CHOLET INTERNATIONAL MIDGET TOURNAMENT FRANCE - May 2011 PLAYERS BORN IN 93 / 94 / 95 In partnership with the Cholet Hockey Club, INTERNATIONAL HOCKEY TOURS & HOCKEY2 offer you to take part in the 8th Hockey Trophy of Cholet and the opportunity to represent your country. The tournament will take place from May 6th to May 8th 2011 in the Cholet arena, “Glisseo” The International Tournament of Cholet is organized on ages: 93-94-95 6 to 8 teams will participate in this tournament Each team will play 5 games Tournament formula: 2 pools of 4 teams, in each pool, teams will play as in a round-robin tournament. The tournament formula can change regarding of the number of team in the tournament and the ice time available. Each player will receive a set with one jersey and socks with the American colors as a gift TOURNAMENT RULES (Quote for the 2010 edition) A team must have 11 players and 1 goaltender minimum or 18 players and 2 goaltenders maximum (on the bench) as well as 4 coaches maximum. The ages of the games will be in agreement with the IIHF laws Games of 3 x 10 minutes 6 to 8 teams Lineup changes without stops 2 minutes break between the periods 5 minutes warm-up If a game is tied at the end of the regulation time for the classification and final games, there will be 3 throws of shooting.... Check-in formalities. Flight Los Angeles / Paris CDG. Meal and snack served on board. DAY 2 Tuesday 3rd May 2011 PARIS Arrival at Paris - Roissy Charles-de-Gaulle Airport. Customs formalities. Luggage pick-up. Meeting with your team guide. Transfer by bus to downtown Paris. Lunch not included for the group. Narrated cruise on fly boats over the “Seine” River: you will discover some of the greatest monuments of the “Historical Paris”. Check-in at the hotel. Dinner not included and overnight accommodation at the hotel for the group. DAY 3 Wednesday 4th May 2011 PARIS Breakfast at the hotel for the group. Transfer by bus. Visit of the “Eiffel Tower”: while rising the tower, you will see the extraordinary architectural audacity of this edifice. At the top of the tower (324 meters high), you will overlook the whole city of Paris. Lunch not included for the group. Spare time for shopping or visits on the world most famous Avenue “Les Champs Elysées”. Visit of the Cathedral Notre Dame celebrated by Victor Hugo. Dinner included on the “Butte Montmartre” which is the artistic quarter in Paris. City tour by night by bus to discover the main monuments lighted. Overnight accommodation at the hotel for the group. DAY 4 Thursday 5th May 2011 PARIS / CHOLET 237 miles / ~5 hours Breakfast at the hotel for the group. Transfer by bus. Visit of the Louvre Museum, the biggest in Paris and one of the most famous around the world. Among the most beautiful pieces of art in the world, you will discover la Joconde of Leonardo da Vinci or the Venus de Milo… Lunch included for the group. Transfer by bus to Cholet. Greeting by the host families of the Cholet Hockey Club. Dinner and overnight accommodation in host families for players. Dinner not included and accommodation at the hotel for parents and coaches. Visit of the “Grand Parc du Puy du Fou”, a theme park where you will see and learn about gladiators, knights, Vikings and Musketeers. Lunch not included in the park. Transfer back to Cholet. Cholet International Tournament Opening Ceremony. Games regarding the program of the tournament. Dinner included at the tournament cafeteria for the players and coaches. Accommodation in host families for the players. Dinner not included and accommodation at the hotel for the parents. DAY 6 Saturday 7th May 2011 CHOLET TOURNAMENT Players and coaches: Breakfast in host families for players and at the hotel for coaches. Games regarding the program of the tournament. Lunch and dinner included at the tournament cafeteria for the players and coaches. Accommodation in host families for players and at the hotel for coaches. Parents: Breakfast at the hotel. Spare day. Accommodation in host families for players and at the hotel for coaches. Parents: Breakfast at the hotel. Spare day. Lunch and dinner not included. Accommodation at the hotel. DAY 8 Monday 9th May 2011 CHOLET / LA ROCHELLE / CHOLET 80 miles/~ 2h (one way) Breakfast in host families for the players and at the hotel for the parents and coaches. Transfer to by bus to La Rochelle on the Atlantic coast. Spare time in La Rochelle. You may visit one of the largest Aquarium in Europe, or take a cruise to Fort Boyard or just enjoy the beach. Lunch not included for the group. Transfer back to Cholet. Dinner and accommodation in host families for the players. Dinner not included and accommodation at the hotel for the parents. This castle used to be a fortress built by Foulque Nerra. Transfer back to Cholet. Dinner and accommodation in host families for the players. Dinner not included and accommodation at the hotel for the parents. Flight Paris / Los Angeles. Meal and snack served on board. Arrival at Los Angeles Airport. Luggage pick-up. Beware: This program will be definitive only according to the agreement of the tournament, host families, tourist attractions and according to the flight schedule. Non contractual pictures. GENERAL INFORMATION Coach rules: French coach regulation in France is very strict (many controls, limited driving hours...). Drivers are not allowed to overpass 9 hours of driving per day (including break times) in a range of 12 hours per day. Free Meals in the program: Allow 10 to 20 Euro per lunch and 20 to 35 Euro per dinner. Jet-Lag: There is a nine hours jet-lag between France and California. It’s 9.00 am in L.A. while it’s 6.00 pm in Paris. Hotel: The European hotel rooms are less spacious than in North American hotel rooms! They can welcome 3 people (2 adults and a child). For families, we will provide you 2 or 3 side by side rooms. Visits: According to your choice and to the possibilities, we can change some visits of this program but at least 3 months prior to departure! A payment plan will be sent to you after receiving the first account. A payment every two or three months should be planned. • The complete list of all participants with last names, first names and dates of birth + Team Roster • The rooming list for parents first then for parents and players The last payment must be cashed at least 60 days prior to the departure date so before March 2nd 2011. Each player can register one hockey bag as an extra luggage (the extra fees are included in our player rate). PRICE REVISION The prices published in this program were determined in accordance with the followings: • Transport cost based on current price of petrol • Exchange rate • Necessary charges and taxes such as port and airport taxes Should one of these data change significantly, we reserve ourselves the right to modify our prices. INSURANCE INTERNATIONAL HOCKEY TOURS advises you to subscribe to all the guarantees in order to be compensated in case of any unforeseeable events that could arise before or during your journey. You may check with your own insurance or with your bank regarding your credit card. Usually, if you settle your trip by credit card, you may have a cancellation insurance included. Your insurance will allow you to be reimbursed notably of cancellation fees charged by IHT in case of cancellation for medical reason. In order to travel, you MUST have CIVIL LIABILITY insurance and we will request a certificate. If you do not have one, we can subscribe for you to this insurance on demand. The contract we provide you includes CIVIL LIABILITY – RAPATRIATION – MEDICAL CARE – LUGGAGE insurances for the price of 40 EUR per person. Documentation is available upon request only.
