Well Theatre; A Terrible Beauty at the Hyde Bridge Gallery in
association with Hamilton Gallery; and as part of this year’s
A Country Under Wave, a production of The Cat & the Moon

Jack B Yeats
Painted Universe
From political works executed in the 1920s to the great
masterpieces of the late 1940s, this exhibition weaves its way
through the dominant concerns of Jack Yeats’ artistic practice.
When viewed together with A Broadside one can trace the
beginnings of the characters that captivate the artist throughout
his working life – the sailor, the clown, the pirate, the outlaw and
the wayfarer.

Elizabeth Price
The Model is delighted to present an exhibition with Turner Prizewinning artist Elizabeth Price in her first Irish solo show. Price uses
high-definition digital video, with live action, motion graphics, 3D
computer animation and sound to interrogate and map the value and
meaning of cultural artefacts, collections and archives. Price's
exhibition at The Model will include her Turner Prize-winning work
The Woolworth's Choir, as well as User Group Disco, 2009 and her
latest work K, 2015 - none of which have been shown in Ireland
previously. Also on view will be two site-specific wall drawings
created especially for this exhibition.

Legacy
National Fine Art Print Exhibition
Naomi Draper and Mark Garry involve elements of nature in their
work in a variety of ways - making works that are measured and
quiet, often requiring meticulous systems of construction. Both
artists integrate craft techniques as a means to explore our
associative connection with the natural world. This collection of
sculptures and two-dimensional works subtly questions the fragility
of the relationship between humans and nature, and the poetic
potential of plants.

Invited Artists
A Terrible Beauty
Hamilton Gallery invited Ireland’s
leading contemporary artists to
create an image 20cm x 20cm
inspired by WB Yeats’ poem Easter,
1916. The exhibition A Terrible
Beauty is Born features the work of
over 70 visual artists. It is a
dynamic, provocative and
comprehensive response, 100 years
on, by the shapers of our
contemporary visual arts culture to
the events of 1916, with WB Yeats'
iconic Easter, 1916 poem used as a
springboard.

Sleeping Venus
and other New Works
The work presented is the fruit of an engagement,
a hands-on wrestle, in my studio with printmaking,
sculpture - in some cases unfinished sculpture - as
well as paintings. As a result this exhibition entails
a cross-referencing of these to present a dynamic
visual conversation that produces closely related
but distinct works in different mediums. This may
include working drawings, prints, maquettes, a
large work in progress etc. This trilingual approach
is my means of production and is an absolute
necessity in my pursuit of finding completion.

Hawk’s Well Theatre
A Cuala Songbook
& Daughters of Emer
on this very special night we celebrate the historic
lifespan of Sligo’s local theatre. opened in January
1982, the idea of a theatre for Sligo was initiated by a
group of local drama enthusiasts and thirty-four years
later the theatre still stands tall. Hosting over 50,000
visitors each year, and with over 2,000 local people
treading its boards annually, this July a selection of its
favourite performers and closest friends gather to pay
due tribute to the much-loved Sligo theatre. Featuring;
Eamon Morrissey, Michael Harding, Sandy Kelly,
Cathy Jordan, Brian Leyden, Kieran Quinn
and many more.
A delightful double bill of locally connected theatre based on the
lives of Susan and Elizabeth Yeats, Lily and Lolly.
Celebration Night
Hosted by actor Pauline McLynn, proceeds
from the night will go to the theatre’s
renovation fund to ensure this vital
resource for future generations.
18
A Cuala Songbook,
performed by
Darina Gallagher
and Sinead Murphy,
is set in the Cuala
Press and explores
the poetry and
plays the sisters
publish for their
brother Willie.
Daughters of Emer
is a warm and
humorous play
about Lily and Lolly.
Written and
directed by John
Carty, it is
performed by orla
McSharry and
Margaret Kilcoyne.

Tommy Emmanuel
Two-time Grammy nominee, Tommy
Emmanuel is one of Australia’s most
respected musicians. The legendary
guitarist has a professional career
that spans five decades. Rather than
using a whole band for melody,
rhythm, bass, and drum parts, Tommy
plays all that – and more – on one
guitar. He has been voted Favourite
Acoustic Guitarist in both Guitar
Player Magazine and Acoustic Guitar
Magazine’s reader polls, and is a
YouTube sensation. His videos have
over 29,000,000 views and have led to
sold out shows all over the
