All residents of the Office municipal d'habitation de Montréal may
become members of the FLOWER AND GARDEN CLUB : IT’S FREE!

GARDENING ADVICE
Home visit or phone call: a gardening advisor answers your questions.
GARDENING TRAINING
Offered on request to groups of 5 or more people. Here are the themes:
• Fundamentals of Urban Gardening
• Urban Agriculture 101
• Gardening with Insects
• Protecting Plants Against Pests, Diseases and Weeds
• The Hidden Face of Plants
• Indoor Plants (Needs and Maintenance)
GARDENING MATERIALS : orders must be placed before June 1. Quantities are limited.
For “balcony” members:
• Up to 3 bags of compost, topsoil or mulch, as you choose
• A small wooden planter for balconies (34" x 12" x 16")
For “land” members:
• Up to 25 bags per building (compost, topsoil, mulch)
• Plants: each building is entitled to a maximum quantity of plants. This quantity is calculated in points,
for a maximum of 100 points. See table and example below:

A gift cheque draw will be held in May. These cheques are valid for nursery purchases only. We thank our participating
nurseries: Angel Jardins, Frank Fleuriste, Mega Centre Montréal, Les serres Noël Wilson et fils, Pépinière Jasmin and Willy
Haeck et fils.
YOUTH PROGRAM
To encourage young people in greening, the Flower and Garden Club Youth Program offers financial assistance to
community organizations working with youth in low-rent housing to carry out their gardening projects. For more
information, contact your community organizer.
GUIDEED TOUR OF CIRCUIT JARDINS DE SENTIER URBAIN
We are delighted to offer you a tour of the gardens of Circuit Jardins de Sentier Urbain. For the tour, please note that:
• The Biodiversity and Pollinators garden is not wheelchair accessible;
• The activity is cancelled in case of heavy rain;
• It is recommended to bring a bottle of water.

Learn the role and structure of a flower, the function of
pollen and the importance of animals for pollination and
plant reproduction. The importance of pollinators for
humans and the threats to these animals are then
explained. We look at the possible solutions.

The members of the Flower and Garden Club are residents of lowrent housing operated by the Office municipal d'habitation de
Montréal (OMHM). For any information about the Club (how to
become a member, cancel your membership or other), you must
call the OMHM at 514-872-2016.
Sentier Urbain is the partner of the Flower and Garden Club. It
offers services to the members, such as gardening advice and
training, and it takes care of orders of free material. For any
information concerning these matters, you must call Sentier
Urbain at 514-521-5608.
