•
All Bee’ah vehicles are fitted with GPS tracking devices hat record
location, fuel consumption, speed and capacity of the vehicles
•
Bee’ah’s bins are fitted with GPS devices to track waste volume levels.
•

OCC Collection
& Recycling Solutions
• In an effort to reduce its carbon footprint and operate more efficiently,
Tandeef established a waste transfer station within Sharjah’s
boundaries.
• The in-city transfer station allows for the gathering of the collected
waste, which is then transported on 40-tonne haulage vehicles to the
Waste Management Center in Al Saj’ah.
• This operation decreased the number of trips from 900 to an average
of 100 trips a day.

SETUP SORTING PLANTS TO MAXIMISE RECOVERY OF MATERIALS
• Bee’ah Setup & Manages The Largest Material Recovery Facility In The Middle
East & The 3rd Largest Waste Sorting Facility In The World.
• Our Facility Sorts and Separates Materials From Municipal Solid Waste, Through
Manual And Automated Processes, Recovering 23 Types of Materials

TYRE RECLING FACILITY:
•
A world-class facility using environmental cryogenic process to recycle
used tyres with a daily capacity to process 9,000 used tyres.
•
Liquid nitrogen is used to flash freeze the tyres at minus -196 degrees
Celsius, which become brittle and broken down like glass, by cracker
mills, into crumb granules.
•
Recycled rubber is used for indoor and outdoor flooring applications,
running tracks, landscaping, equestrian, roads and road asphalt.

highly advanced
environmental
cryogenic process
to recycle 9,000
used tyres per day.

CONSTRUCTION & DEMOLITION WASTE RECYCLING FACILITY:
• One of the busiest facilities in the world, given the rate of construction
in the UAE.
• The facility recycles construction, demolition and land clearing debris
resulting from the construction industry.
• Annual capacity of more than 350,000 tonnes.
2015
ZERO-WASTE
TO LANDFILL
More than 6,000 tonnes of construction
waste made up of concrete, bricks, wood,
insulation and asphalt, is processed daily
at Bee’ah’s Construction & Demolition
Waste Recycling Facility, for re-use as
aggregate for roads, pavements and
walkways.
SETUP RECYCLING FACILITIES TO RECYCLE SEGREGATED MATERIALS
ORGANIC & GREEN WASTE COMPOSTING:
•
The Compost plant processes organic and vegetation waste via
biological degradation by microorganisms.
•
This natural process breaks down organic waste into smaller organic
compounds producing an earthy nutrient-rich compost that can be
used in several applications – fertilizer and/or conditioner for
gardening.
•
In future, the Plant will incorporate new innovations and processes,
and find modern ways of expanding its scope and capabilities to treat
other organic wastes to meet the high quality demands of our clients.

THE CAR AND METAL SHREDDING & RECYCLING FACILITY:
•
Considered one of the world’s most powerful shredding
machine to date.
•
It shreds old car bodies and other light metal scrap, and
segregates the individual metal, glass and plastic components
for recycling.
•
The facility is operated on crawler tracks so that it can travel
distances, weighs 44 tonnes and can shred 60 tonnes of car
bodies/hour.

MEDICAL WASTE PROCESSING & TREATEMENT:
•
Wekaya is the medical waste management division, for the safe
and compliant collection, treatment and disposal of medical
waste produced by healthcare establishments in Sharjah.
•
It provides the necessary transfer containers, collects them, and

WASTE TO ENERGY: IMPLEMENTING CONVERSION TECHNOLOGIES
Bee’ah’s strategic plan focuses on diverting waste from landfill
and increasing the diversion rates from 62% to 100% in three
phases:
① Enhance the current operations and technical capabilities of current
facilities.
② Set up additional recycling facilities to increase recovery from current
levels to 65-70%
③ Waste to Energy program (WTE) instead of the Landfill making
diversion 100%.
