Grandstand Events Hillbilly Ninja Warrior Mud pits, tractor tires, straw bales, rope swings -- do you think you have what it takes to be a Hillbilly Ninja Warrior? On Monday, Aug. 1 at the Brown County Fair, you can give it a try -- in front of hundreds of your friends and neighbors. Hillbilly Ninja Warrior is a new grandstand event this year, modeled after the popular TV show American Ninja Warrior. Individual contestants test their physical strength by powering through a series of obstacles. The idea for a Brown County version grew out of a larger health and wellness initiative for county government employees -- the Brown County Wellness Committee -- said Brown County Purdue Extension Educator Lisa Wilson. At the grandstand event, Ninja Warrior contestants will compete on the course as individuals, but they can pool their points as a team in order to get a better average and possibly a better chance for prizes. Prizes: There will be separate classes for youth -- 15 & younger -and adults -- 16& up. Ages 5-8 & 9-12: First, $50; second, $30; third, $20. Ages 13-15 and 16 & up: First, $100; second, $50; third, $25. The adult first-place finisher also gets the title of Ultimate Hillbilly Ninja Warrior. Entry fees: $10 per youth and $15 per adult.
