Welcome from M&J Farms...
Welcome to the 2015 annual M & J Farms bull sale. 2015 has a nice ring to it and as always we
look forward to the new calf crop and what they will contribute to the beef business. For more
than three quarters of a century, 4 generations of Glasmans have been involved in the purebred
cattle seedstock industry. Lots has changed over the years but the one thing that makes it keep
happening here is raising and developing bulls that the cattleman can buy and depend on to
generate a profit with their progeny.
Our offering this year is diverse in that there are lots of quality purebreds but we probably
have the largest offering of coming 2 year old hybrid bulls in this part of the Canada. The black
1/2 Angus Simmental bulls are outstanding. They are sired by Matt and Leanne’s senior black
Angus herdbull and they along with the MLG purebred black Angus bulls are an extremely
powerful group.
We pride ourselves in developing these bulls in a sustainable manner that will ensure their
longevity. So for us that is a March to April birthdate, no creep, grass as a long yearling and then
developed till sale time on a forage based silage ration. We try to raise bulls the way we would
like to buy them. This year we have added some bred heifers to the offering. We have some black
Simm Angus bred black Simmental as well as several pens of red Simmental and Simm cross
females bred Red Angus.

We welcome the entire team from T Bar C to the M & J sale barn. Please make yourself known to
Chris and Shane and use them to assist you in person or on the phone with your selection. We
invite you to come and see the bulls for yourself anytime before February 19th but if you can’t,
view their videos online on our websites. We would like to see you on sale day. Come to evaluate
the bulls adjacent to the sale barn then join us for a lunch and pie. If not possible to attend in

From the desk at T Bar...
Welcome to the 2015 edition of M & J Farms Bull Sale. As we recall the past year in the beef business, we will reflect on
the big upturn in our industry for beef and even more so for premium beef. As we look forward, most would anticipate as
high or even higher premiums being paid for those good cattle. Producers have waited for many years for this cycle to
come full circle from the early BSE days and be rewarded for their patience and their continued efforts in the beef industry.
M & J Farms has been known for putting out a high quality product for over 40 years. As you study the sale book, you
will see the consistency and quality throughout. This set of two-year-old virgin Simmental, Angus and Sim/Angus bulls
are truly a one of a kind product to sell this spring. The Glasman family strives to produce good structured, sound, well
balanced cattle that have tremendous phenotype and a balance of both proven and the freshest genetics available. Within
the group of future herd sires you see bulls that will add power and performance to ramp up your calf crop, in terms of
pounds at weaning time. There are highly maternal bloodlines for those customers that require genetics to strengthen
their cow herd and add solid replacement females to their programs. If a calving ease type bull is on your wish list they
have those as well. No matter what your needs are, you will find bulls that fit your requirements and cover a lot more
cows because of the extra age they have. This group has been developed specifically for longevity for their customers and
added value in purchasing and using a more grown out bull that won’t melt away after breeding season.
Buying a quality product is more crucial now than ever when trying to capitalize on a market that shows no sign of slowing down. Premiums will be paid
on the premium cattle. It’s no fluke that the Glasman program has been in the seedstock business for 40 plus years. They believe in putting forward a
quality product and standing behind that product. They believe that their customers’ success will continue to lead to their own success as well.

Jean Glasman...
Jean Glasman 1929-2014
It is with sadness that we share that our mom and grandmother Jean
Glasman, the original ‘J’ in M & J passed away in November. For
a girl born to Scottish immigrant parents at the start of the great
depression in southern Saskatchewan she lived a good and long life.
She enjoyed her family, friends and life on the farm. Marshall and
Jean got to see a fair part of the world but always considered Russell a
good place to live.She will be missed especially on sale day where she
could be found fussing over the lunch and making sure everyone got
fed and a piece of pie. At our past sales pies have been sold as a fund
raiser for the Palliative Care Sunroom at the Russell Health Centre.
The ‘pie ladies’ achieved their goal and the facility has a beautiful
sunroom which Jean made great use of in her last months. This year
the focus is now on an upgrade to the Russell Health Centre’s Cancer
Care unit. Your support for our community’s Cancer Care expansion
project is greatly appreciated.

Terms
The terms of the sale are cash or cheque, payable at par at the sale location.
The right of property shall not pass until after settlement has been made; no
invoicing on buyers in attendance, unless previous arrangements have been
made. Every animal sells to the highest bidder and in cases of disputes,
the auctioneer’s decision will be final. Current exchange rates will be
announced sale day. All monies are in Canadian funds.
Payment Options
Payment in full sale day will be the norm. If special arrangements are
needed please discuss with Miles Glasman prior to the sale.
Insurance
Will be available on sale day from Keystone Livestock Services. All bulls
staying at M&J Farms/Glasman Farms must be insured. We strongly
recommend that insurance is purchased for full value.
Delivery
Bulls will be kept until March 1, 2015 free of charge. After this date a $2/day
yardage fee will be payable. All bulls will be delivered by April 30th free of
charge unless special arrangements have been made at M&J Farms/Glasman
Farms convenience. Every effort will be made to get your bull to your farm,
however some long distances may dictate delivery to a central point.
Breeder’s Guarantee
All bulls will be semen tested prior to the sale. The bulls sold are sold with
a breeder’s guarantee. If problems arise please notify M&J Farms/Glasman
Farms immediately so the replacement or credit towards another bull can be
dealt with in a timely fashion, At no time will M&J Farms/Glasman Farms
be responsible for more than the purchase price.
Announcements
All announcements made from the auction block will take precedence over
the printed matter in the catalogue. Buyers are therefore cautioned to pay
close attention to such disclosures.
Exception Guarantee
In cases where the animal is subjected to any hormonal or surgical
reproduction techniques after the sale, this guarantee shall be null and void.
Liabilities
All persons attend the sale at their own risk. The seller, facility owner and
sale manager assume no liability, legal or otherwise, for any accidents
that occur. It is understood that T Bar C Cattle Co. Ltd. is acting only as
a medium between buyer and seller and is not responsible for any failure
on the part of either party to live up to his obligations. Neither does T Bar
C Cattle Co. Ltd. assume any financial obligations to collect or enforce
collection of any monies between parties and any legal action that may in
exceptional cases be taken must be between the buyer and the seller. T Bar
C Cattle Co. Ltd. assumes no responsibility for any credit extended by the
seller to the buyer. The buyer must look to the seller for fulfillment of all
guarantees and representations made hereunder.
Rights and Obligations
The above terms and conditions of the sale shall constitute a contract between
the buyer and seller and be equally binding to both. Resale of animals
following purchase in this sale shall constitute a separate transaction and the
rights and obligations of the two parties connected thereto are not covered by
the terms and conditions of this sale.
