From the Desk at T Bar...
Within each and every one of us, there is a desire to win and be
rewarded financially for our efforts. In this era of the livestock
industry, those who have risked are now being rewarded and the
current restocking cycle will, no doubt, maintain these record prices.
When it comes to winning, we must look at facts to achieve our
dreams. Selection of competitive seed stock must be sourced
from breeding establishments which have an actual winning track
record. “In It To Win It” blends the most competitive and successful
Eastern Canadian Angus operations offering “cutting edge” genetics for an exciting era which
lies ahead.
Facts....since the inception of “In It To Win It,” your hosts have been Premier Exhibitor (2013
& 2014) at the Royal Winter Fair in addition to being Premier Breeder in ‘13. At the Royal
Winter Fair last fall, consignors to this event captured nine divisional titles including Grand and
Supreme Champion Female in addition to Grand Champion bull.
2015 offers one of the featured lineups in the nation! Whether you are looking for a show
prospect, herd sire prospect or a front pasture foundation female,
“the competitive, marketable kind” await you on
October 10th. Don’t be afraid to check your pastures...
salvage the old and feeble and add young, fresh
genetics that will add value to your program.
Sale Management..
Plan to be with us at Gilchrist Farms for one of our
nation’s featured Angus seed stock sales. If we, at T
Bar C, may be of any assistance prior to or sale day,
do not hesitate to give us a call.
See you in Lucknow and be in it to win!

This female is a direct daughter of one of the first females we purchased as we began to grow our purebred Angus
herd. The dam was Reserve Grand Champion female as a two year old for Hasson Cattle Co. at the Brampton
Preview show in 2007. Xcellence 11X carries on the same qualities; Udder quality, femininity and ability to raise a
stout heavy attractive calf, that her mother does each and every year. Her dam at 10 years of age is currently raising
our heaviest bull calf which leads me to believe her longevity runs deep.
AI bred to South Dakota on May 6, 2015. Exposed to C&C McIntosh 2038 on May 6, 2015.
Gilchrist Farms will pay for DNA testing of the calf.

We have all heard the saying “the proof is in the pudding”
take a look here; 110C is the kind of female we are
consistently trying to raise and offer for sale to our customers.
She’s stout, functional, and feminine all in the same package.
She is sired by the NWSS Denver champion and backed by
multiple generations of females that have stood the test of
time and proven themselves worthy by what they produce!
Retaining the right to one successful flush at our expense.

This moderately designed female is very correct in her lines, ultra-long fronted and long spined giving her the
capacity to put length and pounds into her progeny. With commercial prices as high as they are, we need to have
functional cattle capable of producing heavy calves to weigh down the scale.

Here is a female that blurs the lines between show cattle and high indexing high performing cattle in the
commercial world. If I could find 100 like her, breeding cattle wouldn’t be a challenge, it would become as second
nature as taking a breath of air. At just 3 years of age she is one of the most attractive females in the herd with an
outstanding udder, top ranking EPDs, and a pedigree that’s rock solid. What more could you ask for??? Oh right
she has to be able to produce an equal or better calf.

It’s hard to come by a direct daughter of Saugahatchee for two reasons. One there was very little semen that came
to Canada on this bull and two his daughters are phenotypically some of the best cattle in the business. For an

has a well known sire but she too has proven herself by raising four bull calves that have all been high performing
highly marketable individuals. This past spring her son sold through our bull sale weighing 1400lbs and 40cm SC.

With the price of cattle today it is crucial that we use bulls
that can add the extra pounds and performance to a calf
crop. GF Harvestor 22C is one of those individuals. 22C
ranks in the top % for WW and YW. By adding just 25 lbs
(the difference of an AVG Angus bull to that of 22C’s EPDs)
at $3.50/lbs this fall turns into a lot of increased profit just by
selecting a high performing bull over an AVG bull.

Paradise Farms
Welcome Fellow Angus Breeders!
On behalf of everyone at Paradise Farms, we extend an invitation to each of you to join us Friday, October 9th and
Saturday, October 10th for this year’s In It To Win It Sale, hosted by Gilchrist Farms. We are more excited than ever
about the Angus business and are once again offering the best bred heifers that we own in this year’s event.
A little bit about our operation…Paradise Farms consists of 300 acres, 45 minutes north of Toronto in Caledon,
Ontario. The Paradise Herd began in 2008 with the purchase of five cows. We have quickly expanded to today at
125 purebred Angus Cows. Our selection criteria are very critical for strong maternal and paternal characteristics,
good feet and legs, from strong pedigrees. We are very involved in the industry and are AI breeding to industry
leaders. We are as critical when we consign females and bulls to sales. Repeat customers are what we strive for.
We currently finish approximately 1200 head a year, supplying our meat products to several high end restaurants in
Toronto, as well as our own three restaurants, Paradise Farms Prime Beef Bistro. We currently have two meat stores
open: one in north Toronto and one in Erin.
Thank you to the Gilchrist Family for allowing us to participate in this great sale again this year.
Sincerely
Rob Hasson

This January yearling female offers some of the top genetic investment opportunities of this sale offering. This
beautifully designed female has the same look as her dam with regard to a beautiful neck, combined with worlds of
rib and a stout hind leg. She is a maternal sister to PFLC Pure Pride 070A who sold in the 2013 In It To Win It Sale
to Doug and Rob Marriott.
Dam Whitestone Pure Pride Z182 is royally-bred from the mating of the $160,000 Pathfinder Sire Leachman Right
Time with the $40,000 Trowbridge Pure Pride 610 who was a foundation donor in the Whitestone program. Her
grand dam won the ROV Grand Champion Cow title at the American Royal and is a full sister to BC Matrix 4132.
Pure Pride 16B is sired by Connealy Final Solution 9449. Final Solution is known to be a proven calving ease sire.
His sons were one of the high selling sire groups at Connealy Angus. Daughters won major shows across the
country. His pedigree is stacked with proven calving ease sires. He gives you a great outcross pedigree for the In
Focus lines of cattle. He was one of the highest bulls for ribeye area in his contemporary group and currently ranks
at the top of the breed for REA EPD. Final Solution sons topped sales across the country in 2014. Final Solution
9449 is one of the rising stars in the Angus breed. He has been used extensively in the Connealy and Cherry Knoll
herds. Final Solution is the calving ease sire who will give you the “look” you’ve been searching for.

This January yearling female offers great femininity, medium framed, level topped, nice straight lines and is out of
the great Express Upshot bull.
Blackbird 74B’s dam is CF Blackbird 1231 S that we selected in the 2010 49th Parallel Partners in Genetics Sale.
CF Blackbird 1231S is one of those hard working, easy doing cows that every breeder would love to have a paddock
full of. Her progeny production record was BWR 1@99, WWR 1@102, YWR 1@103, RE 1@107. She is top 10%
Calving Ease Maternal and top 20% Milk and CED.
PFLC Blackbird 74B is sired by EXAR Upshot 0562B. UPSHOT has transitioned from a crowd favorite at the 2011
National Western to a preferred and proven performance sire. Arguably one of the stoutest, most attractive high
Beef Value bull in the business. He has incredible power, phenotype, docility and red meat yield in one package.
Few bulls have ever sired the Denver Champion Carload and Pen of Three Bulls in the same year which Upshot
accomplish in 2011 - find another that’s done it with his very first calf crop!
Unique high $B with no Objective or Precision in his pedigree. The hottest bull in the yards at 2011 National

PFLC Ellie 10B is another real nice January yearling female. She is real deep bodied, soggy, square from her hooks to her
pins with a real nice shoulder.
Her dam’s pedigree is stacked with maternal power and proven genetics. Her dam Clair Lane Ellie 1Z was our pick of
the 2012 In It To Win It Sale from Clair Lane Stock Farm. She is stout and deep flanked with a great spring of rib. She
is clean fronted, walks on a good set of feet and legs. Her dam is a moderate framed Density cow bred by Hasson
Livestock. Her great granddam is Top Line Ellie 0637 which Hasson Livestock purchased in 2007 and was Division
Champion at the 2007 Illinois Angus Futurity and was also the 2007 Royal Agricultural Winter Fair Reserve Champion
Intermediate Yearling. Her maternal sister was a Division Champion in Denver the following year and sold for $20,000 for
half interest.
Ellie 10B’s sire is Connealy Right Answer 746. Right Answer is one of the breed’s most heavily used calving ease bulls
because of tremendous customer satisfaction. He sires easy calving, high performance cattle with quiet attitudes, which
make outstanding replacement females. A Final Answer son that will
add a bit more frame than his sire. Right Answer was the lead-off
yearling bull and a very popular bull at the 2008 Connealy Angus Sale.
Right Answer is a true calving ease bull and was bred to a great many
heifers at TC Ranch and at Connealy Angus Ranch where he proved
to be a true calving ease sire. Right Answer is deep ribbed and easy
fleshing. Right Answer ranks in the top 5% CED, 15% BW, 5% WW,

17 sons in the 2011 TC Ranch Production Sale averaged $10,450
including a sale topper of $66,660. Right Answer’s daughters have
proven themselves to be great producers with tremendous femininity
and exceptional udder quality.

Vermilion Dateline 7078 and RITO 9FB3 OF 5H11 FULLBACK to back them up! We consigned a maternal sister
in the 2014 In It To Win It Sale.
Peg 155B’s is sired by Connealy Final Product. He is a highly proven cow maker. He offers high customer
satisfaction progeny due to their superior birth-to-yearling spread and impressive phenotype, unique low birth weight
sire with outstanding structure, thickness and muscle shape. He has developed a super maternal reputation,
with highly productive daughters and top 1% $W Index. Final Product is a high accuracy sire that is a proven Sire
Alliance leader for performance, feed efficiency and maternal value. He adds showring appeal to your calf crop.
Reports on his progeny have been impressive, as these cattle are packed full of look and functionality. Calving ease

Clair Lane Forever Lady 2X’s sire, S A V Masterpiece 5289 carries the reliable maternal genetics of 004 and 5175.
This is obvious in her abundant amount of milk and capability of birthing twins and rebreeding on her first heat, and
then maintaining her condition and yielding 1325 lbs. of calf while they are only 6 months old.
She is one of our best producing cows and a real money maker.

Get on board with this female, because she’s gonna be a definite sale feature this year!! Our best offering to date.
She is beautiful, elegant, and classy. She comes from a cow family that we believe in.
Do your homework on this female, study her dam’s side, and find out just how productive, fertile, and worthy these
Ellies are.
Her dam is RHL Ellie 1W, she has had six natural calves to date, and all of them have been heifers. All of these
heifers are in production. We have three of them at home, and the rest are at Wingrove Cattle Co., Paradise Farms,
and at Ian Mills. We have a maternal sister that is in our show string this year. Another maternal sister is the dam of
lot #31 in this sale, PFLC Ellie 10B.
Look at this female’s width of hooks, spring of rib, and how nicely that all blends into her shoulder and head
carriage. She is hard to let go just on her own merit, never mind the most intriguing part of this lot... she is carrying
a comfirmed heifer calf by GQ!
Unfortunately her calf was born
dead this year.

Well the Queen 1R donor has done it again! If you’re looking for a competitive show heifer, this one will compete.
Queen 1502 is only the second female to sell after five successful flushes on her dam. This heifer is well balanced,
she has great legs, and extreme thickness. She’s clean fronted , flashy, and wide muzzled. She has the look and a
killer profile. She will go on to be a nice cow after what looks to be an exciting show career ahead.
Her dam, Hawthorne Queen 1R has been a very reliable donor cow, averaging 10 freezable eggs on five flushes.
She is still beautiful and productive 9 years after being crowned the Supreme Champion Female at the National
Junior Beef Heifer Show in 2006.
The show ring and banners run deep in this family. These Queens love to show, and know how to show. They are
angular, moderate framed, clean fronted, and extremely noteable. Get in on the upper floor with this one. She’s
from a proven family, both top side and bottom side. Clair Lane Queen 1502 comes from a family with a long list
of banners winners,
high dollar sellers, and
high selling embryo

It is tough for Graham and I to let this heifer calf go, but we want to offer our best in this sale. She comes from our
best producing cow, that has left us nothing but show bulls, and this is her first heifer calf and she is probably the
best we have ever had at this stage. Her sire, JL Carbon Copy 1407, has left us our best selection of females this

this family as we can.

We purchased this hard working dam from this very sale in 2012. Since then she has done an outstanding job
for us producing a daughter which we are retaining and looking forward to calving out this coming year. We were
very impressed with her first calf that sold through IN IT TO WIN IT in 2012 and went on to win numerous shows
throughout the summer of 2013 for Wade Graham. The breeding potential that is built into this female is very
impressive and with Lookout semen off the market these genetics are getting more marketable year after year.
Regardless of the sire that she is bred to, she always manages to bring in one of the top calves each year.

bone, body and balance and we have just scratched the surface on this donor female’s potential. This is a definite

Dam, Legend Lane Bardetta 824U was the Reserve Champion Junior Female at the 2008 Royal Agricultural Winter
Fair and Reserve Senior Champion Female to the Supreme Champion at the 2010 Royal Agricultural Winter Fair.
This powerful Bardetta family continues to produce deep, thick, functional females like this calf.
Premier Hasson Bardetta 504 is sired by SAV Brilliance 8077 is one of the most popular bulls in the industry. He
has high accuracy and double digit calving ease performance numbers which has driven repeat service by purebred
and commercial heifer breeders. With power, muscle shape and style, his progeny are ultra-competitive in the show
and sale rings. His strong maternal data, a proven cow family and pleasing maternal design are earning him a cow
