for use in nurse tank or other vapor pressure driven service. The offering includes:
 A484N-45 with 1-¼" NPT inlet and 1-¼" NPT outlet.
 A480N-60 and A480-45 with 1-½" NPT inlet and 1-¼" NPT outlet.
 A482-60 and A482-45 with 1-½" NPT inlet and 1-½" NPT outlet.
The “-60” and “-45” designations on the valves will allow nurse tank users to specify an excess flow gpm rate closer to the maximum NH3
application rate they expect to use.
The replacement valve for riser service will be the 1-½" NPT inlet by 1-¼" NPT outlet A490-95 valve which has an excess flow rating
equal to the older AL479 valve. This valve will be for riser or other pump driven service only.
It should be noted that the choice of a lower excess flow rating will NOT affect flow characteristics below the excess flow setting. For
example, an A480N-60 and an A480-45 will both flow 35 gpm of NH3 at the same differential pressure. Also, an AL479, an A490-95 and
an A480-60 (all with 1-½" NPT inlets by 1-¼" NPT outlets) will all flow 55 gpm of NH3 at the same differential pressure. This makes a 60
gpm 480 series nurse tank valve ideal for even the most demanding NH3 flow requirements from a nurse tank outlet.
The industry has moved in this direction to provide the user with choices that will ultimately increase NH3 application safety in the field.

Safety equipment container 75649 provides weatherproof protection for gloves, goggles, respirator, etc. It mounts on any size tank either
individually or in conjunction with P & H safety water containers. Complete with mounting hardware and decal.
55558 and 55945 replacement caps for P & H safety water containers. The screw type model comes with a mounting chain; the snap on
model is for older water container models.
The CRM-6000-35 water container combines a 6.9 gallon water container and a storage area for your gloves and goggles. It can be
mounted on the top or side of the tank.
CRM6000-30 is a 9 gallon convenient, easy access container for fresh water. It features a top compartment with cover for storage of
safety equipment and includes a ¾" spigot. This water container is EPA regulation compliant.

A1301 and A1310 series vapor relief valves are safety valves designed to open when the tank pressure rises above 250 psi. Used on
applicator, storage and nurse tanks. They will protect tanks, piping or hose from excessive pressure caused by overfilling or fire. Relief
valves should be replaced 5 years after the date of manufacture which is stamped on the valve. ¾" valves are used on applicator tanks
and nurse tanks. 1-¼" valves are used on storage vessels.
A400 hydrostatic relief valves are designed to relieve liquid pressure in valves, hoses, or piping wherein liquid may be trapped. Pressure
set at 400 psi. Note: All safety relief and hydrostatic relief valves must be changed five years after date of manufacture.
The A411 bleed valve has a T-handle and is designed to bleed off trapped liquid or vapor NH3 in hose valves, couplings and piping. It is
also for installation in tanks as an 85% liquid level gauge. Part number A410 is the same valve with a 12" dip tube factory installed.
A1911 knurled knob bleeder valve is 1/4" MNPT.

measurement of 41-½". For wagons with an ‘A’ measurement other than 41-½", a left hand weld on bracket (#47255) and a right hand
weld on bracket (#47256) must be ordered.
