Kollin Altomare Architects is a full service Architectural firm servicing the east and west coast,
along with the Hawaiian Islands. KAA has extensive experience and knowledge in Lodging, Retail,
Commercial, Office, Restaurant and Luxury Residential projects. Our Architectural Services experience
range from small-scale public space renovations or additions to complete ground up hotels, room
renovations, ancillary support building projects and large-scale new build hotel projects. We have
completed over 300 projects for such clients as The Ritz Carlton, Fairmont, Strategic Hotels & Resorts,

Complete exterior upgrade and enhancement to the façade and porte-cochere including a
new sense of arrival, glass canopy, new paint colors, glass guardrails, planters, awnings
and landscaping. The use of Porcelanosa wood grain tile adds warmth to the base of the
hotel façade and new exterior lighting highlights the building’s architectural features.

Situated on a 2.6 acre site, The Province at Valley is a 439,815 sq. ft. mixed use development
consisting of 127-unit, five-story condominium complex, 70,000 square feet of retail
space, two levels of underground parking, and a series of outdoor courtyards. The design
is modern and airy, and includes patios and balconies to look out over the thriving Valley
Boulevard corridor.

As the Architect of Record, Kollin Altomare led a team of professional consultants through
a major hotel renovation spanning over a three year period. Every aspect of the property
was surveyed for aesthetic & functional upgrades from the entry drive to the guestrooms
& suites, pool plazas, exterior façade, fenestrations, and interior public spaces along with
signage, landscaping, specialty lighting and ADA compliance.

The Ritz-Carlton Laguna Niguel
The renovation of the public spaces included the luxurious front lobby, lobby promenade, lobby
bar and lower lobby lounge. With silver lead accent and trim and crisp white paint, the beauty of
the public spaces makes a wonderful first impression on the guests.
A spectacular new 2,500SF fitness center building perched on the cliffs overlooking Salt Creek
Beach was designed to maximize the buildable area and remain within the Conditional Site
Development Permit. The roof deck of the fitness
center allows for 180 degree ocean views and
now is home to BLU180, the resorts premier
outdoor lounge. In conjunction with the new
fitness center, Kollin Altomare Architects worked
within raw back-of-house space to develop a new
8,000SF Spa facility with 12 treatment rooms, spa
retail and locker rooms with numerous amenities.
Working with Anderson Miller Interior Design,
Kollin Altomare Architects led the design
development and construction document phase
of the 396 guest rooms and corridor project
renovations. The rooms maximize ocean views,
reflecting a coastal palette and breeze, and
embodying resort style living.

Custom Hotel LAX
Creative, Hip & Playful are used to describe the Custom Hotel after the recent public space
makeover and new site amenity upgrades. In collaboration with Joie de Vivre Hospitality,
Kollin Altomare transformed this hotel into an LAX hot spot with the new Layover Lobby &
Lounge, Deck33 Bar & Restaurant, and the Stratosphere Relaxation Lounge. A new portecochere, landscaping, signage and lighting completed the new guest arrival experience.

Working in collaboration with Looney & Associates, Kollin Altomare Architects coordinated
and managed architectural and engineering plans for the exciting new atrium lobby and
restaurant transformation along with Royal Ballroom renovation. This transformation took
over 9 months and was constructed by RD Olson General Contractors.

The Fairmont Scottsdale Princess Resort added the new Palomino Conference Center
immediately adjacent to its existing Princess Conference Center, both adjoining the
resort’s main entry. The new conference center adds 52,330 square feet of state-of-the-art
meeting space, anchored by the 23,000 square foot Main Ballroom. The new space features
unique modern design elements, including bi-folding glass walls that unite stunning
interior spaces with captivating vistas and the ever-inviting Arizona climate, perfect for
open-air meetings and banquets. The center offers large, high-end break-out areas and
additional load-in/load-out flexibility for meeting planner staff. The conference center’s
dedicated arrival drive leads to a large veranda, complete with artistic water feature and
public seating for casual meetings and reflection.

A complete renovation and conversion of the existing El Encanto Plaza retail center into a
new luxurious world class spa facility. Located at the end of Front Street, this Spa boasts
commanding views of the waterfront harbor of Avalon and sits at the entrance to Via
Casino. Working in collaboration with Backen, Gillam & Kroeger Architects and Curry Spa
Consulting, Kollin Altomare Architects acted as the Architect of Record and oversaw all
document preparation and permit processing.

Kollin Altomare Architects leads the way through all phases of design, entitlement and
construction documents for a new 320 room, 5-Story hotel with a total building area of
473,770SF set in the heart of San Gabriel, CA. The building is designed with a contemporary
Art-Deco style and will have two interior courtyards along with three restaurants, street
corridor retail, and 10,000 SF of event space. The building design and site improvements
are aligned with the goals of the City of San Gabriel to promote an economic development
that will feature mixed uses and provide a project density that will support a more sustainable
project as outlined in the intent of the Valley Boulevard Specific Plan.

Landwin Hyatt Place & Residences is a 510,000 sq, ft. project that will provide numerous
retail and restaurant opportunities, a fitness center, a marketplace, and a distinctive Hyatt
Place Hotel alongside a number of privately owned units featuring amenities found in
larger resorts, including a full-service spa, an outdoor garden plaza, and spacious pool
and sun decks.
A unique aspect of this project is that it combines individually-owned condominium units
with a full-service hotel that caters to short-term visitors. The relationship between the
condo and hotel sides of the development is dynamic and includes a number of services
that benefit both condo owners and hotel guests.

A complete guestroom, public space and site renovation of the landmark property of
King Kamehameha’s Kona Beach Hotel consisted of 460 rooms and over 60,000SF of
public space. Working with Group 70 International and Pacifica Hotel Investors, the design
was drawn from the Big Island themes of lava, native flora, and the intricate detail of the
Hawaiian tattoo.
