The Food and Beverage Department has been very busy this season planning
and executing events for the enjoyment of our Residents. We have had a very
successful season so far, and we highly anticipate ending this season with a
“Bang”.
March 27th we will be having our Easter Grande Buffet in the Main Dining
Room, with lots of delicious items offered by our culinary team. Reservations
can be made by calling 731-4545. Tables are filling up fast, so I would suggest
calling quickly if you would like attend.
We will also be hosting our Season Finale Party on April 2. This will take
place in the Grand Ballroom. The theme of the finale is “Casino Night”. Chef
Will has prepared a wonderful menu for you enjoy while you test your skills at
Casino games like Blackjack, Craps, Roulette and Slots, all of this while listening
and dancing to the sounds of Tat2. Tickets are on sale in the Administration
Office. Last year all of the attendees had a wonderful time and we anticipate
this event being even more fun as we have added a slight of hand magician and
beautiful showgirls. Also on the horizon is our “Summer Poolside Luau”,
“Christmas in July”, and our “Summer Cooking Class”. Be on the lookout for
more information on these fun and exciting events.
Weddings are a great source of revenue and exposure for us here at Herons
Glen. In September we began advertising on weddingwire.com, which is the
leading website that Brides and Grooms use to look for Wedding venues and
other vendors for their special day. That advertising has produced many leads
and a few bookings so far. We had two weddings in February and we currently
have 7 more weddings booked this year, and we look to have many more
booking for the 2016-2017 year. I was contacted by a television show called
“Out and About SW Florida” about our wedding program here at the Glen.
They are having a show dedicated to weddings in SW Florida. They filmed a
video shoot that will be included in their show on March 20. The show is
scheduled to run from 11:30 AM to 12:00PM on ABC7. We are sure that this
will increase the exposure and visibility of Herons Glen as a premier venue for
both Weddings and outside events in our community.
