Don’t panic if checks you have
written to me have not cleared
as quickly as you think they
should. Due to my
overwhelming schedule, I am
only able to do banking twice a

September is upon us and just as the kiddos have gone
GLORIA SLAVIK
back to school, we need to get back to the basics to
PA 1168 Bellwood
meet our weight loss goals. How many of you took a
“vacation” from your TOPS journey over the summer? If
so, it is time to start over and show some success by
years end.

READING: read your TOPS News from cover to
cover. Read the labels on every item you purchase
at the grocery store. Read all the wonderful articles
available on the TOPS website. Even when you think
there is nothing else to learn about weight loss and

health, you can always learn more.

CONGRATULATIONS!
WRITING: do you do a food chart every week? If
not, start writing one now. Do not use the excuse
that you do not have time. If you have time to bite
it, you have time to write it. How often do you send
a note to your TOPS pals? Sometimes in helping
others, we help ourselves the most. Are you on
Facebook? Write or share a post about your
journey.

Chapter Audits are due in August for the dates
of August 1, 2014-July 31, 2015. Keep the
following in mind when doing the audit:

The Treasurer does not participate in the
audit. The Treasurer should supply all
documentation to the Leader, who then does
the audit with the other members of the
Executive Committee

Monthly bank statements are to be sent to
the Leader, not the Treasurer.
ARITHMETIC: as we learned from two great losers at
IRD, weight loss is all in the numbers. How many
glasses of water should you drink a day? Do you?
How many calories should you eat per day? Do you?
Do you keep track or just hope it all works out?
Remember to get back to basics this fall and have an
awesome, successful end of the year!
You can find the audit form on the TOPS
website

Janice Geibel of PA 0181 Butler has been a TOPS member
for 35 years. She is the perfect example of “never give up”.
Janice became a KOPS member on February 26, 2015 with
a loss to goal of 101.25 pounds! Here is her story:
Wow! I finally made it! 100 pounds (plus a little more) lost. I
had tried many diets before but none worked for very long.
In June of 1980 my best friend talked me into joining TOPS with
her and I began to lose. I needed something to keep me accountable
so I began to record my food intake on a diet sheet and it works
for me. I firmly believe in keeping the sheet, it only takes a few
minutes a day and as they say in the commercials, “I am worth
it!”
The best advice I can give TOPS members is to get involved. Become
an officer. Share what works for you with others in the group.
Remember that we are all fighting the same battle! And try
keeping your diet sheet, it works!
Congratulations, Janice! You are a wonderful testament to
“What TOPS Can Do For You”!
Do you have a success story you would like to share? Send it to
