How do I access the services?
There are a number of organisations in the
Hume Region providing early childhood
intervention services. GV Health/Community
Interlink is proud to be one of them.
Parents/Carers may refer their child to early
childhood intervention services through Central
Intake and Early Support.

Do you have a child (0-6yrs) with a
disability or developmental delay?
Early Childhood Intervention Services (ECIS) can assist.
How do I know if I’m eligible for Early
Childhood Intervention Services support?
Community Interlink will provide ECIS support within the
Hume region to a child from birth to school entry who
has either:
• a disability; or
• a developmental delay, which is the result of an
impairment and causes substantial functional
limitations and who requires a coordinated, long term,
multidisciplinary service response
What services may be available?
33 Information and advice to meet you and your child’s needs.
33 Support to help your child’s development.
33 Providing support to link you into other services.
33 Extra support for staff to increase your child’s
participation in kindergarten and child care centres.
33 Assisting with the move to school.
33 Support for parents.
33 Flexible support packages to ease some of the extra
financial pressures.
ECIS is a FREE service.
Community Interlink will:
33 Provide a Key Worker as your main contact person for
everything to do with ECIS.
33 Work closely with you to bring out your child’s best.
33 Provide you information about available services and
supports relevant to you and your child.
33 Help you organise your chosen services and supports.
33 Work together with staff, such as kindergarten
teachers, child care workers and maternal and child
health nurses.
33 Work together with health professionals such as
speech pathologists, occupational therapists and
physiotherapists who may visit you.
33 Help to implement strategies and recommendations
made by other specialists.
33 Provide clinical expertise to suit your child’s needs.
