I (Fr. Bob) attended the 45th Anniversary Conference for Catholic Charismatic Renewal in Philadelphia on
June 1-3. It got me excited for the National Conference in San Antonio in November! Here are some dates
and opportunities in the coming 6 months to keep in mind and mark on your calendars:
50 Years of the
Catholic
Charismatic Renewal
1) Baptism in the Holy Spirit: A new book from the International Office for Charismatic Renewal in Rome
is now available in our bookstore for $9.95. This is the most important book coming from Charismatic Renewal in many years. It will help all of us to understand the call and grace of charismatic renewal better.
It is a great book to give to your pastor to help them understand charismatic renewal.
2013: Year of Spirit-Filled Faith. We will:
 Celebrate the Year of Faith in the Church and
baptism in the Holy Spirit.
 Emphasize the experience of Pentecost and the
grace of Charismatic Renewal.
 Reach out to youth and young adults.
2) Night of Renewal on August 18 at Our Lady of Guadalupe in Helotes. See the advertisement in this
newsletter. Helotes is just a mile past 1604 at Bandera Rd.
3) Fall Teaching Series (Saturdays, September 29, October 6, November 17 from 10 am -12:30 pm at
CCCR) on the theme, “This is the Time of Fulfillment”. We will come to understand how we can experience
the kingdom of God in our midst. We will remove barriers through repentance and reconciliation. We will
learn to believe more deeply in the Good News of Jesus Christ. The sessions will incorporate Pope Benedict’s call to a Year of Faith.
4) National Catholic Charismatic Renewal Conference, “Receive the Holy Spirit, Proclaim the Gospel, Live
Out the New Evangelization” at the San Antonio Airport Hilton Hotel, November 2-4, 2012. Contact CCCR
for more information or the National Office at www.nsc-chariscenter.org or call 1-800-338-2445 to register. Archbishop Gustavo will be celebrating the Saturday Mass. On Saturday there will be a special Spanish speaking track and a Young Adult track. There is also an afternoon for priests and deacons on Friday,
November 2. This conference will only be in San Antonio every 10-15 years so do not miss it. Please get
the word out to your prayer group and organize ways that people can come with each other.
5) Washing of the Hands Mass and Social (Saturday, December 1, 2012 at St. Henry and CCCR at 10:00
am.).
6) Conference Kickoff Mass and Brunch (Saturday, January 26, 2013 at St. Mary Magdalen Church and
Hall): Mass at 10:00 am and Brunch at 11:30 am.
7) Spiritual Renewal Conference sponsored by CCCR (March 1-2, 2013 at St. Mary Magdalen Church on
the theme “Faith on Fire”. We have confirmed Fr. Cedric Pisegna, C. P. as one of the speakers for the English track. See Fr. Cedric’s television show, “Live With Passion” on San Antonio cable channel 15 (CTSA)
on Tuesdays at 5:30 pm, Wednesdays at 10 am and Fridays at 9 pm. You can also find his show on
www.churchchannel.tv or watch any time at itbn.org/frcedric.
8) Spring Teaching Series (April 6, April 20, May 4, 2013): We will be studying and applying the new book
on “Baptism in the Holy Spirit”.
Let us pray and come together so that 2012-13 will be a time of grace in the Archdiocese of San Antonio!
2012: Time of Life-Giving Repentance
(June 1 to December 31). We will:
 Begin this time with repentance and prayer.
 Imitate Pope John Paul’s Year of Repentance in
preparation for the year 2000.
 Encourage a time of reflection and dialogue in the
Renewal, and with the Church, preparing for the
Year of Faith.
 Follow Jesus' command: “This is the time of fulfillment. The kingdom of God is at hand. Repent
and believe in the gospel.” (Mark 1:15)
Renewal Maturity
2014: Year of Charisms and Grace for the Church.
We will:
 Explore Charismatic Renewal’s identity as a movement.


In response to the challenge the
Lord gave us at the 40th Anniversary Conference in 2007 and in
union with
International Catholic
Charismatic Renewal Services we
propose a 5-year preparation for
the 50th Anniversary Jubilee of the
Catholic Charismatic Renewal in
2017. The National Leaderships
Groups for the Renewal are
promoting the following plan for
the years 2012 to 2017.
Celebrate being fully Catholic (ecclesial maturity)
and fully charismatic.
Promote greater and more mature use of the charisms.
2015: Year of Unity. We will:
 Reach out to all groups influenced by charismatic
renewal.
 Endeavor to lay down our lives for each other.
 Foster unity in the Renewal, unity with the
Church, and ecumenism.
 Focus on the importance of community.
Renewal Influence
2016: Year of Mission. We will:
 Renew our zeal for souls.
 Promote Life in the Spirit Seminars, the New
Evangelization, and a culture of Pentecost.
2017: Year of Jubilee. We will:
 Celebrate a “time of fulfillment” as in the Jubilee
Year of the Scriptures.
 Gather all people in the Renewal (prayer groups,
covenant communities, ministries, youth, and families) of all cultures.

Donations for
New Statue
As many of you know,
our statue of Jesus
located outside in front of our CCCR
building, was vandalized back in May. A
new statue will cost us $550 and this
does not include masonry work to repair
the base. So far, we have received a
total of $365 in donations towards a new
statue. We would greatly appreciate your
support in helping us fund the additional
monies needed or if you can help with
the masonry work needed to repair the
existing base, please call our
CCCR office at 210-226-7545.
Thank you and God Bless!
A special thank you to those individuals
who sent donations immediately upon
hearing of our broken statue.

Resurrection of the Lord
Fr. Cedric was touched by the grace of God when he was 19 years old. He surrendered his life to Jesus and had a life
changing experience. He was filled with the Holy Spirit and began to have a desire to make a difference in people's
lives. Since that time he dedicated his life to God as a Passionist religious and Catholic priest. Fr. Cedric resides at
Holy Name Retreat Center, Houston, TX. www.passionist.org/holyname He now travels across the U.S. and Canada
preaching, writing, and producing for television. His message is practical, inspirational, and orthodox.
Fr. Cedric is the author of 16 books: Live Passionately! Glorious Holy Spirit, Thy Kingdom Come! You Can Change,
Death: The Final Surrender, Come Encounter Jesus, Golf and God, Eucharist: A Living Sacrifice, God's Not Boring!, A
Retreat with Fr. Cedric, He Touched Me, You Can Be Happy, Kept in Christ, Seasons of Life, The Sacred Walk and
Choose Life and Live!, including numerous C.D.'s and D.V.D.'s about Christian Living. Father Cedric also produces
“Live with Passion” television program (since 2006) which airs nationally and internationally on the Church Channel.
(www.churchchannel.tv). For further information on Fr. Cedric, please go to his website: www.frcedric.org.
Conference Kick-off Mass and Brunch: The traditional Kick-off Breakfast, a CCCR community favorite and the Bilingual
Consecration Mass for all ministries held earlier this year have been combined for 2013 and these two events will now
be known as the “Conference Kick-off Mass and Brunch.” The event will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2013. The
event will begin at 10am and end around 1pm. Further details are forthcoming.
Conference Volunteers: The following leadership volunteer positions are currently vacant and the CCCR is looking for
men and women who desire to serve God and be a part of His 2013 CCCR Conference Team in order to make this conference a “break through” conference that will set the standard for all conferences to come. Volunteer job descriptions are now available for each of these positions; if you are interested, please call Mary Esther Lopez, 2013 Conference Coordinator at (210) 687-4849.
