At Venus Over Manhattan, the SoCal artist Raymond Pettibon’s 40 works devoted to surfing bear the comic-book strokes of his mythopoetic style. And while Oregon-based Dan Attoe’s depictions of frolickers in the water, on view at Peres Projects in Berlin, aren’t as action-packed, they are no less monumental in tone. “Dan Attoe: Landscapes With Water” is on view through April 19 at Berlin’s Peres Projects, Karl-Marx-Allee 82. “Are Your Motives Pure?
