COMFORT MOBILE FAMILY MOUNTING DESCRIPTION Replacement of Netti Mobile motor My-Netti.com NETTI MOBILE REPLACEMENT OF MOTOR REPLACEMENT OF MOTORS IS ONLY TO BE PERFORMED BY AUTHORISED TECHNICIAN. Netti Mobile has 2 motors, one behind each main wheel. If only one motor is being replaced, be [email protected] aware that motors from different production batches have slightly different characteristics. Veer compensations of the motors may be necessary to secure straight forward drive. Use Veer compensation PC program. 1. Make sure all power is turned off. 2. Secure the wheelchair with some thing solid under the battery box with the back wheels lifted of the ground. 3. Remove the wheel in front of the motor to be replaced. Watch out not to lose [email protected] key on the wheel axis. 4. Unplug the cables connecting the motor to the batteries. Release the brake release wire. 5. Remove the screw holding the suspension unit. 2 [email protected] Model: Netti Mobile Version: 2016-03 6. Let the motor with clutch and bracket fall down, rotating around the bracket front screw. 7. Remove the six [email protected] head screws and washers exposed sitting on top of the motor bracket. 8. Remove the motor. For installing a new motor - follow this instruction in the revised order. [email protected] Start by placing the new motor where the red line indicates. Make sure all screws are well tightened and all cables connected before making a test run. Please note that the brake release wire must be adjusted with very little play when the lever is not operated. Model: Netti Mobile Version: 2016-03 3 [email protected] UPGRADE OF A NETTI MOBILE WITH A MAGNETIC SENSOR TO INHIBIT DRIVING WHEN THE PARK BRAKES ARE RELEASED In case you are replacing old type of motors with new type of motors you need to add also a magnetic sensor for the park brake How to upgrade a Netti Mobile to use a magnetic sensor to inhibit driving when the park brakes are released? Information about the magnetic Sensor: • C&K MPS454GW magnetic sensor. Comprises a magnet and a reed switch. • Used in the security industry. Rated for 4 million operations. • Normally open - requires a magnet in order to make a circuit • Connected to Dynamic DCI control inputs • Tolerant of wide air gaps: - over 25mm 4 Model: Netti Mobile Version: 2016-03 Components & Tools COMPONENTS: Magnet & bracket assembly Reed switch & bracket assembly Loom terminal strip to power module Tools: M12 spanner, 4mm Hex key, 5mm Hex key, Small blade screwdriver Model: Netti Mobile Version: 2016-03 5 INSTALL THE REED SWITCH: Using the spanner and a Hex key remove the brass park brake lever pivot. The park brake lever will come free. Remove the frame plug. Holding the park brake lever in place, push the reed switch bracket into the frame either side of the park brake lever. Make sure the hole in the lever lines up with the hole in the reed switch bracket and the hole for the park brake pivot. Replace park brake lever pivot and secure it using the screw you removed. 6 Model: Netti Mobile Version: 2016-03 INSTALL THE MAGNET: Slide the magnet & bracket assembly onto the handle. Fix the park brake handle to the park brake lever. Check that the magnet is approximately opposite to and parallel with the reed switch. The distance between the magnet and the reed switch will be about 13mm, that’s well within the operating specification of the magnetic sensor Model: Netti Mobile Version: 2016-03 7 CONNECT THE REED SWITCH: Dynamics-Shark Power module Dynamics-DX2 Power module 8 Model: Netti Mobile Version: 2016-03 Open the electronics box then either unplug the Shark port connector or unplug the battery connector and unclip the DX2 accessory connector from it. Insert one of the loom terminals into the space in the connector for B- and the other into the space for DCI. Although manufacturer’s insertion tools are available a small narrow flat blade screw driver can be used. Push the terminal into the back of the connector until you hear a click. Connect one of the loom wires to terminal 8 of the terminal strip and the other to terminal 10 Connect the reed switch wires to the terminal strip opposite to the loom wires. One to terminal 8 the other to terminal 10. Make sure the wires from the reed switch lie inside the frame of the Netti Mobile. Secure the wires with cable ties as necessary. Model: Netti Mobile Version: 2016-03 9 CIRCUIT DIAGRAMS – SHARK + DX2 10 Model: Netti Mobile Version: 2016-03 PROGRAMMING & TESTING Using Dynamic Wizard, reprogram the control system to V2.0 or higher if available. You may need to adjust the veer compensation as well. See User Manual Wizard The latest programs for Shark or DX2 are available from Alu Rehab. Check the park brakes are fully released when the free-wheel lever is operated and fully engaged when the free-wheel lever is in the drive position. Driving must be inhibited when the free-wheel lever is in the free-wheel position. If the chair fails this test it must not be used again until this problem is corrected. There must be no flash codes. Do a test drive on level ground for 2 minutes. The chair should drive correctly and be able to climb a 50mm obstacle with no problems. The motors must remain cool or warm with no hot spots.
