Spring/Summer 2016
Spring/Summer 2016 Stetson Classics In 1865, John B. Stetson fashioned the hat that would become the symbol of American independence, individuality, integrity and strength. Today everything that carries the Stetson brand, from authentic Westernwear to rugged Actionwear to contemporary Streetwear and timeless classics, stays true to these American values: Make things right and the best they can be. We are proud of the durability and high quality of our products and have proven these characteristics for more than 150 years. Stetson x Forvert Stetson has joined forces with skatewear brand Forvert to flip our old school classics into something new for 2016. The Spring/Summer collection was inspired by the carefree attitude and unconventional styling that embodies skate culture. In that spirit, Stetson offers up easy-towear raffia straw hats – perfect for casual dressing. Stetson also goes BIG on brilliant tribal, floral, and geometric printed caps that will never fade into the crowd. The result is an authentic, fun, and youthful twist on Stetson’s legendary quality hats & caps. Product highlights this season include a range of straw fedoras and trilbies woven with multi-toned, twisted raffia and trimmed with 1950’s style Hawaiian shirt prints. Stitched straws are wrapped with bold geometric printed bands, and some of Stetson’s favorite cap styles are presented in radical florals, and African ethno prints. Each hat in the limited-edition Spring/Summer 2016 collaboration is marked with a “Stetson x Forvert” plaque and label. Each hat and cap is adorned with a handsome blackon-black hangtag calling out the partnership. A new online contest deals with the topic of skater culture. Stetson connoisseurs will find ivy caps in a new, effortless super crepe in blue/camel or camel/beige with contrast seams. Cotton/linen herringbone enters the third dimension: enzyme washing creates a relaxed, but luxurious look. The same is achieved by the new ivy and retro caps with a tone-in-tone metal thread in cotton twill. Patchwork, but woven: small squares in bright multicolored tones cover classic ivy and 8-panel newsboy caps. Stripes of varying widths are available in blue/khaki/black or olive/ocher/beige. A microdesign brings across a fine honeycomb pattern in ivy caps. Double-face twill is turned inside out on the edge striwps for a strong contrast. Fine herringbone made of cashmere and silk in camel/red or blue/brown will escort you through the summer with refinement. Herringbone in bleached denim is also used for buckets. In the Heritage line, classic checks and herringbone with an oversized check pattern in silk, supplemented with hickory strips in wool/linen, will catch your eye. Beginners can try out the current trilbies and ivy, baseball, and newsboy caps in washed-out, large checks with an overprint, oxford, glencheck, or herringbone in soft tones. A highlight in viscose is the cold-dyed vintage design with a soft finish – also available as a cowboy hat. Viscose is being reinterpreted, whether pure or with Abacá, with a trim band with a small digital check pattern, or with a grass print, bright club stripes, or linen herringbone. Nature colors can be seen, as well as blue or red in trilbies, newsboy caps, porkpie, diamonds, fedoras, and travelers. Exciting raffia variants of the typical forms are in coming: as pure, natural straw with a multicolored, checked or cord ribbon with fine strips, combined with wheat for slight gloss and tone-in-tone with a vintage leather band, doubled with sea grass and a „used“ spray finish – or laminated from the inside with a colored weave for two-tone optics. The new Panama hats will be available with Torcido weaving and special tone-in-tone vintage haptics. www.stetson-europe.com
