Ron Orman, a member of the Calaveras Sportsman Club, wins the
gun raffle at the awards ceremony of the US Open.

Over 200 young shooters competed in trap, skeet and 5-stand at
the US Open Championships held at Clark Co. Shooting Park in
Las Vegas.

contributions and support of youth shooting.

Association Gun Raffle Winner
Shelby Mullen, Sonora HS JV Shooter is the happy winner of a
Winchester 12 gauge synthetic camo pump shotgun.
The gun
was donated for the CYSSA State Trap Championships by
California Waterfowl Association’s George Oberstadt (George is
also the Head Coach of the El Dorado Rod and Gun Club trap
team). For more information regarding the CWA FREE Hunter

Fun Shoot at Sac Valley, a tradition in the skeet world when a
shooter breaks their first 25 straight.

Launches Skeet Program
This year, the CYSSA is adding a new shotgun sport to our
Youth Programs. This is an opportunity for existing CYSSA
trapshooters to expand their horizons by taking up a new game.
The program will also be open to new shooters upon joining
CYSSA.

Coordinator.

three fun-shoots this year: March 25 at USI (Concord), April
29 at Coon Creek (Lincoln), June 3 (at a location to be
determined) and a one-day State Championship Event July 15 at
Stockton. All our shoots were scheduled to avoid interference
with the trapshooting events.
I would like to hear from coaches and/or clubs interested in
fielding a skeet team this year. Thank You.
