THE RELIGIOUS TREATY WITH IRAN
who bless you, and I will curse those who curse you” (Gen. 12:3).
Most would object to the statement, “religious treaty with
Iran,” however, that’s exactly what it is. We do not think
of it in those terms, but that’s exactly the way the Iranians
think of it.
Israel is surrounded by a sea of Muslims. Many if not most
of these Muslims have sworn the destruction of Israel, which
the Koran states that which must be done. Actually, the
Muslim world hates both Israel and America, with the anger
going back against Israel some 4,000 years. They are called
the little Satan, while America is called the great Satan.
Everything they do is according to what they believe
the Koran teaches. And the following is what the Koran
teaches about treaties:
First of all, no treaty is to be signed by any Muslim leader
unless it favors Islam. And then, if the treaty seems to
turn a different direction where it does not favor Islam, at
any time, they can break the treaty, etc. So what does that
mean?
It means that you cannot have any type of treaty with Muslims. It’s a total waste of time. If they think the treaty is no
longer favoring them, they can break it. So any effort to try
to form some type of agreement with them is pointless.
So what do we have now? We don’t have anything. The
Iranians have $150 billion that we’ve given them, their
money I might quickly add which was frozen, plus they
can build any type of atomic bomb they so desire. The
upshot is, they are going to build an atomic bomb, treaty
or no treaty. But our leaders do not understand the religion of Islam. And by not understanding it, we are getting
taken to the cleaners, so to speak.
WHERE DOES THAT LEAVE ISRAEL?
That’s a good question!
I think it’s the right thing to say, that the present administration in Washington is no friend of Israel whatsoever.
And to be frank, that is a tremendously dangerous situation in which we find ourselves. The Lord meant what He
said when He spoke the words to Abraham, “I will bless those

Almost all of our leaders have adopted the program that
the greater bulk of Muslims in the world are peace-loving
people, etc, etc. And that only a few have hijacked the religion of Islam and turned it into something that is radical.
Nothing could be further from the truth.
While all Muslims aren’t murderers, the truth is that all
Muslims are in sympathy with the murderers. This we fail
to understand. As I said previously, they go by the Koran,
and the Koran says death to America and Israel. At least
that’s the way that they interpret it. I pray that in the
upcoming election that whoever is elected president will
have a right view of Islam, and will, as well, have a right

view of Israel. Both things are critical, but especially that
concerning Israel. Adolf Hitler set out to exterminate all
Jews. His effort concluded by the whole of Germany being
totally destroyed. Our leaders should not forget that.
PRAY FOR OUR LEADERS
To be sure, those who govern this country are facing
problems that no one else before them ever had to face.
And more and more of these problems are spiritual, even
though the powers that be do not understand that. The
truth is this: if believers will join together in believing
prayer, tremendous things can be done, and I’ll tell you
why—whatever of significance is done on this earth, it first
takes place in the spirit world.
What do I mean by that?
It means that powerful righteous angels actually do
combat with evil angels (those who rebelled with Satan),
and the outcome is predicated on the condition of the
church. Regrettably, the church is in worse condition spiritually than it’s been in its history in this country. So that
means that the darkened forces of the spirit world have an
upper hand.
The Lord has given this responsibility to the church, but
I’m afraid we’re not using it very wisely. We need intercessors! We need men and women who are godly and who
know how to pray!
THE SONLIFE BROADCASTING NETWORK
At the time of this writing, we are now airing in 83 million homes in the U.S. We are airing in nearly 200 million homes in other countries of the world. That is beside
the Internet and satellites. Actually, almost the whole of
Africa is covered by satellites, and we are on all of those
satellites. I’m told, and whether it’s correct or not I cannot
really say, that those who would desire to see the network
in one way or the other—over 2 billion people—can tune
it in any time of the day or night. That’s a staggering
number of people. And yet, the gospel of Jesus Christ is the
single most important thing on the face of the earth.

behalf. As Paul said, “Pray for us that the gospel will have

We must
understand that

been with Elijah for approximately 10 years.
His training had been by firsthand observation. It most definitely would prove to be sufficient, which would result in a tremendous
visitation for Israel.

that could be said of the entirety of mankind.
In fact, God can deal with mankind only from
the premise of grace for the simple reason that
if we had to earn it or merit it, we would be
found woefully wanting.
Elisha knew that Elijah was about to be taken,
but at this stage, not how he would be taken;
consequently, he would not let the great
prophet out of his sight.
We must understand that grace is made possible entirely by the Cross of Christ. In other
words, our Lord is the source of grace, while the
Cross is the means by which this great grace is
given unto us.
THE PERSISTENCE OF ELISHA
There is a tremendous lesson to be learned here
as it regards the last days of the great Prophet
Elijah, and the persistence that Elisha evidenced as it regards that which he desired. We
must take note of that persistence.
It is the persistent soul who reaps the benefits
of what Christ has done for us at Calvary, and
only the persistent soul (Lk. 11:5-13).
The things of God are not come by easily. We
cannot merit them, and neither can we earn
them. They are freely given. Yet, the Lord does
not hand out His gifts indiscriminately. In
other words, they aren’t easily possessed.
We must know and understand that whatever
it is that we’ve received from God, and I mean
whatever, is received by grace.
What do we mean by receiving by grace?
THE GRACE OF GOD
The grace of God is simply the goodness of God
God did not have any less grace 3,000 years
ago than He does now. It’s the Cross that has
made grace available to us and it’s the Cross
alone. That’s what we mean when we say the
following:
• Jesus Christ is the source of all things we
receive from God.
• The Cross of Christ is the means, and the only
means, by which these things can be given to
us.
• With that being the case, the Cross of Christ
must ever be the object of our faith. In fact, the
entirety of the story of the Bible is “Jesus Christ
and Him crucified.” So, when one has his faith
in Christ and the Cross, that is having his faith
in the Word.
• With this being done, understanding that
Christ is the source, and the Cross is the means,
and having our faith anchored in Christ and
the Cross, the Holy Spirit, who works exclusively within the parameters, so to speak, of

Plan of Salvation. If you are unsure where you will go when
you die, please listen to what God has said in His Word:
the finished work of Christ, will
then work mightily on our behalf.
He doesn’t require much of us, but
He does require one thing, and on
that He will not bend, and that
is that our faith be exclusively
in Christ and what He did for us
at the Cross (Rom. 6:1-14; 8:1-11;
I Cor. 1:17-18, 23; 2:2; Gal. 6:14;
Col. 2:10-15; Phil. 3:17-19).
FIRST: GOD LOVES YOU!
“For God so loved the world that he gave His only Begotten
Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but
have Everlasting Life” (Jn. 3:16).
SECOND: MAN IS A SINNER, AND SIN
HAS SEPARATED HIM FROM GOD
“For there is not a just man upon Earth, that doeth good
and sinneth not” (Eccl. 7:20).
“For all have sinned and come short of the Glory of God”
(Rom. 3:23).
THIRD: JESUS CHRIST IS THE ONLY REMEDY FOR SIN
THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH
““Howbeit when He, the Spirit
of truth, is come (which He did
on the Day of Pentecost), He will
guide you into all truth (if our
faith is properly placed in Christ
and the Cross, the Holy Spirit can
then bring forth truth to us; He doesn’t guide into some truth, but rather ‘all
truth’): for He shall not speak of Himself (tells us not only what He does,
but whom He represents); but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He
speak (doesn’t refer to lack of knowledge, for the Holy Spirit is God and knows
everything, but rather He will proclaim the work of Christ only): and He will
show you things to come (pertains to the new covenant, which would shortly
be given).
““He shall glorify Me (will portray Christ and what Christ did at the Cross for
dying humanity): for He shall receive of Mine (the benefits of the Cross), and
shall show it unto you (which He did when He gave these great truths to the
Apostle Paul [Rom., Chpts. 6-8; Gal. 1:12]).
““All things that the Father has are Mine (has always been the case; however, due to the Cross, all these things can now be given to the believer as well):
therefore said I, that He shall take of Mine, and shall show it unto you
(the foundation of all the Holy Spirit reveals to the church is what Christ did at
the Cross [Col. 2:10-15])” (Jn. 16:13-15).
As we shall see, the various places named in this scenario hold a lesson for us
as it regards the persistence of Elisha.
GILGAL
“For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for
the unjust, that He might bring us to God ...” (I Pet. 3:18).
“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none
other name under Heaven given among men, whereby we
must be saved” (Acts 4:12).
FOURTH: YOU MUST RECEIVE JESUS CHRIST
AS YOUR PERSONAL LORD AND SAVIOUR
Jesus calls this experience the new birth. He told
Nicodemus: “... Except a man be born again, he cannot
see the Kingdom of God” (Jn. 3:3).
We invite you now to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as
your personal Saviour. “But as many as received Him,
to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to
them that believe on His Name” (Jn. 1:12).
WE BELIEVE:
»»The Bible is the inspired and only infallible and authoritative
written Word of God (Ps. 119; Mat. 4:4; Lk. 24:27).
»»There is one God, eternally existent in three Persons: God
the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit (I Jn. 5:7).
»»In the Deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His Virgin Birth,
in His Sinless Life, in His Miracles, in His Vicarious and
atoning Death, in His Bodily Resurrection, in His Ascension
to the Right Hand of the Father, in His personal future
return to this Earth in Power and Glory to rule a thousand
years (Jn. 1:1-4; Eph. 2:13-18; Rev., Chpts. 19-20).
»»In the Blessed Hope — the Rapture of the Church at
Christ’s Coming (I Thess. 4:13-18).
»»The only means of being cleansed from sin is through
Repentance and Faith in the Precious Blood of Christ
(Rom. 5:1; Eph. 2:8-9, 13-18).
»»Regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential
for personal Salvation (Jn. 3:5-8; Titus 3:5).
»»The Redemptive Work of Christ on the Cross provides
Healing of the human body in answer to believing
prayer (Ex. 15:25-26; James 5:14-15; I Pet. 2:24).
»»The Baptism with the Holy Spirit according to Acts 2:4 is
given to Believers who ask for it (Acts 2:4; 10:44-46; 19:1-7).
»»In the Sanctifying Power of the Holy Spirit by Whose
indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a holy life
(Rom. 6:3-14; 8:1-2, 11).
»»In the Resurrection of both the saved and the lost: the
one to Everlasting Life and the other to everlasting
damnation (Rev. 20:5-6, 11-15).
PRAY THIS PRAYER AND MEAN IT WITH ALL OF YOUR HEART:
They began this odyssey at a place called Gilgal. It has been argued as to
whether this was the Gilgal next to Jericho—where the children of Israel under
Joshua came into the Promised Land approximately 700 years before—or
another Gilgal up north. Scholars have debated it both ways. However, from
investigation, I personally think it was the Gilgal up north instead of the one
near Jericho. The reason is this: When the two prophets left Gilgal, they went
to Beth-el, which is immediately south of Gilgal up north, and then to Jericho. If they had gone first of all to the Gilgal near Jericho, they would then
have had to travel quite a ways north to go to Beth-el and then back down to
Jericho, which does not seem to make sense.
At any rate, and as previously stated, Gilgal was the beginning for Elisha in

Find out who the Lord is anointing with the Holy Spirit and make doubly
certain that it, in fact, is the Holy Spirit, and then take up your place
beside that person. The anointing is the key!
the sense of him taking the role of the
prophet for the northern kingdom of
Israel.
Some of you reading these words are
presently standing, spiritually speaking, at your Gilgal. Irrespective of
the past, it can be, and, in fact, the
Lord intends for it to be, your beginning. You see, the Lord does not function from a “three strikes and you’re
out” syndrome, but He is ready and
willing — irrespective of the past — to
make this here and now your beginning, if you will only believe Him,
trust Him, and consecrate wholly to
Him.
BETH-EL
The word Beth-el means “house of
God”; so, Elijah and Elisha came
from the place of beginning, at least
for the role that Elisha would play, to
the house of God, which was quite a
proper place to go.
And yet, all of this is symbolism, but
I personally feel it spoke volumes to
Elisha. Wherever Elijah went at this
time, no doubt, was ordered by the
Lord, and all for the benefit, it seems,
of Elisha.
Beth-el was the place where Jacob
had his encounter with the Lord, as it
regarded the ladder to heaven, right
after he left home because of problems
concerning Esau. So now, as it refers
to Elisha, it would in some way speak
to him as well!
JERICHO
Jericho was the first obstacle encountered by the children of Israel when
they came into the Promised Land
after crossing the Jordan. It was one
of the greatest cities in the land of
Canaan. However, its walls would fall
beneath the power of God, and the city
would be taken with virtually no casualties whatsoever as it regarded God’s
people. What had been so formidable
now became a symbol of great victory.
Once again, this symbolism, I am
sure, was not lost on Elisha.
We begin at Gilgal, the place of beginnings, which actually means “rolled
away.”
Elijah then went to Beth-el, meaning
the house of God, which is where God
once spoke, and I continue to refer to
Jacob. Then the two prophets went to
Jericho, the scene of the first great victory for the children of Israel so many,
many years before, as they would go
into the Promised Land. During all of
this time, the great prophet was telling Elisha, “Tarry here.” The answer
always was, “As the LORD lives, and as
your soul lives, I will not leave you.”
Undoubtedly, Elisha knew that the
days of Elijah were numbered. How
much he knew, we aren’t told, but
there was something there that
pressed him — the significance of
these last days. Irrespective as to what
Elijah told him, at least as it regarded
his place and position, he let the great
prophet know that he would not leave
him, no matter what. This is the persistence that God desired.
So the narrative states, “And they two
went on” (II Ki. 2:6).
The anointing of the Holy Spirit was
upon Elijah. Elisha knew this, so he
would not let the great prophet out of
his sight.
THE ANOINTING
Let the reader understand the following: The anointing is the key and the
criterion for the place and position of
the saint of God. Find out who the
Lord is anointing with the Holy Spirit
and make doubly certain that it, in
fact, is the Holy Spirit, and then take
up your place beside that person. The
anointing is the key!
But, as we have already alluded, there
is much fake anointing in the land.
However, if the believer will earnestly
seek the Lord and ask for leading and
guidance, to be sure, he will be led to
the right person and the right place.
THE SONS OF
THE PROPHETS
“And fifty men of the sons of the prophets
went, and stood to view afar off: and they
two stood by Jordan” (II Ki. 2:7).
The “sons of the prophets” could have
had, at least somewhat, the blessing
as received by Elisha; however, their
thoughts and interests were elsewhere.
While it would not have been proper
for the sons of the prophets to have
placed themselves in the same position as Elisha, for the Lord had not
called them for this purpose, still, they
should have been closer than merely

to “view afar off.” This is all too often the condition of the
church. At best, it views the anointing from “afar off.”
There is no record in the Scriptures that the sons of the
prophets had the anointing; consequently, there is very
little good they did in Israel or Judah.
THE CROSSING
OF THE JORDAN
This would be the last miracle, it seems, performed by
Elijah. Beautifully enough, it would be the first miracle
performed by Elisha after the translation of Elijah. Elijah
would take his mantle, which was a robe-like affair, smite
the Jordan, and the waters would open. He and Elisha
would go to the eastern side of the river. This would be at
the foot of Mount Pisgah, from where Moses viewed the
Promised Land but was not allowed to enter in.
In a sense, Elijah and Elisha were similar to Moses and
Joshua; consequently, the Lord would translate Elijah very
near where He personally conducted the funeral for Moses.
Only Elisha saw the translation of Elijah, and, in fact, no
one saw the death and burial of Moses except God.
As the Jordan opened, the Scripture says, “They two went
over on dry ground” (II Ki. 2:8).
THE DOUBLE PORTION
“And it came to pass, when they were gone over, that Elijah said
unto Elisha, Ask what I shall do for you, before I be taken away
from you. And Elisha said, I pray you, let a double portion of
your spirit be upon me” (II Ki. 2:9).
Verse 9 proclaims Elijah requesting of Elisha, “Ask what I
shall do for you, before I be taken away from you.”
Quite a statement! That statement, in fact, is asked of the
whole church. The answer in the last few years has been
very revealing: Money, fame, prestige, influence, recognition, approval, dominion, and more. Precious few have
answered as Elisha, “Let a double portion of your spirit be
upon me.” Actually, Elisha was asking for the portion of
the firstborn. Elijah responded, “You have asked a hard
thing” (II Ki. 2:10). It could have been translated, and did
actually mean, “You have staked a great claim.” The request
expresses the greatness of the appetite of the heart of Elisha
for spiritual power. In other words, Elijah’s response was
an approval of Elisha’s request. He would then continue in
this spirit in which Elisha had been functioning from the
very beginning, “If you see me,” speaking of Elijah’s coming
translation. Elisha’s faith that had remained so very close
thus far would have little difficulty in the remainder of the
distance.

THE TRANSLATION
OF ELIJAH
“And it came to pass, as they still went on,
and talked, that, behold, there appeared
a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and
parted them both asunder; and Elijah
went up by a whirlwind into heaven”
(II Ki. 2:11).
In the original Hebrew, it says, “And
Elijah went up in a storm into the heavens.” There is no mention of a whirlwind, for only two of the seed of Adam,
Enoch and Elijah, have passed
from earth without dying.
Cross, when believers died, they were
not taken to heaven, but rather down
into paradise, which, in fact, was next
door to hell. This was due to the fact
that the blood of bulls and goats could
not take away sins. Jesus said that
there was a “great gulf” which separated paradise (Abraham’s bosom)
from hell itself (Lk. 16:26).
So, where did Elijah go when he was
translated? Was it up to heaven, as
it regards the abode of God, or down
into paradise? Every evidence is that
Elijah and Elisha were on the
eastern side of the Jordan River,
with that body of water having
just opened miraculously at
the behest of the great prophet.
Elijah and Elisha were conversing at this time, about what,
we aren’t told.
The word fire in the Hebrew, as here
used, is esh and means “that which is
literal or figurative.” In this instance,
it is used in the figurative sense. In
other words, the chariot and the
horses looked like fire. As should be
understood, these were spirit horses,
which were actually pulling a chariot.
Some claim that Elijah really did not
go up into heaven in the chariot, but
rather followed. However, the implication is the opposite; the Lord took
the great prophet home to glory in a
chariot of fire.
HEAVEN
When Jesus died on the Cross, He paid
the terrible sin debt that man owed
but could not pay. However, before the

If it was the topic of conversation then,
before the fact, how much should it be
the topic of conversation now, considering it is after the fact? I think the

Moses was a type of the law, thereby,
when he died, he went to paradise, which was in the heart of
the earth (Lk. 16:19-31).
Elijah was a type of the new
covenant under Christ and,
thereby, a type of the rapture.
When he was translated, he
was taken to heaven, the
abode of God, and not paradise in the heart of the earth.
All of a sudden, it happened.
That which was invisible to
the naked eye became visible
to Elisha. He literally saw a
chariot of fire and horses of fire. In
fact, this progression “parted them both
asunder.”

Approximately 900 years later, both
Moses and Elijah appeared on the
Mount of Transfiguration and conversed with our Lord. In fact, they
were seen by Peter, James, and John,
who had accompanied the Lord to
the top of the mountain. Jesus was
there transfigured before them, which
means that a light, actually, a living
light, so to speak, literally emanated
from His person. It was not on Him,
but rather from Him, which portrayed who and what He actually
was, which was and is deity, despite
His human frame, i.e., the incarnation (Lk. 9:28-31).
THE CROSS
Actually, our Lord, Moses, and Elijah

ELIJAH WILL COME BACK
This will take place at about the
midpoint of the great tribulation
(Mat. 24:21).
At that time, both
Elijah and Enoch will be brought back
because they are the only two human
beings who will actually have never
died, other than the believers who
will go in the rapture when that event
takes places. They will minister for
approximately three and a half years
and will be a sore thorn in the side of
the Antichrist. No doubt, their ministry will turn many in Israel to Christ,
and possibly the entirety of the world.
While the Antichrist will repeatedly
try to kill them during that three and
a half years, he will not be successful
until the very end of that period, when
the Lord will allow these two great
prophets to then be killed.

The phrase, ‘Before the coming of the
great and dreadful day of the LORD,’
addresses the coming great tribulation, and, more specifically, the second
coming. It will be a ‘great day’ for
God’s people and a ‘dreadful day’ for
His enemies!
Malachi went on to say, “And he shall
turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their
fathers, lest I come and smite the earth
with a curse” (Mal. 4:6).
“The fathers” speak of the patriarchs
and prophets of old.
Malachi, the last great prophet before
John the Baptist, stated, “Behold, I will
send you Elijah the prophet before the
coming of the great and dreadful day of
the LORD” (Mal. 4:5).
THAT WHICH IS COMING
The following are the notes from The
Expositor’s Study Bible regarding
Malachi 4:5:
The phrase, ‘Behold, I will send you
Elijah the prophet,’ does not refer to the
coming of John the Baptist, who only
came in the spirit of Elijah. It actually
refers to ‘Elijah the prophet,’ who was
translated about 500 years before the
time of Malachi, and who will be sent
back to the earth by the Lord in the
midst of the coming great tribulation.
At that time, he and Enoch of Revelation 11:3 will be used of God mightily
as they prophesy in Jerusalem. Their
ministry will last for the entirety of the
last three and a half years of the great
tribulation. Both will be killed by the
Antichrist at the end of the great tribulation, ‘when they shall have finished
their testimony.’ However, after three
and a half days, they will be resurrected and raptured (Rev. 11:11-12).
As John the Baptist prepared the way
for the first advent of Christ, these two,
Elijah and Enoch, will prepare the way
for the second coming of Christ.
THE CURSE
The phrase, “Lest I come and smite the
earth with a curse,” proclaims the obvious fact that there is no word following “curse” in the last verse of the old
covenant, meaning there is more to
follow. Thank God!
In contrast, the word amen follows the
last words of the book of Revelation,
closing the canon of Scripture, because
after “grace,” which is the theme of the
ministry of Christ, there is nothing
left to be said but “amen.” Thank God!
The world was not left with a curse,
but Jesus Christ came and “redeemed
us from the curse of the law, being made a
curse for us” (Gal. 3:13; Mal. 4:6).
Christ the judge; for as death was inevitable, the judgment is inevitable as well)”
(Heb. 9:27).
This pertains to all of humanity, with
the exception of those who will go in
the rapture (I Thess. 4:13-18).
The only two men on earth who
have never died are Enoch and Elijah
because they were translated; however, to fulfill this passage, both will
come back and minister in Jerusalem, as stated, in the latter half of the
great tribulation, which, at the conclusion of that time frame, they shall be
killed. This will satisfy the Scripture.
Thus writes the chapter of the ministry and translation of Elijah; however,
it definitely is not the last chapter.
That will come, as stated, at the latter
half of the great tribulation, and then
there will be a final chapter of Elijah
with all the redeemed and with the
Lord Jesus Christ, which chapter will
never end.

Some claim that Enoch will not be
the second witness of Revelation,
Chapter 11. They claim the second
witness will be Moses because he
appeared with Elijah on the Mount of
Transfiguration.
While that is possible, we must allow
the Scripture to be the final word.
The Scripture says, “And as it is
appointed unto men once to die (due
to the fall, all men are under the sentence
of death, and, in fact, all have died spiritually, which means to be separated from
God), but after this the judgment (the
answer to the spiritual death of man is
Christ and what He did at the Cross; if
Christ the Saviour is rejected, all will face
Elijah

CONDITIONED FOR COMMUNISM

On Thursday, January 10, 1963, Florida Congressman A. S. Herlong, Jr., stood on the floor of
the U.S. House of Representatives and read a list
of 45 “Current Communist Goals”—an excerpt,
he said, from the book The Naked Communist.1
All of these goals are listed on page 17-18, but I
would like to comment on just a few of them:
Number 3: “Develop the illusion that total
disarmament by the United States would be a
demonstration of moral strength.” A simple
comparison of the size and support of our
armed forces now to what it was just 30 years
ago will show how the U.S. military has been
cut down again and again.
Number 26: "Present homosexuality, degeneracy, and promiscuity as ‘normal, natural,
healthy.’” The president of the United States
just appointed the first openly transgender
man who dresses as a woman to be a recruitment director in the White House.
Number 32: “Eliminate prayer or any phase
of religious expression in the schools on the
grounds that it violates the principle of ‘separation of church and state.’” This goal was met
more than 50 years ago. In 1962 and 1963, the
U.S. Supreme Court banned state-sponsored
prayer in schools.
I could go down the entire list of these communistic goals and show how each one has been
accomplished—completely or in part—inside of
one generation.
This infiltration of communistic ideals did not
happen overnight. The change happened
gradually—accelerating over the past 50 years

as America shifted from her capitalist foundation
to reach out for socialism and communitarianism,
only to find herself completely conditioned for
communism.
WHAT IS CAPITALISM, ANYWAY?
Webster’s dictionary defines capitalism as a way of
organizing an economy so that the things that are
used to make and transport products—land, oil,
factories, ships—are owned by individual people
and companies rather than by the government.
We see capitalism taught throughout the Bible,
beginning with the book of Genesis:
“And the LORD God took the man, and put him
into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep
it” (Gen. 2:15).
God planted the garden, but He gave man

the innovation, strength, and wisdom to work
it. For Christians, this is capitalism in its truest
form—believing in God’s provision while doing
the work at hand.
A WORD ABOUT WORK
In Proverbs, Chapter 14, Verse 23, we read, “In all
labor there is profit.” I believe that God expects
all those who are able-bodied to work.
Having said that, I completely understand that
some people—due to circumstances beyond
their control or because of sickness or disability—simply cannot work. We sympathize with
these precious people; they are the very ones our
government absolutely should help and assist.
But there are millions of Americans out there who
are capable of taking a job yet refuse to work.
Statistics show that of the 316 million people who
live in the United States, 46 million receive food
stamps. Think of that.
One news report claimed that the U.S. has more
people dependent on food stamps than the total
populations of Argentina, Columbia, Kenya, or
Ukraine. The same report said, “Households on
food stamps got an average benefit of $261.44
during the month, and total benefits for the month
cost taxpayers $5,978,320,593.”2
So, basically, those who are working support
those who either choose not to work or those
who cannot work.
This dependency on government lines up with the
communist agenda credited to Karl Marx.
His Manifesto of the Communist Party includes
Frederick Engels’ “Draft of a Communist Confession of Faith,” which is written in a question-andanswer format. One question reads, “What will
be your first measure once you have established
democracy?”
bartering, commerce, free enterprise, and trade.
Provisions were also made for the poor:
“And when ye reap the harvest of your land, thou
shalt not wholly reap the corners of thy field, neither shalt thou gather the gleanings of thy harvest.
And thou shalt not glean thy vineyard, neither shalt
thou gather every grape of thy vineyard; thou shalt
leave them for the poor and stranger: I am the
Lord your God” (Lev. 19:9-10).
Notice that the landowner did not gather the food
and hand it over to the poor. No, his part was to
leave some of the harvest—some of the work—for
the poor to do.
We see this “law of gleanings” carried out in the
Bible story of Boaz and Ruth:
“And when she was risen up to glean, Boaz commanded his young men, saying, Let her glean even
among the sheaves, and reproach her not: and
let fall also some of the handfuls of purpose for
her, and leave them, that she may glean them, and
rebuke her not. So she gleaned in the field until
evening, and beat out that she had gleaned: and
it was about an ephah of barley” (Ruth 2:15-17).
Gleaning barley is hard, physical work, yet we see
Ruth out there from morning until night doing
what she needed to do to feed herself and her
mother-in-law.
Nowhere in the Word of God will you find laziness
rewarded in any shape, form, or fashion. Instead,
you will find Scripture after Scripture condemning
slack hands and slothful living:

“He becomes poor that deals with a slack hand:
but the hand of the diligent makes rich” (Prov. 10:4).
The Marxist answer: “Guaranteeing the subsistence (amount of food, money needed to stay
alive) of the proletariat (lowest social or economic
class of a community).”3
WHAT DOES GOD SAY ABOUT WORK?
When the Lord established the nation of Israel, He
showed them how the nation was to be governed.
He set their economy in motion with instruction on

“The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the
slothful shall be under tribute” (Prov. 12:24).
“He also that is slothful in his work is brother to
him that is a great waster” (Prov. 18:9).
“The desire of the slothful kills him; for his hands
refuse to labor” (Prov. 21:25).
“But if any provide not for his own, and specially for
those of his own house, he hath denied the faith,
and is worse than an infidel” (I Tim. 5:8).
In America, we are guilty of rewarding laziness
with our welfare programs. People who won’t
work (but laugh) go out and buy their alcohol
and drugs with money for which we have worked
very hard and paid in taxes to the federal government. Then the federal government doles it out
to people with no accountability for the money
they receive. That’s a sin.
is coming from the United States of America. It’s
a patriotic feeling to see that huge ship and know
it’s from the United States of America. However,
as patriotic as that may look or feel, goods and
services are not this country’s greatest export.
As you’ve probably heard my husband say many
times, “As long as the gospel of Jesus Christ is
America’s greatest export, the jackbooted heels of
foreign invaders will never walk on American soil.”
Karl Marx may be the founder of communism,
but God the Father is the founder of capitalism,
and we must hold fast to God’s way as outlined
in His Word.
As Christians, we must continue to seek the face
of the Lord and pray—especially heading into this
most important election year—that America returns
to her roots as a capitalist and a Christian nation.
God had no welfare program for Israel. He made
no provision for people who were lazy. In Bible
times, people who refused to work were looked
down upon; they were outcasts of society, and
they didn’t exist for long.
God gives us the ability to work and expects us to
work to provide, not only to help meet the needs of
ourselves and our families, but also to have some
left over to give to others.
In Ephesians 4:28 we read: “Let him that stole steal
no more: but rather let him labor, working with his
hands the thing which is good, that he may have
to give to him that needs.”
Christians are instructed to give to the Lord. The
Bible shows Israel giving to build the tabernacle
so the presence of God could dwell among them.
Then we see the temple constructed, again so that
the people could experience the presence of the
Lord. Today we have the tithe, which helps support the place we worship the Lord and finances
the propagation of the gospel of the Lord Jesus
Christ.
America is a blessed nation because it has always
been a Christian nation, a nation built on a strong
work ethic—a capitalist nation. And it’s the capitalist countries, not the communist ones, that are
producing and have overflow.
I’ve been on the docks in foreign countries where
goods are shipped in—food, water, and medical
supplies—in response to something like a natural
disaster, and all the food that’s being brought in

and buildings, substitute shapeless,

obscenity by calling them "censorship" and a violation of free speech

of morality by promoting pornography and obscenit y in books,
magazines, motion pictures, radio,
and TV.

27. Infiltrate the churches and
replace revealed religion with
"social" religion. Discredit the
Bible and emphasize the need for
intellectual maturity, which does not
need a "religious crutch."

on the ground that it violates the
principle of "separation of church
and state."
29. Discredit the America Constitution by calling it inadequate, oldfashioned, out of step with modern
needs, a hindrance to cooperation
between nations on a worldwide
basis.
30. Discredit the American Founding Fathers. Present them as selfish
aristocrats who had no concern for
the "common man."
31. Belittle all forms of American
culture and discourage the teaching
of American history on the grounds
that it was only a minor part of the

to Russian history since the Communists took over.
32. Support any socialist movement
to give centralized control over any
part of the culture-education, social
agencies, welfare programs, mental
health clinics, etc.
33. Eliminate all laws or procedures
which interfere with the operation of
the Communist apparatus.
34. Eliminate the House Committee
on Un-American Activities.
35. Discredit and eventually dismantle the FBI.
36. Infiltrate and gain control of
more unions.
37. Infiltrate and gain control of big
business.
38. Transfer some of the powers of
arrest from the police to social agencies. Treat all behavioral problems
as psychiatric, which no one but psychiatrists can understand or treat.
39. Dominate the psychiatric profession and use mental health laws as
a means of gaining coercive control
over those who oppose Communist
goals.
40. Discredit the family as an institution. Encourage promiscuity and

Matthew 28: 18-20 – “And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power
is given unto Me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy
Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded
you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”

JESUS CAME AND SPOKE UNTO THEM
The words of Christ as given in Verses 18-20
would constitute some of the last words He would
speak before His ascension. Therefore what He
said should not be dismissed or ignored. That
which the Lord spoke in these verses is known as
the Great Commission (Mk. 16:15-18 would also
apply). This commission or command was to the
church, to take the gospel message to the world.
It is God’s desire that all men everywhere have an
opportunity to hear the gospel. We understand
that not all will accept it, but it is still the responsibility of the church to do what it can to propagate
the gospel of Jesus Christ.

found in Romans 10:13-15. Let me state it this
way: All should set aside “a handful on purpose”
in order to send those whom God has called.
PREACH TO ALL NATIONS
In Matthew 28:19 it says, “teach all nations.”
However a better translation would be “preach
to all nations.” In the Greek, the word teach is
matheteus and means to “make disciples.”
Preaching proclaims truth which makes disciples
while teaching explains truth which is what the
word teaching in Matthew 28:20 says. The Greek
word is didasko and means “to give instruction.”
every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and
things in earth, and things under the earth; and
that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ
is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
That name is Lord which means “master of all.”
The Lord Jesus Christ has all power, in heaven,
in earth, and under the earth. He has the power,
and He alone.
In Verses 19 and 20, we see the divine order of the
Holy Spirit as it regards world evangelism:
• The gospel is to be preached to the lost in order
to call attention to the truth of Jesus Christ and
His saving grace. • After conversion, they are to be taught which
means “to explain truth.” That which is to be
taught is the truth of the sacred text both Old and
New Testaments.

GO YOU THEREFORE
This statement applies to any and all who follow
the Lord Jesus Christ. In other words, you are the
“you” He is speaking of. You have been given
a commission by our Lord to help proclaim His
gospel around the world.
It is a privilege and an honor to know that the Lord
has made a place for us in His work. Now, most
of you reading this are not called into the five-fold
ministry callings, so you may wonder, What is my
part? What am I supposed to do?
Here are things that everyone can do:
• Pray. James 5:16 says “The effectual, fervent
prayer of a righteous man avails much.” Pray for
those whom God has called to proclaim His Word.
Pray for a greater anointing. Pray for wisdom and
guidance. Pray for a great harvest.
• Have faith. Matthew 18:19 says: “If two of you
shall agree on earth as touching anything that they
shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father
which is in heaven.”
• Give. Every Christian should set aside something over and above their tithe, to be given for
world evangelism. This biblical principle can be

GOD’S GREATEST GIFT TO THE CHURCH
It has been stated many times from behind our
pulpit that salvation is God’s greatest gift to the
world, and the baptism with the Holy Spirit with the
evidence of speaking with other tongues is God’s
greatest gift to the church. We are living in a day
when the preaching of the baptism with the Holy
Spirit is little taught or preached anymore from
behind our Pentecostal pulpits. To add further
damage to our congregants, most preachers will
not even allow the people to speak in tongues in
the actual service, which is a complete tragedy.
For most churches today, the Holy Spirit is on the
outside looking in, not allowed to have a place
in and among our churches. This means that the
church is a church without power, and as a result,
will little be able to do anything for the cause of
Christ. If the early church did not have the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, then those who had
been filled with the Holy Spirit would not have
been able to turn a world right side up for the
Lord Jesus Christ. I want to say unequivocally
that the early church was born in power, and if the
early church needed the power of the Holy Spirit,
where does that leave the modern church today?
OBEDIENCE TO THE COMMAND OF CHRIST
I want to take you back for a moment to the
beginning of the early church. As I have written
previously in past articles, the last words of Jesus
Christ on this planet before He ascended into
heaven were that His followers were to venture to
Jerusalem and wait for the promise of the Father,
which would be the baptism with the Holy Spirit.
This was not a mere suggestion, but rather a

command, which is still relevant today. Many did
not heed the command of Christ, just as many do
not heed that command today; however, some
did, and some do today. Those who obeyed the
command of Christ found themselves in the upper
room seeking the Father for something that they
did not quite understand. However many days
these individuals sought the Lord, I cannot say, but
what I do know is that day after day, these people
(whomever they may have been) came seeking
and asking that the Lord would fulfill His promise
that He made to them. They found themselves
in the temple courtyard, once again seeking the
Lord as to what He would give them and wanting
to draw closer to the Lord. All of a sudden, from
out of nowhere, something took place that forever
altered and changed for time and eternity the
course of the lives of these people.
WHAT IS TRUE UNITY?
Before I get into that, I want to draw your attention
to the fact that these people were in one place
and in one accord. This is extremely important,
and we must understand what is being said here.
The ones who were gathering during this time did
not have multiple mindsets or multiple views of
what should take place. Rather, they all had one
mindset, which was to seek the Lord for something that they did not quite understand. There
was a unity among them as they sought the Lord
for the promise of the Father. What was taking
place was what true unity is all about. The church
has a misunderstanding of what unity really is, for
they believe that to have unity, they need to be
in agreement with other religions and with other
faiths. In other words, they believe that they must
“go along to get along.”
That is not what true unity is. Unity is not meeting
with people from other faiths and trying to find
common ground, but rather true unity is a people
seeking the Lord for the same thing—to see a true
move of God take place and to see souls saved and
lives changed for time and eternity. There must
be one mindset of what we do and one message
at the heart of what we do—Jesus Christ and Him
crucified.
PRAYER IS VITAL TO A MOVE OF GOD
Prayer is a big key to this, for we see that these
people of whom Luke writes in the book of Acts
were praying. Without prayer, there will be no
real relationship with our heavenly Father, which
He truly desires to have with all of His children.
To be able to call upon God and know that He is
able to meet our needs, that He is all-powerful,
and that He is able to do more than what we can
even ask or think is beyond our understanding.
Knowing that we have the opportunity to seek
the Lord regarding a move of God in not only our
lives but in our church, as well, is truly a blessing
of which many fail to take advantage. Every day,
we as believers should take advantage of the time
that we have and take a few moments to seek the
Lord and believe Him for the impossible, for God
is a God of the impossibilities. This means that
He is able to move mountains. He is able to tear
down Jericho walls. He is able to part the Red Sea
or the Jordan River. He is able to make the sun
stand still. He is able to make a way where there
seems to be no way. He is able to open blinded
eyes. He is able to heal the sick. He is able to
raise the dead. He is able to provide money in the
mouth of a fish. He is able to do what we cannot
do for ourselves. Do you believe that? Do you
choose to believe that? I choose to believe that
God is able to do the impossible.

“I’M LOOKING FOR THE POSSIBLE”
A few years ago, someone was telling me a story
that was featuring a little girl with an extreme disfigurement, which would leave most with a negative view of themselves. She attended a school
for kids with physical impairments in a particular
state up north. A local television crew was sent
to follow her throughout the day. What was seen

by the local crew caused absolute dismay, for this little girl,
with her extreme disabilities, never once had a frown on her
face, but rather was beaming throughout the interview. The
host asked her about her difficulties and why she was able to
smile through those difficulties. The little girl’s response was
telling. She responded by saying, “I’m not looking for that
which is difficult, but I’m looking for that which is possible!”
As a believer, quit looking at the difficulties and start looking
to a God who is able to do the impossible! We sing a song
that is quite apropos for what has been said:
Got any rivers you think are uncrossable?
Got any mountains you can’t tunnel through?
God specializes in things thought impossible.
He’ll do for you what no other power can do!
Start believing that today and start claiming that God is able
to do for you what no other power can do. God is able to do
for you what you cannot do for yourself, and it makes no difference how difficult the situation may be—He is able!
Without prayer, there is no relationship, and there is no petitioning the Lord for His will. Prayer is vital to a true move of
God that we need in this nation and around the world. Those
individuals were gathering together on that day and praying
and seeking the Lord for His will. We should take a lesson from
the early church and establish a prayer life and believe God
to do great things within our lives and within our church.

For those of you who are not familiar with digital television, these are free “old fashioned TV channels” that are able to be picked up with a digital tuner and antenna. Most new
televisions are equipped with built-in digital tuners or you can purchase a tuner from your local electronics store (Best Buy®, Radio Shack®, etc.). As well, you can purchase
the proper antenna at your local electronics store. Many viewers under the broadcast signal of the television station can use a small, digital antenna inside the home. For those
on the outer edge of the signal or to receive the best signal, an outdoor antenna may be required. Both indoor and outdoor antennas are available for less than $50!

DEAR EVANGELIST: Dear Frances, I love your show and am so
thankful that I found SBN. Having grown up in Germany, I can
definitely concur with what was talked about today regarding
the school curriculum. Just today at breakfast with a friend,
we talked about how a country can totally influence the course
of their agenda (fascist/communist) by taking over the school
system and separating children from the influence of their
parents. In the 1930s in Germany, children were the absolute
property of the state and we all know what happened. Later,
in communist East Germany, the legacy continued just as in
Russia and China, etc. On another note, the churches have
deteriorated a great deal since the 1970s, when I first became
a Christian. Thank God for SBN.
BELIEVER WANTS TO KNOW WHAT CAN BE DONE
ABOUT IMMIGRATION
DEAR EVANGELIST: I am a teacher in the public school
system, and I am an immigrant, first-generation American from
Cuba. My parents both came here legally; I was just a baby at
the time. When did it become so politically incorrect to state,
“You must enter the country legally,” without being looked at
as a heartless monster? Sister Frances, I can totally visualize
these people not wanting to become “legal” because they are
receiving so many benefits now that otherwise they would not
be getting, as you have stated in one of your prior programs.
My question is, what can we do about this? I literally need
to make a conscious effort to not judge these people that
have an attitude of entitlement, but it’s very difficult when it’s
being thrown in your face daily. But on a happier note, these
children are so loving and beautiful, I am truly blessed that
the Lord has allowed me to have this career. I just wanted to
share this with you: that every morning our school begins the
day by reciting the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by singing
God Bless America. I know we are the exception and not the

The first most
definitive way of
gaining knowledge
is to become a
disciple of God’s
Word.
ACCORDING TO THE WORD OF GOD, growth
is to be normal for the Christian. In our natural
bodies, growth takes place almost automatically.
Providing that we eat the proper foods, get the
right amount of rest, and get a sufficient amount
of exercise, the growth process moves unhindered
as we move from being an infant to becoming a
mature adult.
In a way, our spiritual growth works pretty much
along the same lines. If we will take in and
digest the Word of God, properly discern it and
understand it, and then begin to apply it, spiritual growth will take place. If along the line of
growth any of these basics are withheld or not
experienced, spiritual growth can be stifled. Peter
exhorted believers to see to it that they continued
to grow both in knowledge and in grace. So let’s
take a look at the meaning of both expectations
and grasp a hold of how to accomplish this command given to us in the Word of God.
GROW IN KNOWLEDGE
The question begs to be asked, “How do we
grow in knowledge?” The answer comes back
to us noting several means. The first most definitive way of gaining knowledge is to become a
disciple of God’s Word. The one who wants his
life dominated by the Word must spend time in
it. Therefore, I am not attempting to earn my
growth through works, but I know that in order
to comprehend God’s truth, I must spend time in
the Bible every day. I must learn that all that God
says is a vital part of my growth. So I discipline
myself to read that Word everyday. The Bible
itself proclaims the value of knowing what is in it.
Paul would emphatically state that the believer is
to “study to show yourself approved unto God, a
workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly
dividing the Word of Truth” (II Tim. 2:15).
To understand God’s heart and to perceive what
God says is right versus what God says is wrong
requires spending time reading and studying
God’s Word. Not only do I need to read the Word,
but I must also position myself to hear it preached
and proclaimed by anointed men and women of
God. Oftentimes, a teacher is required to move
me from an old mindset to the new one that I need.
So, being around other Christians who know the
Bible and talking to them about the things I’m
learning helps to cement truths in my spirit. As
well, the Bible tells us that there is safety in the
multitude of counselors.
So I can grow in knowledge by the reading of the
Word, by studying the Word, by being in services
where the Word is preached, and by sharing my
faith with friends. However, if this is how one is
to grow in knowledge, what does it mean to grow
in grace?

GROW IN GRACE
This Christian experience is to be an
experience that models dependence
upon God. From the very first moment
when we exhibit simple faith in Jesus
Christ as our Lord and Saviour, we enter
into the process of grace and faith. To
be honest with you, this is the only
process by which God works with the
human race. We are asked to believe in
that which God has provided and as a
result, He freely gives us what we don’t
earn, labor for, or deserve. Grace can’t
be obtained through the performance
of religious rituals or religious exercises.
To say that this is so violates the very
definition of the word grace. Grace
is unmerited favor; it is the goodness
of God given to undeserving people;
and it is unmerited divine assistance in
both regeneration and sanctification.
Paul would equate grace in Galatians,
Chapter 3, as the effectual working of
the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer.
So, growing in grace would mean that
the believer continually becomes more
dependent upon God’s provision.
When I began, I trusted Him some. As
He proved faithful, I trusted Him more.
To experience growth in that which is
freely received, my faith has to be active
so that I achieve a level of dependence,
the like of which I have never reached
before. The more we mature in the
Lord, the more we depend upon His
grace to see us through. We are never
to arrive at the place where we think or
say that we are sufficient in and of ourselves to live this Christian experience.
As time goes by, we are to be growing
in our need for our Saviour and allowing His role in our lives to dominate us
more and more.
To grow in grace means that we ever are
increasing our understanding of what
Christ did for us at Calvary so that we
might ever be placing our faith in His
giving to us freely of all things. Do you
depend upon Him more today than you
ever have in your lifetime? Do you look
to Him to solve the problems of your
life? Do you look to Him to defeat the
sin and the weight that does so easily
beset you? If the answer to these questions and others like them is yes, then
perhaps you truly are a believer who is
growing in the grace and the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. May it
ever be so!

emphasis of this gathering will be on climate change. Representatives from around the world—including political, business,
and religious leaders—will cooperate together to preserve the earth and its inhabitants from the peril of destruction—caused
by climate change?

The UN was birthed out of the concept that the
nations of the world could cooperate together
and create a framework for just peace. Within
this organization lies the panacea to war that has
plagued the world from time immemorial: The
Secretary-General as the guardian of peace; the
Security Council as the enforcer of peace; and the
General Assembly as the keeper of peace.
In order to create this utopia, there must be a
universal structure that can receive and then redistribute the resources and make the rules to
sustain mankind. An organization that can supply
the economic foundations of peace; financing
the structure of peace; and be the pioneer for a
new age!
One would think that such lof ty goals and
ambitions would not be from a pragmatist but

back and see the foundation laid by an eclectic
mix of socialist visionaries, secret societies, new
agers, all of them well financed by globalists and
their tax-exempt foundations. They all share the
elites’ common goals of gaining ultimate control—
control of everything!
They “window dress” their appearance in democracy, but they have specific goals and standards that
all must comply. To gain acceptance, they use the
strategy of “gradualism.” They creep in, “under the
radar,” as Rick Warren would say, to infiltrate and
“mold minds, undermine sovereignty, establish
social solidarity and train a mobile workforce though:
• The redistribution of human and financial
resources (through migration, a global economy,
and a global welfare system.)
• A uniform worldwide education system that
would standardize both social learning and work

skills everywhere.
• Control of the mainstream media and
other propaganda channels.
• A supportive civil society (including
business, community groups, the news
and entertainment media, churches,
etc.) prepared to lead the masses
toward cultural and religious synthesis.
The Sustainable Development Agenda
30 meeting will use one of the world’s
most visible religious leaders to promote the agenda, the Roman Catholic
pope. One hundred and ninety-three
national leaders will be asked to promote the agenda when they go home.
We can all expect a massive promotional
campaign to combat climate change.
While in Alaska recently, President
Obama said, “The issue of whether
human activity is changing the climate is
settled. So let me sum up: We know that
human activity is changing the climate.
That is beyond dispute. Everything else
is politics if people are denying the facts
of climate change…we cannot deny the
science. We also know the devastating
consequences of the current trend lines
continue.” The apocalyptic conclusions
by President Obama and the UN will
gain success by them using religious
leaders to join this new mantra.
SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT—
TRANSFORMATIVE GLOBAL
AGENDA
The war against national sovereignty
has begun. The UN is calling for a
massive propaganda campaign at all
levels to bring its transformative global
agenda into being. Its new slogan:
“Leave No One Behind.”
The preamble of the Agenda 30 document says:
“All countries and all stakeholders,
acting in collaborative partnership, will
implement this plan. We are resolved to
free the human race from the tyranny of
poverty and want to heal and secure our
planet. We are determined to take the
bold and transformative steps which are
urgently needed to shift the world onto
a sustainable and resilient path. As
we embark this collective journey, we
pledge that no one will be left behind.”
It may be science to some people but
to others it’s science fiction. The reality
is this: the efforts of many to control
their destinies without God is nothing
new. The Tower of Babel was man’s first
organized rebellion against God. It was
there that man wanted to make a name
for himself. God scattered many and
confused them with different languages
so many would not become their own
god and ultimately separate themselves
from the true and living God.
The lie that Satan told to Adam and
Eve—that they would be like God if they
disobeyed God—still has wings and
circles the earth. It is flying delegates
in from 193 nations around the globe
to come together again to make a name
for them.

NO LONGER TOSSED TO AND FRO

THE APOSTLE PAUL presented a vivid picture of the effects of false doctrine in Ephesians, Chapter 4.
Imagine children in a boat assaulted by tempestuous waves, determined to overturn the boat and
cause those who were trembling inside the boat to perish in a watery grave. Paul used this analogy
to describe those being tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine. It also
describes those today who choose to disregard God’s Holy Word. God’s desire is that His church
should no longer be tossed to and fro.
GOD’S PROVISION FOR HIS CHURCH
“And He gave some, apostles; and some
prophets; and some, evangelists; and
some, pastors and teachers, for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the
ministry, for the edifying of the body of
Christ: till we all come in the unity of the
faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of
God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ:
that we henceforth be no more children,
tossed to and fro, and carried about with
every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of
men, and cunning craftiness, whereby
they lie in wait to deceive” (Eph. 4:11-14).
In these verses we see that God made provisions for the church’s ongoing process
of edification and perfection. When the
fivefold ministry is properly working in the
body of Christ through the working of the
Holy Spirit, the result is spiritual growth.
THE FRUIT OF TRUE MINISTRY
When the ministerial gifts are properly
operating in the church, then the saint
of God will be seen in a constant state of
maturing. Members will draw closer to
God. They will love His Word more. The
fruit of the Spirit will manifest in them.
They will play an active part in reaching
the world with the Message of the Cross,
and they will not walk in error.
FALSE PREACHERS
However, that will not be the case when
preachers disregard God’s Word. You
see, God promises to bless His Word, not
man’s word. Most preachers today have
abandoned God’s Word and preach a
feel-good gospel. No longer is the Scripture their source for “sermons” but instead
they seek humanistic stories meant to
encourage the people to feel good about
themselves. When the church deviates
from God’s Word, then saints cannot grow
spiritually. Their spirits will not be edified.
They will find themselves in tumultuous
waters. Sad to say, there is no shortage
of false apostles, false evangelists, false
prophets, false pastors, and false teachers
who refuse to make sure that their ministry
lines up to God’s Word!
HERE COME THE WAVES
Unless the Bible is a believer’s foundation, they will be tossed to and fro, carried about with every wind of doctrine.
Doctrine will be accepted or rejected
based solely on whether you feel it’s right
or not. In reality, you’ll end up following
the crowd. The majority isn’t always
right. Without God’s Word to evaluate
the newest movements, you will do what
pleases the flesh. The waves will come
and beat against your boat. You will be
tossed to and fro as children not discerning between right and wrong. But that
shouldn’t be the case.
TEACH MY PEOPLE
Ezekiel prophetically talked about a time
when those in false doctrines would be
taught to discern between God’s will and
man’s false ways.
“And they shall teach my people the difference between the holy and profane,
and cause them to discern between the
unclean and the clean” (Ezekiel 44:23).
Those genuinely operating in true ministry will teach God’s people to discern
between the holy and the profane. Then
the church will no longer be tossed to and
fro by the newest fad or the newest revelation that goes contrary to God’s Word.
Let’s fall in love again with His Word.
